I was getting thumped every which way when trying to move infantry until I started REALLY using covering fire. it made life so much easier, also, remember to use the advance command where approriate. thats saved my grunts a couple of times as well.

If it's the Waffen-Grenadier thing your talking about you should simply get Shroeder's anti censorship loader which changes the WG to the proper SS in game, a lot cheaper than shipping it over from the other side of the pond. With this loader and a new icons bar from the scenario page I don't think there is a single difference from the US version, aside from the manual that is and you can buy that direct from BFC. The loader works perfectly - banishes WG forever!

I'd love to find this out as well, It would keep me playing CMBO for a little while longer..

I believe that vehicles were to only cross ice at the top setting but I think your right and there were difficulties with all the different vehicle weights over such a long period of time. As for using a road, it's not a bad idea but i sort of had this mad image on my head of the frozen lake battle from 'Doctor Zhivago'( i think it was) updated to ww2.!

Hmm, Well I tried with lots of different vehicles and I can't get it to work. I guess they decided against it in the end. I hope I'm wrong though because I wanted to do a battle on a big frozen lake , taking the different islands and stuff..that would have been fun!

What conditions do I need to have to allow armour to cross frozen rivers? I've tried with extreme cold etc but can't seem to manage it,Or did this feature not make the final game?

What I would like to see is units given medals/ promotions for outstanding actions,eg: causing a lot of caualties, an infantry squad taking out a tiger etc. you could stick them in the aar screen along with the other end of battle info. It would have abolutly no effect on gameplay mind you, but it would be cool.

There ARE release dates already given: the fourth for UK( and scandanavia?) an, I think, the 18th for everywhere else. this is apparently so CDV can get their marketing and distribution up to speed in other markets. C'mon, it's not that long now. As for renaming the ss, it hardly affected me in the slightest with cmbo, i actually never even noticed until someone pointed it ouot on this forum but I can see why some people got annoyed.

I'm from Scotland too and like you the wait until the 4th of october is killing me, especially because of all those lucky buggers with the game already. Although I'm not a fan of CDV I thnk it is to be commended that BFC chose to get a distributer for Europe. I find odering from the states a pain the the arse and I for one am delighted they have taken this route. It's less than a fortnight until it's out... just go to sleep or something until then!

The 30.82 drivers are fine and they are what i am using, although i only have a gforce 2mx. There are also the new detonator 40 somethingorothers which are designed specially for systems XP although they are Beta only at the momemt. A amte of mine used them but had a lot of problems with them. I'd use the 30.82 if I were you as they seem to be pretty solid.
