  1. Hi, I'd like to say that as long as the game finally arrives and gameplay is not altered, i don't care if i get a slightly different version. I do have some questions: 1)I heard that in the US cmbo, one could alter names of units if one wanted to, but the CDV-version was coded or something so you cannot alter the silly Waffengrenadiere after you buy it. Will this be changed for CMBB? And if it is not changed, would BTS considder making a "patch" for the European version wich alters the waffengrenadiere and other alterations? 2)I've had the luck to be able to play the US cmbo and the CDV version. Will i still lose the cool intro-movie the US version has for some CDV advertising intro? 3)Will other things than the waffen SS name be changed in the European CMBB version? "Political correct Nazi Flags ea. ...?" 4) How where sales in Europe? Here in Belgium the game was found in abundance in stores everywhere.. Where sales high enough to do this again? Or will i be driving for two hours to find a store wich has the CDV CMBB? I really hope one of those friendly people of BTS will reply to this question, thank you in advance, Strumy Ps.: Sorry for any grammar mistakes.
  2. 1.2 GHz Athlon, 512 DDRam , CTX pv 520 15" flatscreen, Cambridge DDT3500 digital hometheater, creativelabs soundblaster live platinum, Gainward Geforce 3.
  3. hehe, funny AAR. It is true, sometimes a single unit can do amazing things. The weirdest thing i ever saw was a friend of mine who had placed a 50 cal. as a sort of outpost in a house near a road. I surrounded the house with a platoon of green volkssturm and one or two regular squads and then stormed in from differant directions. That regular 50 cal. stood it's ground and killed all my men, it only became immobile. I had to use a 75mm halftrack to kill it. Useless to say my assault on that flank was stopped before it had even begun. [ June 24, 2002, 03:59 AM: Message edited by: SturmSebber ]
  4. Ok, Sorry "Cataract Jack ", it is sad that i can play because of your misfortune. My condolences.
  5. Hi, I am advancing a couple of tigers and one wirblewind in open country. The enemy aircraft made an (unsuccesfull) run on them, and the driving wirblewind never shot at them!! My question is, should i stop the wirblewind for the next turn in order for it to fire on aircraft? Thanks in advance! Ps.: Is this a good way to protect your heavy tanks against aircraft? I also have some flak, but i tought it best to have something to accompany my tanks.

  7. I speak for all when i say: WHERE CAN WE DOWNLOAD THIS TREASURE ?
  8. A Bumbel bee bites before bumping because biting before bumping is what all good bumping bumbel bees do best. *bump*
  9. Thanks for the replies, But indeed, i still prefer the 250/9 as they are cheap, fast enough to keep up with running troops and don't nibble on the armour points.
  10. Hi, Just to keep the discussion going, here are my 2 cents: 700 QB i chose: (all veteran none crack) 1 * Sturmgeschütz IV 117pts 3 * 250/9 halftracks (20mm) 135 pts 1 * 88mm Püppchen 32pts 2 * SS motorized grenadiere 320pts 1 * 81 mm mortar artillery 86pts 1 * AP mines 10pts total: a nice 700pts -The Sturmg. is a great all round panzer -Those halftracks are good as (although unlikely your opponent has an aircraft in such a small game)AA, supression/killing of infantry, supporting your own troops and they do have some anti-tank value. - Püppchen is a cheap and deadly anti-tank weapon, tends to get killed rather quickly once it starts firing, but i often get those few kills i need with it. -SS motorized are good infantry with decent firepower, i often get good results against armour with them too. -If you want some artillery in those woods, 81 mm is cheap and acurate. -Ap mines tend to consume too much points in small battles, but hey i had 10 pts left I would never buy too static equipment in such small engagements. greetings, Sturmy [ June 11, 2002, 03:35 PM: Message edited by: SturmSebber ]
  11. I like the German 20 mm gun, but i can get that real cheap as the 20 mm AA or in the halftrack, so what is the lynx good for? thanks in advance!
  12. Thanks for the reply, But as a Belgian, naturally i've been to most locations of the battle in our Ardennes. Wehrtechnische Studiensammlung sounds interesting! But if you have better suggestions wich are not located in the Eifel, please mention them, exept Berlin, i dislike the people/atmosphere there (sorry ) ! I've been to Badmünster-Eifel too much already i guess Friendly Greetings, Sturmy [ June 11, 2002, 11:28 AM: Message edited by: SturmSebber ]
  13. Hallo Deutsche Freunde! I'm sorry to "change" topic (and even more sorry not to be able to join you on your museumtrip), but i have a question for you. Me and a few friends are going to Germany next September for a few days and i would like to know if there are a few nice places where there is enough (but not too much) ww2 stuff to see for let's say a 4 day trip. I really like the Eiffel region of your country, so anything in that region would be super. I thank you all in advance, Grüße aus Flandern, Sébastien Ps. :You can answer in German if that is easier for you.
  14. What a nice idea! If shipping was not so darn expensive i bet they'd be showered with gifts by now! But please, i'm sure if you'd post an accountnumber we'd be glad to donate for such a worthy cause. CHEERS!
  15. Agree with Frenchy, It is all very self-explaining, but to win a game by superior tactics and putting those orders/functions into good use, that is something else!
  16. Almost forgot : Rote Fahne lied (song of the red flag) and vorwärts die Zeit (move to a new era) These are great communist songs. (if you'd care to get them in your e-mail, mail me )
  17. "Siehst Du in Osten das Morgenrot" (do you see the sun rising in the east) by the waffen SS. Or "Bist du bei mir" (are you with me -in my final hour-) by Bach Both are strong vocal songs, although totally in a differant "timbre"
  18. Obviously Nac4 has bought the wrong game (for him). I'll admit that (at least in europe) reviews were not very common and i still have to see the first pc/games magazine with a demo of cmbo here in Belgium. Yet i find it bizarre that someone can attack a game so visciously about features wich it nevere boasted to have, you are complaining about options wich are just not there (yet?). Sure, i could agree to some of your points, but post them as a CONSTRUCTIVE hint to the makers of the game, not as a reason why the game is total crap.If NASA lands on Mars, will you call them names for not landing on Uranus? In the way you post your "suggestions" one can clearly see that you do not truely wish to post something that will broaden the game-experience in the long run.... You are just looking for a fight(and thus obviously for a life as you do not seem to have one right now). You have the diplomacy and insight of an elephant and deserve everything that is heading in your way because of this. Work out your frustrations somewhere else and not on forae where i like to spend my evening relaxing. Sturmy
  19. When visiting Belgium : La Roche : Great museum, several allied tanks in the town on display, historical towncenter. Bastogne: American memorial, a sherman on display on the marketsquare, very tourist-friendly, surrounded by a few other interresting things (a German cemetary ea.) Poitau (or something like it) : there is a guy who has it's own German halftrack and drives you around the battlefields, you can find him on the internet if you look really hard If you can, go and see Ieper, it has a good museum (in flanders fields) and noteworthy monuments (esp. WW1) , and a good museum with a very nice exhibition until next november: dead lines : http://www.inflandersfields.be/english/eng-index.html (Don't visit Flanders if you are looking for ww2 stuff, better go to the Ardennes.) If needed any info just e-mail me.
  20. I'm playing a pbem with a friend and we have a little discussion about the sdkfz 7/2 /1 , do they still have a "bug" in them in the euro-version wich makes them unfair to use? I'd be really gratefull if an administrator could answer this one too. Thanks in advance, Sturmy
  21. hi, Codes are crap! It's all fine until someone hacks your personal code and then you are stuck with a game that won't work. It happened to me with "return to castle wolfenstein" (i know a stupid kiddy game ), but still, there i was, all that money was a complete waste because ofcourse i didn't get a replacement code from ID -software, that just wasn't their policy.Next time ID brings out a game i'm going WAREZ  .(mumbeling about evil codes and more evil corporations.....)
  22. Hi, It often happens to me when one of my MG's jams it keeps jamming for the duration of the game, eg.: turn 1 : jam, turn 3 ok , turn 5 jam, turn 7 ok, turn 9 jam,.... Is this just me, or is it some kind of circumstancial factor? [ May 03, 2002, 04:44 PM: Message edited by: SturmSebber ]
