  1. try 30.82 drivers. I get great frame rates and everything works (FSAA and fog) [ October 28, 2003, 07:54 PM: Message edited by: George-III ]
  2. If the latest driver does not work for you try the 30.82 drivers. These have always worked the best for me. Great frame rates - FSAA works perfect - fog also works. I would at least keep these drivers as a backup incase the latest dont work. Get them here: http://download.guru3d.com/detonator/ go to page 5 and find your operating system then download. Hope this helps.
  3. I like the 'wego' system best as well. Thats why I hope CM has good graphics in the next engine. As for moving to the general forum, I hope not, this post belongs here please. CM people would be interested in this IMO.
  4. Battlefield Command Game is being developed by 1c, same company that made IL-2 Sturmovik. Might be competition for CM. They are going the real-time route instead of turn based or 'wego'. It sounds like they are trying for as much realism as possible. Screenshots are very impressive for a game that's still a year away. If Battlefront could combine thier system with graphics like these you would have the ultimate game. Will the new engine be capable of graphics like this? I hope so. Anyway thier game is still a year away so BFC has some time.. [ April 01, 2003, 01:09 AM: Message edited by: George-III ]
  5. MasterGoodale Im afraid I have some bad news for you. I recently purchase a Radeon 9700 pro card but had to return it because the AA would not work with CM. The problem is the AA only works on 32 bit grafix and CM is only 16 bit. A lot of people complained to ATI about it on several forums and a couple of players here sent them emails. All to no avail. If you want AA you are going to have to use a Geforce card (hope you still have your old one). I would recomend returning the Radeon if its still possible. Hope this helps
  6. doh... and a double post as well..just not my day. [ January 16, 2003, 04:43 PM: Message edited by: George-III ]
  7. Try this link: Small Unit Actions Hope this helps oops... I just noticed Ace Pilot linked you to the same article. Singling is a great AAR. You should also check out Santa Maria [ January 16, 2003, 04:42 PM: Message edited by: George-III ]
  8. You may also want to look at this thread: No FSAA with Radeon 9700
  9. Is it possible to modify the sound files so we could have the ambient sound (wind, rain..etc..) WITHOUT the sound of off-map gunfire? Does such a mod exist? I like to listen closely to the sounds on the battlefield so I know when my troops have made contact or if a particular weapon is firing. Its very confusing to pickout the on-map sounds from the off-map sounds when 'Ambient Sound' is enabled. If the off-map gunfire could be removed somehow it would be perfect. Any ideas?
  10. See this post: CMBB is "freezing" on me.
  11. Thanks Chris, I registered on the Rage3D board and posted a reply in the thread. I hope all the requests will be heard. I also went to http://www.ati.com/ and found their customer support feedback page: http://apps.ati.com/cservice/webform.asp Maybe if enough people send in customer support complaints about this they will listen. *sigh* $400 bucks and I have to beg them for support......man. 12. Thomas, I am having the same problem you are. Random lockups. I also have a Geforce and Soundblaster type card. If I use a different video card I dont have a problem so I suspect its the Geforce. I have come up with a very unusual solution that has worked very well for me and might help you. It seems that my system is very heat sensitive. The lockups only occurred during the day when it was hot. If I took the case off and turned on the A.C. the lockups stopped. Try cooling your system down and see if it helps.
  13. You could also try "The General". Its a free Russian game that is very addictive. Not much grafix but the concept is interesting. Download here: http://newgame.agava.ru/eng/g_news.html or here: http://www.freeglobus.com/games/game.php?g=86 Also you may want to look around at underdogs. They may have some games that you want: http://www.the-underdogs.org/ Hope that helps [ October 05, 2002, 05:03 PM: Message edited by: George-III ]
  14. I will try that tweeker. Hopefully it will help. Thanks, Schrullenhaft.
  15. I can't get the Full Screen Anti Aliesing to turn on. I found the menu to adjust it under the display settings menu when you right-click on the desktop. I enabled it for both opengl and directx. But no matter what settings I checked FSAA would not turn on. I reinstalled my geforce4 ti4600 just to make sure I wasnt seeing things. Sure enough, if I disabled the FSAA it looked just like what I was seeing with the 9700. BTW I am using the latest drivers from ati.com and my system is an AMD Athlon XP 2000+ with 1 Gig of RAM. p.s. I could not get FSAA enabled on BF1942 either. [ October 06, 2002, 12:59 AM: Message edited by: George-III ]
