  1. My guess is the process of 'dustifying' & 'winterating' everything is probably done a couple of times over now so unless it's doing scratch-built, which takes a lot more time, it's refining the above processes or having some particular Markings or whatnot you feel would be good. In CM terms, it's not a shortage of ammo, it's fewer obvious targets. Well aimed shots rather than area fire. After a frontal assault there's the, ahh, I'll stop now. strt
  2. I'm behind this idea. I've encountered the same problems. A firing 'pause' would be a seperate & useful thing. strt
  3. At some point someone needs to let us know who's playing who (Axis = Facists I'd guess) & what vehicles can actually be used. I have a friend who's very into the SCW. He may have some useful Pics in the pile of Books he has on the subject. This might get him into CM too, which he's been resisting. strt
  4. From here, yes. If I get a more flowery opinion when I check it inGame I'll let you know. strt
  5. A naming convention would be a good thing. I started mine with the Unit Name. Or is it Country then Unit Name? Well, there ya go... strt
  6. I got Zaloga's book. It helps a lot. Good pics from those Links, also. Thanks. strt
  7. There is still a CMBO Forum & a number of people that play it. Back up a level & it's right below this one. You're in the BB Forum. strt
  8. I'm Modding the T-26 line (slowly but surely). If there are any Paint Schemes or Markings for these Vehicles in that War I'd be happy to do them up. mchlstrt@hotmail.com My little contribution to The Cause. An overlooked & underappreciated part of History, it seems to me. A historical question, were there any International Brigades that met elements of their own country's Armed Forces in combat? strt
  9. JK, AbeBooks turned up 13 copies. Good Site to know about, thanks. Sergei, Is what I'm seeing in that pic a whitewashed Tank with a fairly wide Blue Stripe, or is that just a shadow? And if I understand correctly the 'Summer Version' would just be a plain Green Tank for Winter War/Early War. Do you know if the later Camo was whitewashed for Winter? Figure I might as well be as historically correct as I can manage. strt
  10. JK, Thanks. Do you happen to know a good source for this? My 'hometown' (I'm in NYC) Military Bookseller is going out of business, & this seems to be an unfortunate trend. Sergei, Yes, that's the very vehicle I was referring to. I hit Andreas' site a long time ago on a link to a link to a link sorta deal, & saved a couple of pics. I hadn't been able to find it since, thanks for the 'direct' Link. So do you think a 'Winter War' version of the Finn T-26s based on this scheme would be a good idea? strt
  11. Can you put them up at COG's? Geez, you're on a Mac, MÃ¥k. Don't forget to look after your own! Thanks strt
  12. Anyone have any info or resources on this? Did the Romanian Army just put their Tac Markings over the paint job that came with captured equipment, or did it have a color &/or Camo pattern it painted it's Armor? Also wondering if there were any Markings used other than those that come on the stock BB Graphics, which I'm assuming are historical. Are there any references for the actual Colors used in the Finn Camo? Were vehicles ever painted just the Green? I have modern pics of a Finn Vickers that is Green & has White & Blue bands around the Turret, but I don't know if that's how it might of looked in WWII. Thanks strt
  13. I found a site that develops a 68k emulator Basilisk II to run older Mac programs (like games) in OSX. I don't suppose that's really much help, however, as the problem now is the sys 9 emulation (and the Video Drivers). Interesting, though. strt
  14. Anyone have any good leads on this? Someone (Mr Noobie?) had a link to a site that had Air Rec Markings & such a while back, but I seem to have lost it. I'd like to add some options to the T-26s I'm trying to get out, 'cause it looks kewl & helps keep 'em sorted out ingame. Thanks strt
  15. I'm happy to have finally found out what the heck a 'Portee' is. strt
  16. "I don't draw in a program that uses layers...". is right! I would say that using Layers you would really tear it up, but it's the 'mechanicalness' that's inherent in this approach that I'm trying to get around now. When I first wanted to get a textured Base (almost certainly after looking closely at one of your Shermans) I tried what you're describing & decided I must be wrong. I certainly couldn't pull it off. I would very much like to have your Files. I can't figure out how to get an e-mail in my profile so I'll send it to you. Thanks much. I've found an approach that I like as far as 'camoflauging' the Banding goes. I 'Pixelate' a copy of the Base Color & put it over at 5%, then a copy thru 'Sponge' (makes globs of lighter & darker Color) @ 10%. By itself I'm reasonably happy, but when I put it in a crowd it stands out as just too, well 'mechanical'. I do use your Mods as a Benchmark because, at every level of Downsampling, they just have a nice 'naturalness' to them. Now I know why. Rom T-26S at COG's site if your interested in what the above looks like. Thanks again. I'm e-mailing within minutes. strt
  17. GEM, That really looks good (even gooder?). Do please post to COG's site for us Macolytes. I would even encourage you to post all your BB stuff there if it's a reaonable amount of work, as I still haven't been able to (correctly) strip all the suffixes off the big Packs you did early on. That's right, I actually tried. Keep up this Retirement thing, it's working out great. strt
  18. MB, If you see this may I ask how you get the base for your Mods? It seems to be some sort of 'Clumpy Grain' with a 'Clouds' or 'Sponge' Layer involved (these are Filters from Photoshop 5.5, which is what I use). Also wondering if you have any particular 'tricks' for dealing with the way the Game Engine cycles thru different hues at different levels of lightness/darkness? There are about ten more things I'd like to ask, but this is what's making me crazy right now. I'm trying to get my stuff to 'play nice' with all the other Mods at different levels of downsampling, & yours do that really well. Thanks strt
  19. Jussabump. I'll also add: Has anyone tried CMMOS under SoftPC or sumsuch? strt
  20. This isn't a Bug but I thought I'd throw the idea out there. maybe for CMAK. For units that share the same Model having one or two individual .BMPs for each individual unit would allow Markings so that we could tell them apart ingame without having to click on them. For example, i'm working on the T-26 line & the m39 is also the T-26E & the OT 133. Having seperate Turret Side or Top .BMPs for each would allow some at least semi-historical Markings for each unit. a seperate Gun Barrel .BMP for the OT would also allow 'cutting it off' to make it look more like an actual Flamethrower. I tried this on my Mod & it looks good, but you can't really do this right now, practically speaking. This could give a lot of Playability & Eyecandy return for a smaller investment than putting in Models & Graphics for each Unit, though I'm no Programmer so that part's a guess. Just food for thought. strt
  21. JK, I'd say you want to have as much info on the Problem(s) as possible. You would also like to have solutions to those Problems identified as much as possible. However, this is mainly to make your job easier, which is primarily a Political one. You're trying to find the right person & convince them that their Company can gain more from solving this than it will cost them. We can give you info & advice, & you should probably map the whole thing out in your head or even on paper, but in the end you're 'The Man on The Ground' & it's your Play, so it's your Call. I'm certainly sending all the Positive Waves I can your way, Dude, if that helps. strt
  22. ATF, this is your first kid?! I'm sure you're hearing plenty from your Friends, but it really is something you can't understand 'til your there. Now you'll get to exchange those secret knowing looks with other Parents. When you're stuck in the really Bad parts just remember that after you do get some sleep the Good parts will keep on getting deeper & richer. One of those corney but true things. Oh, & I like the Unis. strt
