  1. Feel free to put mine up, or I still have them & can upload 'em myself if that's easier for you. Good work. strt
  2. Anyone that's done much Modding using lighting effects has probably noticed that the eye's perception of Color & Shade is affected by the Colors & Shades that surround it. But this is kind of MindBogglin. Colo(u)r & Shade Stuff strt
  3. ATF I've been making copies of White layers & putting them underneath as ColorDodge layers. 1to1 up to 2to1 (W to CD) for smaller hilights. It lets you get more Contrast without things getting 'Glarey'. It's really worth fooling around with if you haven't already. strt
  4. I'll see what I can do. RL is about to demand a lot of my time, & more importantly, my attention (ie:obsessiveness). I like the BAs myself so there's no motivation. They look like Marco's work to me, & his stuff has a quality inGame I kinda like better than my stuff. I tend to pick on things KwazyDog had to knock out by the dozen 'cause there was no time & no one else to do it. I just have to spend about a gazillion hours on it & I look like a Genius. strt
  5. (Update #6 & Final) Uncle Tgt & I seem to be on the same schedule. The Finnish BT-7m37 & the BT-42.They share one Model & set of Textures, so it's either/or. & because the Model is really an m35 the BT-42 option 'implies' the unit more than it actually looks like it. Late & Early style Colors & Markings, Summer & Winter. Includes options for no #s, & no Tactical Markings. The three-color Camo (Finn_late) began being used in the Spring of'43. The blue Tac Markings (Finn_early) would mainly be from the '39-'40 Winter War, & the black Tac Markings began appearing in Summer '41. That's everything. As of 10:30 AM EDT I'm under the impression these are all OK. Here or mchlstrt@hotmail.com if somebody finds a problem. strt
  6. I agree w/ kipanderson's point about the range of Mods being a concern, & I'm a Modder. Having said that, the Modding, Scenario Design, etc. parts of this Community are very important in making it what it is. While that may not directly translate directly into big numbers for sales, it's an important 'Street Cred' factor. A direct effect of that indirect effect (!?) is me buying 4 copies of various CM iterations as gifts, & causing at least 5 more to be bought by others, leading to at least 3 people who are impressed enough to report 'passing it on' to still more folks. Plus whatever unreported effects my preaching has had. I'm sure I'm not unique in this. Having good 'Word of Mouth' happening for you is becoming rarer & thereby more valuable in the current Marketing climate, & it would seem BF should do their best to protect & encourage it. They've carved out a nice 'Quality' niche for themselves. They still have to make choices & compromises, but if they do it right they get to not do hack work, which is enviable. As to the 'Money Grubbing' side of these calculations, they should please make sure they grub enough to keep doing this. IMO,FWIW,etc. strt
  7. Being on a Mac, I've been known to take Gordon's CMMOS Mods & 'apply' the smaller Option .BMPs to the full ones to get the alternatives I really want. Helps me not feel so left out. strt
  8. I've got some KT Tracks Gordon let me use back in 'BO. I have no idea if they're apprpriate, actually. His new BB KT Mod has new versions on it, if so. & I like where that Tiger's going, ATF. strt
  9. Thanks for the good words. I think this is a great community & I'm very happy to be part of it. When I did a 'test download' I got an empty .ZIP for the m37-7M. The .ZIP I uploaded is good, & I think it was just a byproduct of the 'Great KingTiger Rush'. I'll try it again later & fix it if it's really broke. UPDATE: OK as of 2:57 EDT. CMMods is really working hard tonight, at least it looks that way where I'm at. strt [ May 26, 2005, 11:59 PM: Message edited by: mchlstrt ]
  10. Just got back in touch after a bit & CMMods is back up. Best of thoughts to COG & his wife. I've done Mods for all the BT-5s & BT-7s in CMBB (the BT-2 is a lot more work for one unit, & besides, the original is Good). They're a bit lower Contrast & Color Saturation than my T-26s. Any feedback is welcome. By fooling with some of my Background Layers I found I could also do a sort of 'Worn Whitewash'. May be too ragged looking but I figured it was something different, & other folks are doing good 'regular' WhiteWash. I've posted the Romanian BT-7m37 (the Model is an m35), summer & winter, at CMMods. The only things left to do are finishing a 'hack' for the Finnish BT-42, which shares one Model & set of Textures with the Finnish BT-7m37, & doing some 'paperwork' to get everything ready for posting. They should all be up over the next few days. (update#1) I put up the Soviet BT-7s for summer. The BT-7A, BT-7m35, & the BT-7m37. The Soviet BT-7m37 & the BT-7m39 share one Model & set of Textures, the m39 adding an MG to the Turret Rear. The 'BT-7m39' Folder contains a Turret Rear .BMP that has a mount for this MG. & m39. (Update#2) Soviet BT-7s in Winter whiteWash. Options for Red Tactical Markings & Air Recognition, & Black Tactical Markings with 'unWhiteWashed' Air Recognition. (Update #3) Soviet BT-5s for summer. The BT-5A, BT-5m33, & the BT-5m34. The m33 & m34 each have two different styles of Tac Markings. Update #4) Soviet BT-5s in Winter WhiteWash. Options for Red Tactical Markings & Air Recognition, & Black Tactical Markings with 'unWhiteWashed' Air Recognition. (Update #5) The Finnish BT-5m34. Late & Early style Colors & Markings, Summer & Winter. Includes options for no #s, & no Tactical Markings. The three-color Camo (Finn_late) began being used in the Spring of'43. The blue Tac Markings would mainly be from the '39-'40 Winter War, & the black Tac Markings began appearing in Summer '41. I see Uncle Tgt has put up a Finn BA20 in Early Colors, so maybe some folks are actually using my Early Finn stuff.I hoped re-numbering the .BMPs would cause them to 'swap out' like the German Units, but this doesn't seem to be the case. (Update #6) The Finnish BT-7m37 & the BT-42 in late Camo. Can't fit more Pics. I'll stick it at the bottom of the Thread. OK then, that's the whole batch. strt [ May 30, 2005, 07:30 AM: Message edited by: mchlstrt ]
  11. When I started Modding for BO I was making Mods very dark, & I'm on a Mac, which means they were coming out even darker on Windows. I shifted the Gamma & posted them at CMMods. I believe the old versions are there under CMMOS. There is a JagdTiger, a summer/winter Pzr Uni, a summer/winter VolkSturm Uni, & a Face Mod. Here's the JT. This is the 'lighter' version. Yikes. If anyone tries these that is familiar with the old ones I'd be interested in knowing if/how much this helps. Thanks, strt
  12. Nice work. I really like the splotchy effect on the T-34. Is that a certain technique or is it more about the underlying Mod? strt
  13. I'm liking it. The weathering pulls it together nicely, & the worn edges are giving it just enough of a 'broken in' feel. Post more Pics when & if you're inclined, I'm always interested in seeing how you're going about things. I like your Moddin'. strt
  14. This is for the PC side, right? The 'Mc" part always confuses me. strt (on a 'Mc')
  15. Don't listen to either of them. They're both actually me. I fooled around with what I said you might do in the e-mail you haven't read yet. Let know if you want me to send the file again with this stuff. strt
  16. Phillipe, It should be at the address in your profile now. strt
  17. P, I had a chance to fool with it today. After some fooling & thinking I believe what's bugging you boils down to the way the 'rectangular' Ripple Template sits on the 'triangular' Pennant. I semi-'trianglized' the Template & got this: If this is helpful I can send you the PhotoShop 5.5 File I was working out of (how big is your in-box?) or the Ripple Layer or try to explain it better. If this isn't the right track I thought about some other things, but they should be the same on your rectangular Flags, which aren't bugging you. strt
  18. I like the Camo. I'm also impressed with your preview pics lately. strt
  19. DEY I'll send you the zip off my 'puter if you want to try that. mchlstrt@hotmail.com strt
  20. I DL'd it again, & it seems fine for me (Mac). If there's a problem I need to fix someone please help me figure out what it is. I don't know why this one File is acting up. I didn't do anything different that I'm aware of. strt
  21. P, Are you on a Mac? Photoshop defaults to displaying a 'Windows' Gamma, which is 'darker'. When you put the .BMP inGame it always looks lighter. I haven't gotten to my Modding 'puter with your Files yet, but reading your e-mail it struck me this effect might be aggravating your situation, though it's clearly not all of it. More later. strt
  22. P, re your Ripple thing, are you saying it's too 'white' & it washes out the Emblems? You can 'turn down' individual Layers in PhotoShop, if you dont already know that, or try different 'blends'. If I can understand what the issue is & what sort of Layers you're working with I'll be happy to try & help. strt mchlstrt@hotmail.com
  23. I happened to come over to this Forum & then I happened to read this whole Thread. I have a take FWIW. I do Mods. It's good to put something up & have folks say "It's great!", to feel supported & appreciated. However, the people who are going to give me useful feedback are Modders themselves or real Mod Aficionados. People who know what they're looking at, so to speak. I'm a 'hobby' player. I know I like some Scenarios, but I don't really know why. My input is kinda useless once I get beyond "It's great!'. If I 'had' to review stuff I am exactly the guy who would unintentionally screw up the Rankings before I gave up going there in shame. What I want to know is what the serious Scenario Designers & Aficionados think. If someone is into it enough to do X number of Reviews then post their all time favorites, under their name, linked to all Reviews for that Scenario. Vs AI, PBEM, quickies, biggies, whatever Catagories you guys think. But do have a 'Best Kept Secrets' -type one, for stuff that other Folks missed, or that are quirky but kewl. This encourages people to get involved & bring a standard to their input, even a subjective one. Have 'Hot Picks' lists on the main page based on each 'qualified' Reviewer's latest recommendation in each Catagory, while making it clear that deeper Lists are a click away, under Reviewers names. This keeps the Main Page Lists alive & moving, as it's on a time driven basis. It gives average Schmoes (me) a quick way to grab a Scenario based on something, anything. It also makes it easy to get further (& older) recommendations while drawing people into the whole Review process. When you click on Cap'n Happy's link you know you're getting his opinion, not The Top Ten From On High. I hope some of this is useful, or at least intelligable. strt
