  1. Nice Work. I don't know how you do 'from scratch' jobbies so often (obviously), but do keep doing it, Please & Thank You. strt
  2. FWIW, if you look at the Finn Early Black Tactical Markings m37 (whew) it's based on that lower pic. I would like to do Winter/WhiteWash versions, but I really am so slow getting these out, & other people 'Winterize' so well that I haven't. What I have done is start on the BT series. strt
  3. As soon as I can get rid of them Wheels & stuff, she'll be about ready. strt
  4. There are at least four StuHs in the Game that I know of. One early (grey) & three late (yellow). Zimorodok & canon did Winter Mods that cover three of them, but the only winter Mod I know of for the Early StuH42 in late colors (yellow) was done by GEM in his big CMMOS WhiteWash Project when BB first came out. Which makes me think you might be putting CMMOS Mods right into your BMP Folder & the Game doesn't recognise them. If you're on a PC you can get McMMM at the Mod Database & I hear it will strip out the CMMOS suffixes for you. Otherwise you have to do it by hand. strt
  5. I think this is a particularly good whitewash too. It looks like actual Humans did a pretty good job & have used the vehicle for a bit since then. With all the conversions for BO period battles I'm sure this will be well used. How DID you go about getting that brushed-on, scuffed effect? By hand somehow, I assume. And is it a Layer you put under your Shading & Highlighting-type Layers? Just Modder curiosity. strt
  6. Thanks. I got knocked completely out of the CM Modding box by Real Life back early in the year, & just recently had a chance to finish these up & actually post them. I would like to do the BTs. I've aready got at least one Turret & the Running Gear is pretty simple, but Real Life storm clouds are already forming again (not an all bad thing, fortunately). Don't hold me to it. I've seen a couple of people mention the AK Shermans. I have it in my head that Bergman did them for the game but now that I think about it I haven't actually seen them. Probably wishful thinking on my part because his BO Shermans were so good. strt
  7. These are Mods for all the T-26's in CMBB. If I missed something let me know. Some of these have been posted before, but they all incorporate improvements & new info I've picked up along the way. They're all labeled 'v3' because of this. Includes options for Tools & Tactical Markings. "Sov_T26m33-9_BBv3MLS" Mods the Soviet T-26 m33, m35, m37, m39, T-26E(Ekr), OT-130 & OT-133. They share enough .BMPs that it has to be one Mod. I only split them up within the file for convenience sake. The m37 & OT-130 share textures, & the m39, OT-133 & T-26E(Ekr) share textures. The m37 & m39 (OT-130 & 133) share the GunBarrel .BMP, & the option for OT-130 & 133 FlameThrowers is basically cutting off the GunBarrel, so it's both or neither. You can have standard m37 &m39, OT-130 & OT-133, or standard m37 & T-26E(Ekr). "Sov_T26m31_BBv3MLS", "Sov_T26m31_BBv3MLS" & "Sov_OT134_BBv3MLS" are seperate Mods for the Soviet T-26m31, T-26A, & OT-134 FlameThrower Tank respectively. "Rom_T26S_BBv3MLS" Mods the Romanian captured T-26S (m37). "Finn_T26Elate_BBv3MLS", "Finn_T26m33late_BBv3MLS", & "Finn_T26Slate_BBv3MLS" are seperate Mods for the Finnish Vickers Tank & the captured T-26m33 & T-26S (m37) respectively. "Late" refers to the three-color Camo which began being used in the Spring of'43. This is the 'Standard' CMBB Finn Camo. I hoped re-numbering the .BMPs would cause them to 'swap out' like the German Units, but this doesn't seem to be the case. "Finn_T26Eearly_BBv3MLS", "Finn_T26m33early_BBv3MLS", & "Finn_T26Searly_BBv3MLS" are also seperate Mods for the Finnish Vickers Tank & the captured T-26m33 & T-26S (m37) respectively. The blue Tac Markings would mainly be from the '39-'40 Winter War, & the black Tac Markings began appearing in Summer '41. Regarding Tools & Equipment: It almost seems as though which & where Equipment would be mounted was up to whoever was holding the rivetgun at the time. I've incorporated Resources, Guesses & Artistic Liscense. Regarding Colors & Tac markings: They're all based on something, with various levels of applicability to Historical Accurracy & Theatre Appropriatness. Second sentence above also applies here. Thanks for the help with Pics & Info. strt mchlstrt@hotmail.com
  8. I recently got a Mac w/ an ATI 9000 in it. Is this the Card under discussion & if so could I get a set of those Drivers? Use 'azulie@earthlink.net' please, & thanks. strt
  9. Sorry to get not as OT, but I still can't up or download at CMMODs. There was an F-key trick going around but it doesn't seem to work for me (Mac?). Any help? I've got a bunch of T-26's for BB done for a while. Thanks strt
  10. Slightly off Topic but I still can't login to CMMODS. The F5 trick doesn't seem to work for me. I'm on a Mac. RL has been kicking my butt for a while now but I do have the Finn T-26's ready to go. Any new ideas or info would be appreciated. Thanks Strt
  11. Aha, there it is. I wonder why it was later than the 7.XX version? Thanks. strt
  12. There doesn't seem to be an update for Virex 6.1 this month & I can't find any mention of it @ MacAfee. Does anyone know if it's no longer supported, or a Mac site where someone might have the answer? Thanks, strt
  13. If you're on a Mac load in a LoRes Grass & create a scenario containing only the Unit you're wourking on. It shows up in full HiRes on my system (Radeon 7000). Also, if you go to a more 'crowded' scenario to check it against other Units then switch back it remains at whatever level of Resolution it went to to accomodate all the other Textures. You have to quit CM & restart it to get back to the 'HiRes' effect. strt
  14. Måk, I wish you would put your non-CMMOS Mods up at the Database. I get them & strip off the suffixes, but I'm fairly savvy on these matters. You do top-tier stuff, & it's too good to not be readily available. strt
  15. I actually read these sorts of threads but I generally have absolutely nothing useful to contribute. Thought this might be interesting, tho. I'm no expert, but I've done a lot of soundproofing. One is essentially trying to design a barrier that a given amount of Energy can't penetrate. To oversimplify a basic priciple in that field a bit, multiple layers of varying material are superior to solid layers that are equal in whatever measures you apply (thickness, mass, etc.). I think of this as making the Soundwave burn off extra energy by 'shifting gears'. This would make sense to me in the Armour case because you're seeing The FH Layer, a Homogenous Layer of a certain thickness, maybe a small Air Gap (does wonders in soundproofing), another FH Layer, & a Homogenous Layer of a different thickness. I would be surprised if it wasn't superior to RHA as Soundproofing, anyway. Also, as in your Field, you can put up enough Mass to stop anything, but it's genarally not practical. strt
  16. This is the notice for Wednesday Sept. 24? I'm willing to go make some noise when the time comes, but someone should keep this bumped every few days 'til then. That will also give the greatest number of people the chance to catch it. strt
  17. So does the term 'Sharpshooter' come from this guy Richard Sharpe? Is this another one of those things like 'Your name is Mudd' that comes from something other than you would first think? strt
  18. Some Finns in early colors are up next, I believe. I was hoping the Finn Armour would do the same '100,000' switch as the German Armour around mid-war, but it doesn't seem to (unless I'm doing something wrong). I'll do the Camo versions also & you'll have to switch them. I keep putting the OT-134 & the T26A back at the end of the line because I can't find much Reference for them. If anyone has anything on this it would be appreciated. I do have some Ref s for the 'E' but as you said it's the same textures as the m39 & OT 133. Maybe as an option at the very end. MikeyD, that's a serious compliment coming from you. There's a little 'too much' Work there, as you can no doubt tell, but this is one place I can really overindulge the Rampant Perfecto side of my Nature. Thanks. strt
  19. I have refs for Nationalist colors. I'll do the Finn T-26m33 up in those soon ( I swear, man). The m37 wasn't in there but there's also the Finn Vickers (T-26E in Finn service, I believe) if that's good for anything. I have no refs for Republican markings. I assume the base color was as it came from Russia. strt
  20. This Mods the Soviet T-26 model 31 Includes options for Tools & two different styles of Tactical Markings. Regarding Tools & Equipment: It almost seems as though which & where Equipment would be mounted was up to whoever was holding the rivetgun at the time. I've incorperated Resources, Guesses & Artistic Liscense. Regarding Tac markings: They're both based on something, with various levels of applicability to Historical Accurracy & Theatre Appropriatness. Second sentence above also applies here. I'm on a Mac so I can't do CMMOS ((sad face here)). Other T-26 varients, also Dirty & Winter to follow soon (for me). I've also uploaded an update Pack for the Romanian T-26S & the Soviet T-26 m33, m35, m37 & m39. For the Romanian T-26S there's a new option for Tac Numbers on the Turret side, based on a reference I recently found. All '1's & '8's of course (sorry). The rest are improvements to Inner Fender & Gunbarrel .BMPs. V2.2 of these Mods incorporate these changes. MODDERS: I think I'm onto a Base Color process that's pretty good. Feedback on this would be appreciated, particularly from Windows Users as to how it looks darker. It evens out the perceived Color, smoothes out the Shading, & breaks up the Banding effect, at least on my system. It's 5 layers that can be merged to 3, or even 2 in a pinch. If this interests anyone there are some Files at COG's site under 'SovGrn_color_layers' & 'SovGrn_color_quickstart'. strt [ August 20, 2003, 01:15 AM: Message edited by: mchlstrt ]
  21. A thread on this has been revived in the BB Forum. strt
  22. Bumping this to supercede the current SCW thread, as it has more info in it already. Hans, I found it with your Member# (which doesn't usually work when I try a search, but...). I have some Nationalist pics. Brown camo & some Markings. Think I can do that within the next couple of weeks. Can do the Vickers when I get it finished if it's useful. I believe the m37 was a result of SCW experience & didn't see action there. I also got a book on SCW Uni's from my pal. I believe it's an Osprey book, I'll check when I can. Lots of different groups involved. If someone really gets into UniModMode I could probably do some scans & post them. (EDIT: I did a Volksturm Mod for BO that might work well for some group, as it's designed to look like Civvies going to War. I'd lighten it up a little, knowing what I know now about Modding.) strt [ August 11, 2003, 11:29 AM: Message edited by: mchlstrt ]
