Ditto comment about being easy to disable/pick-off.

If the V1 rocket was so easy to pick/disable, then why did the British allow so many to crash into London?
2. The germans also invented guided missles, fired from aircraft and tested them in the medeteranian against shipping.
3. Thats a realy good site! I added it to my favorites. Thanks again.
4. Thanks for the link! I definetly remember the arty being a bit over done to say the least in PG. The M7's were so annoying. But at the same time remember the magical Pioneer infantry and Engineers that were so good, no army could dig in against their onslaught?
5. Hehe...now i'm sure that could be highly debatable on this fourm.
6.
quote:
Originally posted by Vader's Jester: You don't have to use the scenario editor to feel it's effect on you! But I'm pretty sure you would have got bored with QBs and the couple of dozen missions that came on the disk in short order. It's the hundreds of excellent user made missions that keep the game fresh. Sure, mods are great too, but it's new missions (historical or otherwise) that keep everyone playing. Just think of all the games you've had over the years that are gone because you got tired of playing the same old thing. I mean, you can only play Pole Position or Close Combat 2, or any other number of games so much before they get old. And sure, CM will die for all of us some day; but it's the ability to rejuvinate the game with new scenarios and operations that keeps CM going in the long run. That is why it is CM's best feature.

I agree, though i never played CC2. I was a big fan of Panzer General, i still have the dos version from like 1994. This game made that game obsolete. PG was good for it's time, but the stats on alot of things were way off the mark wich annoyed me. Where would be a good place to fond some Maps? CMHQ i assume? I pretty much only play other opponents, but sometimes the quick battle maps are'nt that great. Not awful, but at the same time i would'nt mind trying out someone elses map or scenario. Eventualy i'll probably make my own. I'll make a topic when i do so i can figure out how to let everyone download them if they want.
7. Stop taking me so seriously....or yourself so seriously.... Everytime so far that someone has taken me the wrong way...ie rude or hotile or what not, i've only been joking. I may not be British, but i can appreciate dry wit.
8. Well i must say that i like his rules, was he jokingly rude like me or just plain rude? I'm wondering so i don't end up getting banned, this is a cool forum.
9. Thanks for you help, i'd been having a hard time locating the building mods.
10.
quote:
Originally posted by Goanna: Big duh, Iron Chef. But that's because some of us are giving back to the CM community rather than just soaking up other's work and not giving anything back other than being a convenient butt of jokes.

Did you get kicked by a kangaroo today or something? I just got the game a couple months ago, sheesh. If i knew how to make some decent mods, or came up with a scenario people might like, i'd put it out there for everyone.
11. I'd still be playing it, as i have yet to use the scenario editor.
12.
quote:
Originally posted by Kingfish: Isn't it time for your Alpha battle with Fionn on the eastern front?

Is this the same Fion who made the Fion rules? i'm pretty new here so i don't know. Also i noticed in one of the archived posts that someone mentioning he was banned? Is that true?
13. I have IL-2 as well, my system is a PIII 700mhz, Geforce2mx64mb (i added) 256mb sdram( i added an extra 128) and a Santa Cruz sound card (i added) the game looks great, but i have to program game commander2 into it, so that i'll have some voice controls for those hard keyboard combo commands
14.
quote:
Originally posted by redwolf: Weak spot penetration is a 1% chance of reducing armor thickness by 30-50%. So a 20mm on a serious tank will usually still not penetrate even if the dice rools for it. When the tank has a shot trap, the chance is bigger. Steve said it's 10%, I think it's more like 3-5%. I had 20mm knock out Shermans, BTW.

Impressive. i have'nt been able to do this, but i have only attemted it once. The attention to detail in this game is great! The PanzerII (Lynx) that fired on the sherman was about 500 meters away i think, it shot off a few rounds, blew its smoke charges and motored away to saftey, setting up a nice distraction for my Panzer IVH that was close by, to get into posistion a couple times and ultimatly take out the 76mm Sherman.
15. Sorry Lord General, i forget to e-mail you back! My bad! i had to uninstalled cmbo by accident awhile ago while trying to uninstalanother game, i lost my saves. I won't be playing tonight, feeling a litte under the weather, but i play this game 5 to 6 nights a week. Want me to set up a new game? Or you can send me one, either way is fine with me. Also if you ever interested in an ip game, i have no probling hosting it.
16. I also agree with your statement of Scipio achieving fame through another route. Would he have been as great to the Romans history? We'll never know, mabe the Gauls would have somehow given him a crushing defeat, though not likely. Also the fact that he defeated Romes arch enemy, you can't help but speculate of the confidence this may have instilled in Scipio wich possibly could have had a more positive effect on his career afterwards.
17. I can see where your coming from on the first point, i see how i may have come across as Hannibal being the supreme being to all when it comes to generals, but i do not feel this way. I do consider him one of the elite though.
18. PZ-38t's are going to be fun. Pretty solid tank in my opinion. Not in the class of a T-34, but in 1941, nothing was.
19. Stop complaining about the combat effectiveness or a scout car you gamey basterd they were not menat for this.
20. Could anyone please tell me where i could find some nice building mods?
21. Scipio did all that and more because of Hannibal in my opinion. Though Hannibal did not have the same success, what he did was far more important. He laid down a solid foundation of tactics for the worlds generals to forever build upon. In doing this he in a sense created the Roman Empire, or at the very least catapulted their civilization to the heights it achieved in a far shorter time span. If not for Hannibal you would not know Scipios name.
22.
quote:
Originally posted by ParaBellum: Hehe... And then there was the day when a lowly 50mm Pak killed my opponents Churchill VIII... Boy was he pissed! First time that I got tungsten rounds for my poor little Germans...

50mm pak is a decent weapon. Get this, i took out a Churchill with a panzershreck once, something i hope i never have ot attempt to replicate, as it was my only option at that stage of the game. My opponent was shocked, he never got to fire it's gun once, it was the Arve model i beleive.
23. Are you serious? your taking away Hannibals credibility because he misjudged his oppononets center of gravity???? Wow your harsh....so because Patton won he must be better? First look at what Hannibal did do instead of didnt. He marched an entire army across the alps to fighting a superior Roman army and utterly crushed it. The romans had no more armies after that for a long time. Napolean also lost......does this make him an infeiror general in your opinion as well? Also as a side note, every modern day General has studied Hannibal. All of them borrow tactics from him. This is all a testiment to how well the ability of Hannibal was to lead an army. Don't make me post a grog like thread about Hannibal.......
24. Hehe...good point......am i too forward in pressuming bananas give out brain power, because if my theory is correct, then there is a good possibility that your keepers gave out extra bananas at the zoo today.
