i don't have to run to the library to look things up, i've retained what i've read from a long time ago, i used ot read alot on world war 2, the germans did not treat their allies bad, the italians i'm afraid had enough trouble with ethiopia, yes they fought there and very poor i might add, take your time and look it up, now the italians as you might read were no fairing very well in north africa against the british, in fact without the africa corps, the british would have sent them packing back to italy in a hurry, the italian leadership was basicaly as bad as it gets, thier soldiers simply did not want ot fight for thier officors and i coulkd make a whole new topic as of why, il stupe, i mean il duce also tried fighting yugoslavia, and albania, and greece, since italy was supposed to be the major partenr in the axis alliance, wich obviously was'nt and mussolini did not want to be out done, the italians fought the alabaninas and yugolsalvs to a stand still untill gemrans forces entered the campaign and virtualy took it over and defeated both countries, the greeks were on the winning side of the greco-italian war until the germans showed up, then after the fall of greese the german invaded and took crete from the british by an airborn invasion, the first of it's kind, they took heavy casualties, but it is still pretty amazing from a tactical view point as the british forces were dug in good, the german paratroopers even actualy rescued mussolini once even though his own people ended up getting him in the end, though the allies never counquered northern italy, where german forces were dug in, and beofre you go on about how bad the italian equipment sucked, dont worry i know this, their tanks were not very good at all, they had a large navy, but their guns were very inaccuarate as the barrles were placed too close together, luckily for the royal navy, i thought that would be a nice little fun fact for you, i have tons of them, i'm not trying ot insult you but i am in first gear in this conversation, if your interested in this you should read, alot, not just once source, if your just quickyl looking things up in a usueless attempt to prove me wrong your wasting both our times

so the british did not execute candians when they dropped them off on the shores of dieppe france in 1942? yes their was an invasion of france before d-day and yes it was only canadians who were in it sent to their deaths by the british to test the meddle of the gemrans defenses there, oh wait the british backed them up with a small commando unit, but of coruse you knew that now for your own good, pick up some books if these topics are any interest to you, i have been reading these threads and the peng one at least doesnt try to be historians, if your going to try and debate something at least know what your debating

hi i was interested in downloading some mods, liek tanks and sky, ect they look realy good and i was wondering the best way to download and install them, any help would be appreciated, i have a good idea how to do it, but i would like to make sure so i dont have to uninstll and reinstall my game, i have some good saves on it

obvioulsy all units in need of weapons would use captured weapons no matter the country, but the allies would use the mp-40 being that is was a superior weapon, germany had the market conrnered in quality during ww2 on small arms

in reality there would be no way to accuratly come up with a figure for this, i think that cmbo did the right programming in the game for this, showing the randomness and luck, and misfortune of the pixelated tanks and their crews

sounds like a good game, this thread would make a great battery commercial, still going...........

the problem with these threads are that people find one biased source, aka a lone british soldiers assumptions and base it as fact, i was also refering to late war german infantry effectiveness. ok this will make it simple for you. overlord commenced on june 6th 1944, they landed in france, the combined might of the british, american,and canadian armies, with divisions of french and polish, they were in france, all they had to do was march to berlin, now if late war german infantry was like this british soldier said it was, they would have been able to do it, wich they did not come close to berlin, now the germans were simultaneously fighting the worlds largest army on the eastern front, the war lasted until 1945, find me another country who could withstand that assualt for a quarter of that time undermanned under fuled and under equpiped, and without an airforce, i would also like ot add that if germany turned its eastern forces to the west in a moment of insanity, france would have been re occupied in a hurry, my point is that it took that combined world to defeat germany, from begining to end, none of the 3 major powers of the allies would have been able ot do it on thier own or simply missing one of the allies, it had to take all 3, so if the wolrds largest army needed 2 major powers to survive and finaly beat germany, i think that says alot for their late war infantry, it is a fact that begining to end the germans had by far the best infantry of the entire war

that was some nice vintage ww2 brittish propganda there, as we all know the german ifantry could not have been better trained then their superior brittish counter parts.....haha, give me a break, and as far as germans in world war 1 not being able to use their rifles? more bunk, the germans surpassed all nations in both wars in soldiery, the german infantry on the western front in late war, well to say the least was under maned, during the normandy invasion their was a mere 12 divisions on the whole western front, and 350 divisions on the eastern front, so i would say the german soldiers on the western fron did very well, i mean monty said he could take caen in what 3 days because the germans were out numbered and running extremly low on supplies? well he was right, but 3 days turned into weeks of fighting. that is one of many examples. and as far as the wehrmacht over relying on theior machineguns....well they do help, i wonder how any army would fare without them, but since we're on the subject of nations armries relying on things, did the british soldier forget to add how much the british army relied on the canadians, australians and soldiers of their holdings all over the world, not even counting the americans, russians, polish, and even french? the french take alot of heat for losing big to germany in 1940, but the brittish expeditionary force wich was in france and lost bad, was 2/3 of the british army? they retreated to the beaches of dunkirk and later retreated back to england, luckily for us, the germans had the best infantry in the world thu out the entire war

Joe, as moving as that was i'd like to add an amendment, i propose the Joe Shaw i just need a hug rule. what does this rule entail do you ask? well it goes as this... Joe Shaw Rules Rule 1)- always be kind to Joe, after all he just wants a hug Rule 2)- when Joe becomes rude and unruly, just give him a hug, he is just frustrated that the electrical charges in his brain misfire painfuly and often Rule 3)- let Joe think he has some rank in what ever crazed parody of a monarchy system you are working here Rule 4)- once a day, don't forget to tell Joe that he is goo enough, smart enough, and gosh darn it....people like him(place bag over your head if need be to shield laughter, half wqts who prefer paper to plastic, dont forget to poke holes in it) Rule 5)- though the name Jow Shaw may be synonymous with inadequecy, please refrain from hitting him with large sticks claiming your trying to get the prizes inside, though he may be a mindless slob, he is after all human.....he is Joe Shaw Rule 6)- when Joe is being more annoying then usual, keep in mind the danger of telling him to simply go play in traffic Rule 7)- if the measures of rule 6 fail, keep in mind to tell Joe to look both ways before crossing, and or playing Rule 8)- when Joe fumbles his way thru a stream of tripped up garbled attempts at wit, simply smile and clap, this makes Joe feel important Rule 9)- when Joe wants to eat a crayon, be kind and offer him a bread stick Rule 10)- if ge continues with the crayon, offer him 2 to 3 bread sticks( say Scooby Snacks, it makes it sound more apealing to him)

Peng...you may be able to defeat cobra when you play g.i joe by yourself, but this is a more complex game then , er, whatever it is you do with skeletor and castle greyskull, though i'm sure your tactics are solid for hte defense of castle greyskull, i am stil skepticly you could comprehend, much less play a game of this caliber, now i am sure your head must be hurting from reading all these funny words, so go back to your lightbright and try to forget all the big and scary words in this thread

ok i can talk some trash, but i have only played the game 4 times, i played the computer once and played human opponents 3 times, hehe, this is the best game i've ever played i think

interesting....i can't help but assume that i could "swim with the sharks" if there was any around that is. now if you be good little guppies i'll sprinkle some yummy fish food in your tank, hmmm i forgot about the part about half wits, so in english i am confident i can show you guys how to play the game

hi i am reletivly new to the game, i've only played the computer once, and played against human opponents 4 times, this is the best game, but i had a question concerning mods and download for improved rendered vehicles, if i start downloading these, will my game still be compatible with those who do not have the same mods or what not? finding this game had such a great gaming community was a nice surprise, i surf the forums everyday, aslo should i make a profile?

capt. canuk, though we did supply the soviets with greatly needed shermans during the dreary years of 41-42, once the russian war machine kicked into high gear they started producing t-34's at an insane rate, also lots of su assault/anti tank guns, kv's and later the stalin tanks, the shermans grew obsolete very fast on the eastern front, as did the p-39's and p 40's we donated to the cause, the easern and western fronts were like night and day

i need to borrow a dictionary.....hehe, also i meant to say was that 90% of tiger tanks knocked out on the western front were do to air attack and shortage of fuel....the russian armor was far better equiped with taking out german armor

were there any pershings or jumbos in berlin you ask? why would their be? at that stage of the war the russian war machine had alot more armor then the us and uk combined, the stalin tanks, or is 2's were of much better quality then the paltry pershing or the jumbos, and using band of brothers as a recourse for information is not good, it's a movie, an hbo movie at that, contrary to popular beleif, steven speilberg, nor tom hanks have ever been in world war 2, but before i go on an on, i just wanted to make clear that not only were the german tanks superior to ours, the soviets were as well, 90% of german tiger tanks knocked out on the russian front were do to air attacks, or more commonly they simply ran out of fuel and or ammo and were abandoned, so in short, hehe , their were no american tanks in berlin

hi this is my first time writing on here, in regards to dalem saying the soviet smg was a nasty lil bugger, i hope you meant literaly, it was far from a well crafted gun, and was commonly used in human wave attacks against fixed german positions in leningrad, the gun was awful, but deployed in wave attacks it did its job simply by spraying bullets at the enemy with the cost of many soviet lives
