  1. And, from Lorak's page: "A glob of spit heaped upon their heads would to them be a gift so great as to make them weep..." As I haven't had to dodge any globs (yet), no weeping is forthcoming. But the spitballs Boo Radley has been hurling at my pillboxes have made quite the mess. This one's going to alert the EPA, with all those burning tanks of his.
  2. Accurate or not, that is some fine work. Looks like a picture out of a firearms book. Nice work.
  3. This is the kind of post one must strive for. A single word, and yet still edited! Succinct, full of subtle variations, but unopen to misinterpretation. Masterful. Simply genius.
  4. Oh, thank you for that mental image. What you and your leige do, in the privacy of your own tent is your business. Not that there's anything wrong with that... And it ain't a purse, it's a gas mask bag. Really, it is. Honest. Have to be fully prepared for some of the ah, fragrances in here.
  5. Linear? Next you'll be numbering posts. Sick 'em, Elvis! No, too easy. Like taking shots at Hiram
  6. Check your email, ya pillock. Your "quality" MSN account wouldn't take the files, and kept returning them to me. Had to split them in two just to get them through. Maybe you could try checking the ol' inbox before spouting off. Nah, too logical to do that, eh? And no bolding for me, you dolt. Sheesh, learn the proper etiquette, or the Just-a-car will be all over you like flies on Croda. In other news, Tank Man has gone MIA, and Seanachai appears to be too busy snuggling up to Aussies to send a file.
  7. Ah, yes. I knew I didn't have it quite right. A Trekkie grog, are you?
  8. I seem to recall an old Star Trek episode, where one of the crew (Sulu?) is counting down to their supposed destruction. One crewmember makes a comment to the effect that the counter seems to have a fascination with counting. "The Carborundum Manouver" is the title, I think. Gryrene, you sir, have a morbid fascination with this 8000 thing. A very strange childhood memory, perhaps?
  9. Not so fast, Sir Croda . You might want to see this, first. It's a screenshot of the setup he sent me for your masterpiece entitled "Crodaburg". I think he's trying to tell you something. Damn, this UBB is a pain. [ March 17, 2002, 06:50 PM: Message edited by: R_Leete ]
  10. Thanks, Mace. Mensch already e-mailed me the link. I had missed that they were 1/6 scale, though. I'd like something larger. Maybe I'll try to carve one! [ March 16, 2002, 08:25 PM: Message edited by: R_Leete ]
  11. I have to disagree. Maybe it's the cheap Chineese ammo I use, but my SKS shoots a flame, visible in low light (like in dense woods). Spits out about 6-8 inches, but not nearly as bright as the one in the photo. I have a muzzle brake on it, and you can see some of the flash directed up/back as well. The only thing I've ever seen that shoots a flame like the photo, is black powder, but that's a whole different story.
  12. And just why would The Bard be worshiping Berli ?? Edited, of course. I'm a SSN, what'd you expect? [ March 15, 2002, 09:16 PM: Message edited by: R_Leete ]
  13. Mensch, where did you get those pictures? Is this a model kit, and how much? I would love to have one of those over the mantle. Wife might think different, but I'll take my chances.
  14. Thank you so much. Not. Here I am, slapping this newbie down for the sake of decent reading in the 'pool, and you give me this monstrosity. Is there a reason I am relegated to the defense? So be it. I will send the setups, and post ARs if and when they reply. Let it be known, that with this undertaking, you have forced me to continue mucking about in the cess. Therefore, it is you who is responsible for my presence. Worse than Seanachai recruiting on the outerboards. Perhaps another "trial" is in order?
  15. Jeez, now ya tell me. I let the little pillock send me a QB. If I'd known there was something of historic proportions such as the infamous "crodaburg" in the works, I'd have held off. Maybe for the second challenge, oh ye of twisted scenario design? I say that with the utmost respect. {cough, cough} Perhaps something along the lines of "artyfest"? Sorry, but I've already been introduced to "Jabos"
  16. See the following for one of the all time funniest threads on the forum: "dobermines"
  17. Oh, come on THumpre. Everyone knows wombats didn't make it into combat. REMF don't count.
  18. Obviously reading and understanding are two concepts that you find mutually exclusive. To wit (of which you show none): Sound off like you got a pair - Bzzzt! And half a brain - Bzzt! Challenge someone specific - Bzzt! Strike three. Yer out. I believe Hiram Sedai said it best. Of all the people who are not welcome here, you may count yourself among them. Go play in traffic.
  19. Ah, Ha! Mensch is making his very own hamstertruppen. And, completely out of scale. No wonder he beat me.
  20. What the heck is this ? Let's make a deal? Come on, Rank Can, try using your brain. I realize that this is a novel experience, but give it a shot. Otherwise, you're just cloging up the drains, and the commissioner is AWOL. You want a game, I'll give you one. 'bout time I got some official recognition for all my 'pool loses, so I'm gonna let you be all big and important like. Pick something, preferably on the smaller side, and wing it over. Let's see what you're made of.
  21. Just wanted to note that all you kniggitly types dropped the ball on this one. We had loads of fun watching large splody things, evidently caused by his launching the entire production of VW cars into low orbit. Great fun was had by all, until the moment of truth. Just when he was on the verge of collapse, Mensch actually went and {gasp} WON! That'll teach him. [ March 12, 2002, 09:03 PM: Message edited by: R_Leete ]
  22. Damn, that is funny. But where's the beer stand?
  23. But this kinda misses the point of a grenade being a single soldier weapon. Now you have to have three guys to launch. Makes it more of a crew served system. If you are going to have three guys tied up launching grenades, might as well just give them a small mortar, with it's larger blast, longer range, etc.
  24. Uh, there's 48. Unless you doctored the picture! Standard compass points are the 4 main ones (north south, etc.) plus the "in-betweens" of north-east, north-west, etc. Some would also include the further division of north-north-east, et. al. That's a total of 16. I don't know of anything that breaks it down past that, except by degrees. I remembering all this from my Boy Scout days, so I may be a little foggy.
