  1. Okay, I'm drooling. Get the next installment out, Or I'll have to charge you for the new keyboard.
  2. Until I read it on the forum, it ain't happened. As far as I know, you're still vacationing on the Danish coast. Get writing! And get that demo released!
  3. I realize, as being just a lowly squire, and to Gnome Seanachai as well, that my vote doesn't count for anything. But I'm a gonna stuff the ballot box anyway. And I'll probably get writer's cramp from forging Shaw's signature, but I can make a hell of a lot of those X's before the quill runs dry. Boo_Radley is a lowdown, good for nothing Croda boot licker. In his spare time he touches photos {ewww}, and collects rocks. ("Hey, look! A shiny one! That ought to impress the local bowery boys.") He sends turns far too frequently for any self-respecting 'pooler, and accompanies each and every one with pertinent comments. In spite of it all, he continues to post in a generally amusing way, and is continuing to die-a-lot in the most spectacular fashion, al la Croda-bleaurg . I say, knight the smelly bastid already, and be done with it. Such a simple lad will be welcome cannon fodder come the next big crusade.

  5. Ted, you ain't busy enough. Stop posting, and get busy on the next installment of the AAR. Sheesh, the kind of help they have around here these days...
  6. Hey, Ted, time for another update! Continue the AAR for us.
  7. That's an early model Bren, on it's tripod. Alert BTS at once!
  8. Erick, you modslut! I take it you intend to get the game? Let this be fair warning, that in spite of what ever mods you choose to make or install, I'm looking forward to crushing you in a game. As soon as it is released, I expect a file from you to appear in my inbox.
  9. Having played both games in their boardgame format, I still play A&A (and the new expansions) with friends. I consider them the ultimate beer & pretzels wargame. The European version is fantastic. But I found WiF to take far too long. Too complicated for a weekend game, even pulling an "all nighter". The computer version of A&A is absolute crap. It is so easy to win, from either side. Losses mean little, as the computer AI doesn't understand the basic underlying economic principals. The AI will not attack or even move into open countries, and it will not move units off France, even to counterattack after losing Southern Europe. It will often attack a couple of transports with planes, losing at least one in the process. AAA hits with anoying frequency. The question is not wether you can win, but rather how long it will take. Just recently I reloaded it, and played a couple of times. So, despite it being a dog, I still play it occasionally. I have never played the computer version of WiF. All that said, I predict SC will be a solid 5 or 6. Unless the AI has some major flaws, or the game is horribly slanted to one side, I will buy it. And, probably play it for years. Seeing the support and feedback Hubert has provided thusfar, even before release is a huge plus in my book. So I seriously doubt it will have any glaring deficiencies. I plan to order two copies as soon as it is released. Have to send one to a friend for a guaranteed opponent!
  10. I think it's just about time to start that inevitable thread inquiring about pre-orders!
  11. Anyone foolish and inept enough to want to be Sir Mace's squire would probably miss. Hey! Maybe that's what happened to Aussie Jeff ! Circles within circles...
  12. Sir Mace , would it not serve better ( and save some wear & tear on your hobnailed boots) to use the "Holy brick of Attitude Adjustment"? And, by using it in your hands, it gives those feet a rest. Think of it as the kniggits full body workout.
  13. I'll second that request. Can we see some sort of accounting report? Income, expendetures, what research is being attempted, etc.? Do you have a plan as far as new units vs. points into reinforcing/overstrength of existing units? Resource management is (usually) at least half the battle when playing as the Axis. Also, you state that "the Allies did nothing of consequence". Could you be more specific? It appears that France has moved some of its units from the border. Was that movement, or simply FOW? Does the game give you protests from other governments in the form of some sort of diplomacy screen? Give us some more of the juicy details, man!
  14. Well, it's about time. Been waiting for this all weekend.
  15. Hubert, this is exactly the kind of excellent support and feedback that we've all come to expect from BTS. It is heartening to see that they have teamed up with another with the same values. This kind of reasonable discourse, and willingness to make compromises bodes well for you and SC. Now stop posting, and give us the game!
  16. One option I'd really enjoy would be to have the unit name/number on the tile. But it's just eye candy, and I'd still buy the game if it was hard coded the way it is.
  17. I've seen movie footage of a Tiger 1 firing (Tunisia?), and even that monster rocks back. This in spite of a very good recoil buffer, and the tank weighing in at over 60 tons. I'm pretty sure most any tank rocks a little when firing, except for maybe some of the lighter armed (20mm) ones. In a recent tv show on modern tankers, it showed several shots of M1A1 tanks firing, and they shook the whole vehicle, too.
  18. Does disbanding a unit return some MPPs to the pool? Is it based on unit strength and experience? For instance, a unit with strength of 8 and 3 experience should return more MPPs than a unit with a strength of 4 and only 1 experience point. This game looks to be shaping up nicely. I can't wait for the demo!
  19. Just a small point, sire. I'm in Rochester, New York , not Michigan. The very city with the highest unemployment in the nation at the moment. I suppose we gotta be famous for something. You may laugh now, but I know. Deep down, you, too, want to ride on the badass Tiger. Seeing as you are currently working as an "artist for the state" (drawing unemployment) perhaps you'd like to journey into my neck of the woods and help bring the beast to life. I promise I won't let the cat bury you in the garden, honest.
  20. SuperTed, you are a right bastard! We know you've been playing this non-stop since you got your grubby paws on it. And what do we get? Just the first few moves? C'mon, out with it! We demand MORE! Where's the invasion of the low countries? Where is the topplement of the French? The start of Sea Lion should be well under way, get cracking!
  21. Oh, and while you're at it, can you please update the Cesspool site? There are those of us that would just love to see our name on the official listing. Plus, there are a good number of kniggits off on crusades. Anyone ever hear from MarkIV anymore?
  22. Jentz & Doyle list fuel consumption at 270 liters per 100 klicks on roads, at speed. It is 480 liters per 100 klicks on average terrain. So, it is actually much less than 2 mpg. But you have to realize that these monsters were 57,000 Kg combat weight(that's almost 63 tons), and used a 700 hp engine. Even so, theye were considered underpowered. No compare that with the average family vehicle. They weigh in at what, maybe a ton? Ton and a half? They travel on much better roads, too.
  23. I can see it now: "Siege elephants are gamey!" and "Roman archers are undermodeled!" "Does the catapult have a tripod?"
  24. He's either frustrated by all the pseudo-grogginess in the tripod thread, or he really has to pee.
