  1. In late '42, the turret internal component mountings on the Tiger 1 were changed. This was because a non-penetrating hit (such as HE) caused some of the mounted components to dislodge, and could cause crew casualties. Hence, all internal turret fittings were then welded to separate mounting plates, with additional fasteners and welds. So, a large HE shell, or a non-penetrating hit with AT, could cause a tank to be shocked or suffer crew loss. This according to crew reports, and is also stated by Doyle & Jentz.
  2. Seeing as he saw fit to quote you, I'd say that was a very good guess. Man, the kniggits just ain't what they ustabe. Now go put on your jammies, it's bed time for little ones.
  3. I'm just not quite sure what to do with this one. You see, I have no desire whatsoever to ever be anywhere near your bowels. And, all the slobbering is just plain disgusting. I'm starting to feel the unease that my Lord felt when faced with the attentions of this errant equine. Positively horrible. Sir Hiram, I'll trade you all your Monday's for the ability to rid myself of this 4 legged stalker.
  4. To answer the original question: no. It is a completely separate game, from a different developer (Fury Software). BTS is just acting as the publisher, and hosting it on their site. It is not an add on to anything, but a complete game on it's own.
  5. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Sir Croda , I always read everything posted in the One True Thread . If only to scan for that one small mistake, the tiniest fault, in order to exploit the weakness of the poster. For it is in taking advantage of the blunder, that one may climb upon the shoulders of others. Forcing their heads beneath the morass, one may stand as a giant. Besides, I like to laugh at some people's spelling.
  6. Yeah, your bad. I refer you to The Rules , as originally posted by The Justicar hisownself. "{Don't} think that just because you're good at CM that you have a place HERE! We don't care ... we care about taunting, insulting and generally being Gamey, underhanded swine. That's right ... GAMEY ... we LIKE GAMEY because the Outerboards DON'T." Get with the program, you non-gamey, ladder playing type. Next step is grogdom, and you're perilously close, bub.
  7. Okay, Boo i'm not dying fast enough Radley . Are we using the msn account or what? All the email I send keeps bouncing back. The files aren't even that big anymore, due to your never-fecking-ending artillery. Give a guy a dozen F.O.s, and he thinks he has to actually use every last shell. Sheesh.
  8. Thanks to my Lord's attempt to sidetrack the continuing tripod brawl, I have a new sig. Updates: none. Wait for your turn, Boo , I'll send it when I'm damn good and ready.
  9. If BTS is backing this game, that's the best review I could hope to see. I'm definitely going to get it. Never played Clash of Steel, but I'm a cardboard counter wargammer from the old Avalon Hill days. Having it on the computer just takes out the drudery, and means no more messed up games from the cat, etc. BTW, when can we pre-order? Just thought I'd open that can of worms... 10. I utterly abhor rule sets like that. Setting up some parameters beforehand is okay. Like not all SMG squads, and limiting known troublesome units such as the flak wagons. But to out and out deny use of any single unit is ludicrous. You bought a KT? So what. For that many points I can get 2 platoons of infantry, plus three 'zook teams. Used correctly, and depending on the map, that could be a better than even trade off. Just as NightGaunt wrote, the use of that many points for a single large caliber F.O. may cost you the battle, because you didn't have the points to spend on enough infantry, or any AT assets, etc. It's a very risky gamble.
  11. Damn, my first double post. [ April 18, 2002, 12:29 PM: Message edited by: R_Leete ]
  12. As he is an Ozzie, this goes without saying. Nothing like posting the obvious. Edit: Damn, Joe beat me to it. It must be really obvious if even Shaw gets it. [ April 18, 2002, 12:31 PM: Message edited by: R_Leete ]
  13. At least Boo has the picture oriented correctly. After all, I am left handed. Oh, that I were in reality so well muscled, except 'tween the ears.
  14. Jeez, # 7 sounds just like Mensch! However, he is one of the most entertaining opponents you will ever play, provided gameyness is the whole objective. Nothing like flame tanks in heavy fog, eh Greggo?
  15. Sir Seanachai , pictures have been sent to Lady Persephone , as ordered. Expect some very disquieting images on your monitor soon. It is all your own fault. Had you left me as an anonymous serf, you would not have to suffer such occular assault. Then again, it is sure to make some of the other residents lose their lunches, so it may have be worth it. Also the bribe,...er... gift that we discussed has not yet been postmarked. The delay shall not be much longer. Ready your palette for the delightful boquet of ginger mead.
  16. That's a relief. I thought they were going to start taxing porn downloads or something.
  17. Seany-babe?! This is my liege you're talking about here. The Bard is above your station, you miserable, mad mule. Try macerating your head, you assidious ass. I am here to defend his honor (okay, point taken. It isn't much of a defence, either) from the likes of you! More lurking and less droning, if you please. If not, you know the drill. I'll give you a hint: it starts with SOD OFF . And Boo Hoo , "Shakey-knees"? Surely you can do better than that. I know you're jealous and all. Having been "aquired" by Croda must be an ongoing disappointment. Not everyone can be called into service of the creator. But since we are already battling, I resolve to make you dread Crodaburg, and with it, the dastardly designer. Even more so than you already undoubtedly do.
  18. Simple answer, get a LAN. I have one with 5 ports (10baseT) that cost less than $50 US, including 2 cards and cables. Extra cards can be as cheap as 12 bucks in the local computer store. You can do a lot more with a LAN than just a serial cable setup. Sharing printers, internet connections and files across two or more computers is well worth the price. Windoze has setup wizards built in, so configuring things is a breeze. I would recommend a firewall, if you plan to share net connections, though.
  19. Yes, sire, but, you know, that that has rarely slowed me down (much). Maybe once they caught up with me, but one takes one's chances in the world at large. As to death, well, we all die sooner or later. Come on, do you want to live forever? Alas, you may, but not us of the unwashed masses. P.S. Crodaburg is a never ending travesty. Boo Radley sends waves of troops to die, and yet still more wash up against the noble German defenders. Edited because life is constant change. 20. As my conspicuously absent liege was supposed to inform you, I have a new digital camera on order. Pics will be sent as soon as I have it in my sweaty hands. BTW, whatever did you do to poor old Seanachai ? He hasn't been posting in his usual copious quantities. Did you leave him gagged and hog tied? One can only hope... Edited for spelling. Or lack of same. [ April 12, 2002, 02:50 PM: Message edited by: R_Leete ]
  21. Boo, has Mensch been introducing you to the joys of model cement? Or is it all that photo touching that is getting to you? Now hurry home and send some more stuff for my immobile KT to lay waste. He's getting lonesome.
  22. That you were man enough to admit your mistake, and post an apology speaks volumes. Welcome to the CM community. In the future, a post in the tech forum is likely to draw the attention of a guy by the name of Schrullenhaft. He seems to be able to help fix most problems with CM. Answer his questions, and follow his suggestions and you'll be up and running in no time.
  23. Now, now Lars. Be nice to the newbies. {writes on card: does not play well with others}
  24. Schrullenhaft the technical guru does it again. Man, you ought to get a free CD of CM:BB for all your spot-on advice. Is there any computer glitch that you haven't helped someone with on this forum?
