  1. I'm a little bit please with CMAK too... but to my horror I don't find it as fun as I used to. I haven't played CM for a while, and now when I played the CMAK demo, it felt... different. Not that it's something wrong with CMAK compared to CMBB, I would feel the same thing playing that. It just doesn't grip me as it used to do. It's not about the graphics (although I've said on numerous occations that I want "flashier" gfx) or the lack of a campaign part (god knows I want one, excel sheets can only go so far). It's the damn borg spotting. It just ruins it for me. I really hope (and think) this is the number one thing BFC will improve for the next engine. When I see 4 buttoned up tanks suddenly and simultaniously target my hidden unit, the realism jumps out the window, and I get pissed. I know, we've all gone over this before, but now after not playing the game for some time, it really gets to me. That being said, I will still buy CMAK. It's only around $40 this time, the dollar is cheap(ish) and even though I might not play the game as much as I've played BO and BB, I still want to support the people at BFC. PS: after typing so much without saying anything usefull, how about a small request for CMX2? It's in the "totally useless, but kinda cool" department... Add a turning sound when turrets rotates. That would be neat.

  3. I played the italian scenario as german, and almost fell off my chair! I was seeing a "convoy" or "follow vehicle" command being used by the american tanks!! Of course it wasn't, but it sure looked like it. 3 tanks came rolling down the road, and turned and went offroad in TOTAL syncro, with perfect distance to eachother, was amazing to see. I do hope they implement this in the next engine.

  5. That sounds like a heat problem. Is CM the only game that crashes? Have you tried other 3D games? Run the game with the case off and see if all the fans are running. Just an idea.
  6. Speaking of those fireflies... why was it painted blue on the underside of the barrel? The only situation that would work as camo is when the tank has rolled up to a trench with the barrel sticking out over the trench. When a german soldier in the trench looked up, he wouldn't see the barrel... Doesn't seem that practical to me... So how was it supposed to work?

  8. I'm not sure if you are interested in ordering the game from BFC, but if you are, I can tell you from personal experiance there's no problem with having it sent to Israel. Even though I live in Sweden, I had my copy sidestep over Isreal through a friend, since BFC are not allowed to ship directly to Europe. There were no trouble getting the game both in and out of Israel.

  10. I think Biltong tried that, asking scenario designers if he could use thier maps. He was turned down by almost every one of them.
  11. Thanks for your kind words! That's what I thought too! Looking at the filedate, I made the mod exactly one year ago, September 1, 2002. Must have been right after I got the game. I think it was time I shared it... Gaylord, they are on www.cmmods.com And Sergei, it's not possible to do a hi-res version, the size of the bitmap is hardcoded in the exe. Maybe in CMx2... Oh and I'm using stock CMBB grass with added thin gridlines, homemade of course.
  12. I made these two small mods in 2002, maybe someone will find them usefull... ss_play: Switches the play/pause label on that button to make it more "VCR-ish". ss_molotov: Added a small "flame" to the molotov cocktail. Get them (at least try them out, I use them myself ) at cmmods.com

  14. Found this thread by accident, and saw someone having the same "problem" I had with the play/pause buttons. Switching the bmp's wont help (not an ultimate solution at least, I think there was some problem with that), so I redrew them in photoshop and posted them for people to download way back in 2002 (in your own thread mobear, "Add This To The Patch...", shame on you for not reading it ).
