  1. Some additional terrain types, dikes and polder ..... Also following the breakout and the pursuit across France, their were some changes to the TO&E of several formations .... Overall a good question, I have wondered for some time what BF will put in the MG module to make it worthy of another $35.00 .... We shall see .....
  2. This thread seems to focus on dismounted US tank crews and their uncanny success using the M1911. Do we have similar issues with dismounted German tank crews? If the German crews don't exhibit this behavior then it may be an issue with the weapon not being modeled correctly as opposed to something wrong with dismounted crews in general ...
  3. Marcus, as usual your cryptic response poses more questions than answers ... If CMBN (CMx2) is a totally different engine/application from CMBO (CMx1), then how is this situation related?
  4. And in light of this recognition, perhaps there is some other more meaningful way in which you might show your appreciation ????? Can somebody help me here ???? Anyone???? OH YEAH!!!! un module por favor
  5. Do tell??? I've never tried this before but if it does indeed work on bocage as you say then I suppose it might also work against a tank on the other side of a building wall or a vehicle parked next to a stone wall could be taken out in similar fashion  I'm going to have to do some testing on this little trick ....
  6. YD answered your questions correctly and yes doing this is somewhat easier in RT but by using pauses you can have your riflemen fire for 15 seconds to button the tank then move to a new position and hide. The ideal solution is to have 2 teams in different locations, one fires for 15 seconds then moves, while the first team is moving the second team pops up and fires for 15-20 secs then moves to another location. In addition to causing the tank to button the tac-ai will be focused on these 2 teams while your AT team moves up for that flank or rear shot. Yep, it was either grenades thrown on the deck or a satchel charge but either way a nearby Sherman got too aggressive and drove right up next to a german squad(-) and was subsequently knocked out.
  7. I think this has been touched on previously but it bears repeating. If you have an infantry force in a town/city and you allow unbuttoned tanks to roam the streets at will then you have a problem with your tactics. As someone mentioned before use small arms fire to button the tanks. This means keeping your squads split into teams and those teams should be on different floors or in different buildings. Target light the tank to make it button then scoot out the back or move to a different floor and hide. This is mandatory, if that TC is just standing in the hatch and looking around then your riflemen aren't doing their jobs. Once the tank is buttoned, this will drastically reduce their ability to spot to the sides and rear and you should have no problem getting off a flank or rear shot. Also once those tanks are buttoned you can attempt satchel charge/grenade attacks at close range. This works as well but you have to limit that tanks ability to spot.
  8. You have to click on the waypoint first then issue pause command .... lots of commands can be issued like this such as facing and area fire at certain waypoints
  9. Sounds like in this situation, your scouts did their job. You received a sound contact and you saw your scouts cowering. When you see this happening you know the enemy is on the way and its time to bug out. If you need more solid intel then have them stick around or move to another location and try to improve the sighting ....
  10. Just per-ordered .... the suspense is killing me and I thought maybe throwing money at BF would cause something to happen ..... lets see ... chirp ..... chirp .... chirp .... chirp .... chirp ......... rats
  11. Want to know how to knock out a bunker? Use your flame thro..... oh ... never mind
  12. Wasn't wire (land line) commo used pretty regularly in this time frame? Especially in a prepared defense I think it was used all the way down to PLT level for exactly the reasons stated by GAJ
  13. On the issues with acquiring ammo, Add a share ammo command to the admin tab on HQ units. This will command all units that sub to that HQ who are also in C2 to load balance available ammo. This will eliminate the need to micromanage ammo re-distribution. As far as acquiring ammo from vehicles, keep it as is but remove the need to enter the vehicle to acquire ammo, positioning a unit next to the vehicle should be sufficient. my .02
  14. To echo what George MC said. The scenario was designed so that you could get a feel for the different ways in which the Allies would breach bocage. Sometimes engineers were available most times they weren't which is why the Rhinos where sorely needed. In this scenario specifically, sometimes different tactical situations call for different approaches. For example if you need to breach bocage but you know or suspect an AT Gun might have that area under observation, what would you use? Engineers or Rhino? In either case the best approach is to suppress all known or suspected threats before conducting any kind of breach
  15. Its normally common practice in most defensive plans to place fire on any obstacle included in the defensive plan. Wire, mines, ditches, roadblocks and natural choke points should all be covered with fire. One strategy that I use in the defense is to place TRP’s in close proximity to obstacles or choke points and place scout teams (OP’s) forward of my defense to observe these areas and call in fires. TRP’s work nicely for this because they don’t require a spotter. Some might consider this tactic gamey because an out of c2 scout team should not be able to call in fire but IMO this simulates como wire that these OP’s would have used in most prepared defenses.
  16. Well if the veil is not a separate texture. It would need to be a modification of the blouse texture at the neck line. Way above my skill level to be sure but we have some pretty talented modders in the community so I'm certain someone will tackle the task. Perhaps the same bloke who will mod those helmets to include some proper camouflage.
  17. If not, I'm sure they will be modded forthwith.
  18. Does the mere mention of Peng in a thread title invite an infestation of the vermin?
  19. I would buy a PTO game using the CMx2 engine. I'm hoping another company will come along like the guys that did CM:Afghanistan who might be interested in taking the project on.
  20. The closest game I've found to the role playing experience your looking for is in the Brothers in Arms series from Gearbox Software. Its an FPS but it has some of the elements that you mentioned in your post. Btw the first 2 games in the series i would recommend "Road to Hill 30" & "Earned in Blood" but the 3rd game "Hells Highway" is a dud.
  21. hmmm ... "a long cruel joke" .... come to think of it that's a very good description of what peng truly is
  22. @Erwin, Its not going to improve your performance but the tool is supposed to improve your visuals. .... Of course your mileage my vary .....
  23. Yes please tell me your screenies are modded in some way or I will have big problems on the home front when I attempt to spend what ever $$ necessary to match your setup exactly ..
