CMBB - max number of units
Stixx replied to Catacol Highlander's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Yes the maximum number of units has increased. I think is something likw 548 but don't quote me on that. I think i also read somewhere that the maximum map size is being increased from 3Km X 3Km to 7Km X 7Km. Again i can't recall wheree i heard it though -
Well i doubt it has anything to do with thus but...... The producers of "survivor" the tv show are working on a new one called "Combat Mission" where contestants are taken to a scret military base and compete in militaristic contests.

Someone should tell you this When you recieve the game the CD is indside the manual, or something of the like It's been that long i can't remember exactly where it is but i remember freaking out because i thought they had forgot the CD It's there! So don't go folding the manual in half with frustration because you think they forgot it Stix -
Anyone seen "The Oxford Companion To The Second World War" for sale in Oz? or bought it? Just wondering how much it would set me back.

I trust BTS to get it right. If they don't then there will be enough people complaining that they will do something about it One thing i want to know though is why they don't model the smiley tank? BTS, fix or do somefink! [ January 31, 2002, 04:49 PM: Message edited by: Stixx ]

P.S Priest, crawl back up that ADSL line of your and take your bloody Hetzers with you!!! <--- Hetzer Busting Device!

did we really have great generals?
Stixx replied to DaveN's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Interesting subject but i don't feel there is any right answer. It depends how you define a "great" General. Most countries have fielded some good Generals in their time and those same country's have had some bad Generals. As mentioned you have to give credit to the Germans who through many means (Equipment, Tactics, Propaganda, etc) accomplished a lot with very little. Great Generals: McArthur comes to mind straight away. Still one of the best in my opinion. -
And then there were 5...

Congrats Moon. Wish you all the best mate. -
Are support crews going to have rifles/small arms?
Stixx replied to Chad Harrison's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Rememeber the CC days. Your AT gun or Mortar gets taken out so you move your men up to the front to use there Carbines. They had more firepower than a regular infantry squad! I'll trust BTS to get it right. -
I would of sent it to you if i knew what the bloody "Main file" was You mean the main map? Just reboot CoCaT has a habit of screwing with the map when ya zoom in A reboot fixs it.

CM makes it into Future Combat System
Stixx replied to RMC's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Have a look at Decisive Action. It was developed exclusively for the military and was latter modified for the commercial market. -
Panzer Tactics? ask PRIEST! he's da man!

The Perfect War Game should include... (IMHO)
Stixx replied to Urban Shocker's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
I really do doubt that BTS will incorporate a strategic element on the scale we want in to CM. I think they might give us a basic strategic element in the engine rewrite like being able to carry your forces over to another battle etc. As many advocates have already mentioned the CMMC is the closest will we get for a long time. I doubt it would be possible to incorporate something as in-depth as the CMMC in to CM. CM was designed with a certain scale in mind and has turned out to be the best game ever produced in that category. If you want a campaign join the CMMC!!! My 2 cents -
Abn_Ranger87 give em hell mate. Joe just thinks he is some big hot shot that owns the place. He uses a lot of big words and i think he attempts to be intimidating but i've never met such a worthless excuse for a person. He can't take a joke and gets rather upset when you attack him personnaly. They go on about this "Challenge" stuff but i have never seen Joe Challenge anyone. I'm sure he has but 90% of posts are not challenges. Good Luck to ya Abn_Ranger87 i'll check back in later to see how ya goin. Stix

Yes i did have trouble getting in contact with James when i first tried to join the CMMC. I'm in it now and it's bloody greaT!. Like Andreas said. If you can give James some more info it would speed things up. He can than just get you in contact with that sides training bloke Good luck mate. Don't hesitate to ask if you need any more help. Stix

How much are YOU upgrading for CM:BB?
Stixx replied to Captain Wacky's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
I'm thinking of upgrading but like always it is just a matter of money. I had a Celeron 300 and upgraded to a P3 600. I was very disapointed! My system seemed to go backwards. In the last 6 months i have been getting excesive disk crunching when opening up programs. What is a reasonable CPU around the $200 US mark? I don't plan on buying another intel. AMD? A question on AFV purchasing and CMBB

After i leave them in scraps of twisted burning metal i hopefully i won't have to hear about this anymore! Why you are at it, why not buy a SMG Battalion and a company of Flak vehicles! -
