  1. Andrew, the uniforms look very good as usual but here's something that has bugged me for a bit... The uniforms are too clean! These aren't clerks or re-enactors we are talking about here! Get these guys dirty! Gyrene

  6. Cool, thanks! I don't have CMAK, so I wasn't sure if the bmp system is still the same. Gyrene
  7. To these things work with CMAK? If so, you can still get them at the link in my sig below. Gyrene
  8. It needs to be Olive Drab! Plus it needs some SPAM, Burma Shave and Coca Cola stickers. Gyrene
  9. The operators and employees of impound lots are the scum of the Earth. I wish them all harm and hemorrhoids. Prepare to pay at least $200 to get your own car back. Gyrene
  10. "Impossible with the current engine", "can't be changed in the code" Didn't we hear the same things said about multiple turrets? Running for cover away from the enemy is basic a logic problem for the AI: IF there's cover is close by AND it is away from the enemy THEN run there. Simplified, yes, but I'd think that programming self preservation has to be the easiest part of programming the AI. I don't see why it couldn't have been fixed in CMBB. Gyrene
  11. Were you on a float when you went to Somalia? We C5'd in. We were both in Tustin at around the same time! I was in flightline in the Screw & 363 a couple of line shacks down from yours and across the way from you guys in Hangar 1. (Unless I'm mistaken and you were out of Hangar 2) Gyrene

  13. If BFC came out with a Vietnam CM and you didn't like it, approved of it, had any interest, etc then just do what I did when CMAK came out: Don't buy it. The desert phase of WWII holds little interest to me, but I have no need to expend my energy blasting it as "unworthy" of the CM treatment. It is not unworthy, but it's not for me. I let it go and wait for the next release, if it covers something I'm interested in then I'll buy it. Asking BFC to publish a certain type of game is a fun pastime, but a pointless one. We all know that CM2 will be CMBO redone and after that CM2 part 2 will be CMBB redone. WWII in Europe is BFC's focus and that's where their games will take place. I'd love CM in Vietnam, Korea, PTO, anywhere else, but it's not going to happen. Gyrene
  14. Were the Italians cowards or simply not mindless sheep? The majority of Italian soldiers had the good sense and freedom of thought to not follow their dictator and to be accomplices in his crimes. More than I can say for the German soldier. Gyrene
  15. I'm pretty sure that's a misprint, as FM 3-06.11 (MOUT) states that .50 ball will only penetrate 1" of armour plate at a range of 35m (not exactly long range) or 16" of log wall. 300mm of any metal is a bit much for a .50 cal HMG </font>
  16. So you are all saying that the US Air Force is modelled correctly then? Gyrene
  17. Did Sir, thank you for placing your order with Grog Depot! You have very specific Grog needs and it might take upwards to 10 business days to locate your Grog. In the meantime we'd like to offer a lightly used January 1941, Juba River Grog for your use until your order is fulfilled. Thank you again for your business! Grog Depot.

  19. I daresay you would indeed need to buy such if Mac's market share was larger. But in fairness I was not commenting on Mac stability, only countering Gyrene's implication that ALL Windows OSes are unstable. Certainly that was true up through 98, which had horrible memory leak issues (at least in my experience). But since switching to XP my system's been purring along without a hitch. My Win2K system is also very stable but it's my work PC so it doesn't get the longevity tests that my home PC does (I hate having that one up and running when it's after 6pm). -dale </font>
  20. VirtualPC will not work beyond the basic software rendering we can do in Classic mode already. Gyrene
  21. Being that you have to constantly reboot Windows for all the crashes, patches, worms, viruses and spyware, it's a good thing they reboot fast. It's not an issue, because the PC is just a toy and is not used for anything serious after all. Gyrene
  22. I'll wait for the CMAK demo, then maybe get the Windoze version depending on how I like it. I'll be skipping the Mac version all together. When is CM2 supposed to be out? Btw, I've been running Panther for 2 weeks now and everything is fine so far. It does feel faster than 10.2 (Unscientific benchmark: Corel Painter 8 launches so fast in 10.3 that I don't even get the chance to read the splash screen!) I recommend a clean install instead of an upgrade, to those getting into Panther. Gyrene
