  1. Surely some of you have to be in your 110’s by now? Glad to see some old names still kicking about.
  2. The Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund is an excellent charity with a near perfect Charity Navigator score. (And a great alternative to the somewhat shady Wounded Warrior org) https://semperfifund.org/
  3. Rest in Peace Berli, even though you always gave me crap for being an Air Winger and despite the fact that the closest you ever came to any real action was maybe getting kicked out of bars in Oceanside you had that grunt attitude that cannot be denied. Report to Heaven, Marine. You have watch tonight. Semper Fi.
  4. Glad you are ok Michael, we at dosomefink were wondering what was up with you!
  5. You should have smelled the place 15-20 years ago when there were at least 30 times more cows than there are now. There were roads down towards Prado Dam (And the downhill runoffs) that would melt your sinuses with their pure concentrated cow funk.
  6. Oh yeah...We got a wiki...I kind of forgot about that.
  7. ...Is open to new members once again. Do you fancy bashing Obama or Bush and then talking about growing tomatoes? Do you hunger for braaaaiiinnnzzz while learning about Finnish politics? Are you tired of rolling snake eyes every time you go see a movie? Would you like to tour a dusty old sub-forum that Seanachai once moderated? Do you think that ads suck? Well, brother then do we have a forum for you! You see, there's this place called DoSomefink.com, which was born out of the ashes of the Great General Forum Politics Meltdown of 2005 (You might have read about it in the papers, it was quite an event.) as a place for Combat Mission fans to vent their spleens at each other about topics that are not appropriate for the BFC forums in a somewhat civilized and self-policing environment. Well, it all went great for several years until the SpamBots came. A lot of SpamBots. So we put a rock over the door, ignored the outside world and continued to rant at each other in peaceful bliss until some idjit (me) had the notion that perhaps new blood or returning old fogeys would not be such a bad thing. The other dosomefinkyans agreed, so we rolled the rock away from the door and opened registration once again. If you'd like to join, send a message to dosomefink@gmail.com, with the username you'd like to use and we'll set you up.
  8. Leave it to you lot to turn a joking thread into an actually interesting and intelligent discussion. You sicken me.
  9. The Bren gets double the damage points with that sucker, right? You just can't run with it though.
  10. Or somefink. I can't believe I actually remembered my password.
  11. You couldn't keep the Man from taking your pea shooters away from you if you tried. You're no bin Laden.
  12. If you boot the iMac in Windows using BootCamp then everything will be fine. The game will not work under Parallels.
  13. Do you have Mandy and Karma Kameleon?
  14. Don't forget the piss bottle and what's probably a bottle full of dip spit right behind it. That brings up more memories than anything.
  15. Because we all know the AI had miracle aim when it came to shooting at our tanks.
  16. What? So we can help you practice your invasion plans?? No, thank you sir!
  17. Why is it that the entire time in test #3 I kept waiting for something to jump out and scream at me? You people are getting to me...
  18. Have you tried kicking the box? Works for me.
  19. I think I used to know the answer to this, but why did they cut the grills of the Jeeps leaving only the middle 2 beams? Recognition, or some other practical purpose? Gyrene
  20. Radeon 9800XT, GeForce 6800 GT Ultra DDL, Radeon X800XT. Are these GOOD video cards? Could have sworn they have a Mac version.
  21. I'll bet that you haven't used a Mac in what? 10 years? Ever? OS X (X as in 10, not as in...errmmm X), is a full-on Unix based operating system, which makes it a MUCH BETTER operating system than Windows for many server type things and "serious computer" use well beyond making magazines. It's more reliable than Windows, it's more secure than Windows. It's not Unix-lite, it's not a "Linux rip-off", it's Unix. With the Mac interface and ease of use, but with a shell for you (and me) to type away at if you'd so desire. It will even do X11 out of the box and Gnome with some work. I myself have a XP Pro machine I built myself but I seldom use, because it's chock-full of spyware goodness (I use Firefox, but %$%#$ IE still pops up) and I get tired of updating video drivers for every game I install (Ok, every other game). It needs a Windows re-install bad. I built the PC because I got a sweetheart deal on parts straight from Intel and, yes, the game selection on the PC is waaaayyy better than the Mac's, but if I have a choice between a Mac or PC version of a game, I buy the Mac one even though my Mac is 2 years older than the PC and technically "slower" - The games just work the first time out and they don't make the other games stop working. XP is far more reliable than the other Windows I have used before (That's all of them ), but it's still no OS X. My 4 year old Mac has been on 24/7 for the last 3 and a half years and hosting a website for the last 3. It runs 5 individual MySQL databases, one that is over 92GB in size. It runs Apache and a couple of PHP Forums with over 110 users and some decent amount of activity. I still play 3D games, run Final Cut Pro and watch DVD's while all that stuff is going on in the back ground. Nobody is complaining about the site running slow and all I have a dual 533mhz G4's. Modern Macs are pretty freaking nice. Go check one out, you'll be surprised. Gyrene
