  1. Thats a shame about the latest game all requiring STEAM. The STEAM works fine, but it doesn't allow me to sell or pass on my games without a fee (is it still a fee of $10 to sell or give me STEAM games to someone else? I need to check that out). Until that day comes I doubt that I will buy any STEAM games for the forseeable future...unless CMN is on STEAM! lol
  2. haha Time to put the rest of the you traitors under the boot of The Central North American Republic (such a dull name!).
  3. I have a couple of STEAM games. I think the service is nice, but maybe I'm a luddite in that I do like having the official CDs/DVDs. One service I do like is the GOG.com that carries older games that are completely DRM-free (and they state they update the games to work on Windows XP and Vista)!
  4. Soldiers can enter buildings in the game CMSF. I believe that soldiers cannot enter buildings in the game TOW (theater of war)? I don't own TOW, so I can't say for sure.
  5. Here is a link to the wiki (described as GCBlue) http://gcblue.com/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page#GCBlue_User_Reference
  6. LOL good one! Is that bloke second from left using a russian SMG? And looking at the 3 soldaten on the left, what do the colorful ribbons on the front of their uniforms represent?
  7. LOL "A loose honor system determines combat fatalities, Mr. Kelley explained. Once eye contact is made and you’ve been “shot,” removing your helmet signals you’ve been killed: “No more story for me. That’s it. I’m dead,” Mr. Kelley said wryly. A melodramatic collapse to the ground is entirely optional. “These guys going out, playing bang bang, they think it’s fun,” he said. “Some of the SS guys are superhuman. They don’t fall down no matter how many rounds you put in them. But it’s different when there’s real lead coming back at you.” "
  8. one 'L' cuz I'm a yank! Please read the sticky titled "Important News" for more details! http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=86356 Hunter, please edit your thread title to make it more informative! Thanks! and thanks for all your work.
  9. dang! too bad. Thanks for teasing us along the way!
  10. afaik...lol ...the next slumdog millionaire? Can this film sweep the Oscars in 2009? I heard on NPR about this odd thingy from England called Morris dancing where middle age men wear bells, frills, strange hats and dance around, waving handkerchiefs, or performing what appears to be medieval lightsaber duels with sticks! Well, now this Morris Dancing is a major motion picture for 2009!! Prepare to stand hours in line to see "Morris: A Life With Bells On" film website http://www.morrismovie.com/ real Morris Dancers http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxeU-bwSZLU
  11. No chance of an upgrade to the classics! BF is working on Combat Mission: Normandy using the engine from Combat Mission: Shockforce. You can find info/discussions on CMN in the CMSF forum. happy hunting!
  12. Aircraft and helos are off-screen, but it doesn't detract much from the game imho, ymmv Where do you live? If you live in the states or Canada check the bargain bin at your computer stores for copies of CMSF. Amazon.com sells this fair game starting at $5USD. http://www.amazon.com/Combat-Mission-Shock-Force-Pc/dp/B000PWUZ2Q/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1234651530&sr=8-1 Happy hunting!
  13. Overall, I liked TTRL! The scared-****less expression on Adrien Brody's young soldier face near the end scene is priceless!
  14. Yes, please continue to post your comments on CMX2 Normandy! If we have positive hype of an upcoming game then the game should also take an occasional jab from detractors! nazi tiger image! what else would we expect for hype!
  15. nice! I wish I was rich enough to provide you and your friend with substantial funding for your film. As long as they don't make a piece of celluloid **** like Spielberg's "Saving Private Ryan" OT... I used to love watching teh show Dogfights on the history channel. However, I grew bored with the series when a pattern quickly developed - US kicking German butts, US kicking Japanese butts, US kicking N. Korean butts, US kicking German butts again, US kicking N. Vietnamese butts, US kicking German butts, US kicking more Japanese butts, etc etc (I think they tossed in a Brits kicking German butts and Israeli kicking Arab butts). ok, ok, i get it already, the U.S. and its allies are AWESOME!!! I guess this bias towards US victories makes sense - it's a US production, US audience, US funding(?), easy to find the US combat pilots. I thought it would have been more fascinating if they showed the battle from, say, a N. Vietnamese or N. Korean pilots point of view in going up against the most powerful air force in the world!
  16. I'm just hoping that after BF was 'caught with their pants down' and forced to release a bug-infested CMSF by the distributor(?) that they will be taking their time to release a good, playable CMX2 Normandy product! Even if that means pushing back the CMX2N release date to 2010 or 2011. I think CMSF looks waaaay better than CMX1 games, but for fun and enjoyment I always go with CMX1. ymmv, imho of course Happy hunting!
  17. Get the originals whilst waiting for CM Normandy (I don't expect to see this until 2010...but I wouldn't mind being surprised!) You can find CMBO starting at $3 on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Combat-Mission-Beyond-Overlord-Pc/dp/B00009V4AW/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1234065515&sr=8-9
  18. haha, Yeah, I don't care for the the Saving Private Ryan or Band of Brothers works and I am assuming this would be done in a similar style.
