  1. Yeah, after starting over about 4 times and a couple of saves, finally got a RUS total victory on it. That was a tough sob.
  2. SPOILER ************** Rage - quit as RUS after losing 2 btr and getting each of my squads cut in half in the first 10 mins. OUCH
  3. I'm highly biased towards WW2, but this is very, very damned good. Remarkably polished and the new weaponry is nearly off-putting in its diversity. Lethality is over the top - getting my ax waxed on the first mission against what appears to be a squad and a couple of heavy weapons teams. It's going to take a while to figure out the rock/paper/scissor aspect of the weaponry here. Very impressive title.

  5. Hey guys, In the training campaign, first mission, the Bradleys are identified as M4 75mm Shermans in the Unit ID box. Also, when hovering over the individual small arms in the squad load out box, tank IDs, i.e., M4A3 Sherman appears.
  6. Perhaps the occupants had surrendered? I had no problem with this a few weeks back.

  8. SPOILER [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ If you'll search Troina, there are several threads here, BUT, on the second mission you can run your entire oob up the far right side close to the road in defilade. From there you can crawl something with spotting ability to a location so as to call in arty on a few of the positions. Been well over a year since I played that one. It was like beating my head against a wall over and over trying to go up the middle or in that wooded ravine. I don't remember the particulars from there out, but you can work your way up the hill, then use the terrain to concentrate your fire while isolating individual targets.
  9. Very immersive and engaging. Russian surrender with around 30 min remaining, but I'd thought we'd been largely overrun with just enough time to perhaps concentrate forces and take out isolated pockets. High replayability here.
  10. *****SPOILER****** Yes, as I recall, there is wire right at the bridge and if you blast the wire, the mines will explode sympathetically.
  11. Mine has NZers. Is this a custom scenario you're playing? In any event, I've got my $%^& handed to me several times also.
  12. I don't suppose anyone still has CMx1 installed and could provide a screencap of what I'm talking about? [Edited to add the following:] MikeyD - yes, the effect upon LoS is fine. Again, it is a matter of graphics only. I recall, but never did understand specfically what was being described, that the old cmx1 used something called fog emulation table(s)(?).
  13. I'm seeing fog which really only, graphically, appears "thick" cummulatively and at a distance. The cmx1 stuff I'm talking about was, again visually, about as thick as disapating smoke from mortars. I'll send a screenie.

I've never been a whiner, and probably closer to a fanboi (but really only to the extent of not tolerating what I've perceived as uninformed or ridiculous criticism), but the GL dense fog, just isn't there. I realize it's only a graphic effect, but boy do I miss the cut-it-with-a-knife stuff we had with CMx1. Is there any practical way that it could be introduced in CMx2?
