CM is a reasonably pretty girl who's brilliant, loving, giving, and just about everything you could ever want on the inside. She isn't perfect, but it's easy to overlook her faults. ToW is a hot girl with very little else going for her. PCO is a plain girl that's bitter and dried up on the inside. CC is just plain ugly, inside and out. I know who I'd rather be with over the long haul.

Yours are great, had been using them, but don't work now. Have 'em loading last. Don't have any idea why this is happening. Grrrr.... May have to do a full reinstall. PITA

What translucent tree mods are working in 2.01? When the upgrade came out, I forgot to remove my z folder for the first time ever, and nothing but normal trees ever since. I like translucent so much better than using the nearby trunks only setting.

Much easier to learn good tactics from being overly cautious than from being overly aggressive. Hang in there.

I'm not sure what you mean by "orator" but I've never had any of my troops stand up and do a monologue during combat, so can't answer your question.

Actually, it is. Though BFC could certainly do more with a gigantic budget, the number of things that can happen in a FPS is very limited compared to CM. You're only rendering what is in your LOS at any given moment, not everything that is going on everywhere. Plus with a limited number of maps, it can all be statically preloaded as a much smaller amount of data.

If your friend is comparing it to the average first person shooter with cutting edge eye candy, he needs to know that it isn't rendering anywhere near the calculations that CM is rendering, so it can look nice and not bog down.

This project looks utterly amazing. Anyone who makes scenarios/campaigns deserves accolades, but this appears to be right up there with Paper Tiger, Fredrocker and George Mc's work. One thing that scares me a little is your phrase that the US will have "lots of artillery and air power." IMHO, a tiny bit of airpower goes a long way.

I'm 50 and I remember stock quotes for pbm games. Played a game of Flattop by mail, with several players on each side, that took 4 years to finish. *Cue Archie and Edith* Those were the days.

Thanks for sharing his story. Had never really seen any details about his service. Going through that and then trying to live a "normal" life would take a tremendous amount of strength and faith.
