  1. Wait,...CM is bad? Unpolished? How could I have had hundreds of hours of entertainment from all the titles over the last 13 years? I feel so dirty. Guess several thousand wargamers love us some buggy software.
  2. Also note the 8! hits resulted in a crew bailing out of a vehicle that would be quite repairable if recovered. There is no doubt that large shells transmit a lot of energy to the target and that scares the crap out of crews but it's not like the soviet shells were going through the big cats like butter, even late war with metallurgy problems. But the german hi velocity weapons penetrated everything soviet at reasonable combat ranges.
  3. BFC certainly needs to keep CAS for those that want it, but my opponents and I never use it. That way it's totally realistic. The CAS never saw the target, hit something of opportunity on the way back to base, and missed it all to hell.

  5. Congratulations on not being a new player. If you play it hard core and are on the attack, the AI will be reasonably entertaining. I didn't say it would be challenging, I said if you want any kind of challenge.
  6. But the C & C lines making their grand reappearance in RT will help with that immensely.
  7. If you want any challenge from the AI, you need to play with Franko's True Combat rules. One set is here. It's from CMx1 so you'll have to note the control differences, but it basically keeps you from looking around in God mode and picking your own targets. There's another reference to it here.
  8. Me too, I love recon and don't care how long it takes to do it right.
  9. They'll get there. At the rate they're putting out families, it might not be as long as we thought. Over the past year, they've talked like they will do Africa, which I am very happy about.
  10. It will never overtake WWII or Modern, but I'd be good with CMVN, and especially with CM48, CM67, and CM73.
  11. I'm well aware it may be years, if ever. Still going to be optimistic. No blame for you. Nothing but praise for all the hard work. I'll agree that this is true to a degree, except that it doesn't take "mere minutes" for those of us who's limited gaming time needs to be spent gaming. Making decent maps quickly takes practice, so if the game does that for me, all the better. Only reason I hope we see it back someday.
  12. Glad it isn't off the table. I'll be optimistic for it since we're getting so many features in CMRT that we thought were still far down the pipeline.

  15. Regardless of the total percentage of Russian war output, without lend lease US made trucks (used in the hundreds of thousands), the Russians get to Berlin many months, maybe even a couple years, later.
  16. Not at all. Because of the way Windows looks at permissions, there are many games that go the documents route.
  17. Max included all the files in the download, so I have the core units file. I haven't figured out a way to import that into the editor and change it though. It may be as simple as creating a new core unit that I want and replacing his with that, then compiling it. We shall see. Have never tried to make changes to any campaigns before...
  18. Very believable looking. Makes for great immersion.
