  1. My experience with the hull down command has been that you only want to extend the line as far as you feel comfortable having the vehicle move, as, if hull-down is not found, it will go as far as you have the path drawn. Like so many situations, the cover arc command (generally cover armor) must be used with this to ensure that you reach hull-down relative to a possible target in the area you specify. Shoot and scoot also requires the cover armor command to maximize success. I like to go down to level 1 to put the first waypoint in place in a spot that should have LOS to the potential target, then place the reverse waypoint far enough back that LOS will be lost to possible return fire. Try to pay particular attention to height differences such a ridge, that you can just hit the edge of, shoot, then reverse behind. Then, try to pop-up from a spot that is lateral to the last one, so if your opponent has a narrow cover armor command, you can get the first shot on anyone covering where they expect you to show yourself.
  2. Right now, run and withdraw = dead, IMHO. Which is probably the way it should be. I use advance, or assault if its a short distance, to the rear to get my boys out of harm's way.
  3. Its entirely possible that your particular situation involved the turret's traverse being damaged, so there was no longer any reliable way to aim the gun. Basically, its just that "gun damage" doesn't have to mean that the gun itself was hit. I see no need to change anything.
  4. Major bumpage to this right-at-the-pointy-end-of-the-spear-in-importance project.
  5. I hope so. Your Panthers and HT's from CMBO are exactly what I want all my CMBB German armor to look like later in the war.
  6. Perhaps driving a Kubelwagen cross-country from Germany to The Soviet Union has a deleterious effect on its velocity. (Laden or unladen)
  7. The Mod community is hard at work. While the stock graphics are a real credit to Kwazy and all that contributed, I think that mods definitely make a big difference. Also, one hell of a lot more things to mod than in CMBO.
  8. In that case, total mystery. You might want to email Madmatt the save game. That helps them find and solve problems (if there is one).
  9. You might want to post a spoiler warning when you give out scenario specific info. Now then, I have not played that scenario yet, but is it possible that there were Soviet infantry close by the flag that you were not aware of? That is often the case when thinks are not the way the appear.
  10. The AI certainly finds a way to bunch up many times, but my experience was exactly the opposite of yours. I rarely play a scenario twice (there are too many to enjoy!) but after easily winning this as the Germans (2 KT lost, all Soviet's ko'ed), I had a much tougher time as the Soviets. The AI managed to spread itself out nicely and hit me from several directions. It ended up a draw. Just one of the things, that if you played the same scenario multiple times vs the AI, you would probably see several different types of attack. You just have to hope you get lucky and catch the AI when it has a good idea the first time through.
  11. In CMBB, availability for the Su-100 is 1/45 and after for Northern, Central, and Southern regions.
  12. You play green troops on the attack vs AI with +2 and +50% on the defense. If you get major victories then, you are probably a good player. If you win more than losing against Humans, then you are definitely a good player.
  13. Though the thread is swollen... Keep those idjits trollin... Rawhiiiiide.... Random wind and weather... Panzer crew mods in leather... Wishin' good sense was on his side.... My brains anticipatin' what Battlefronts contemplatin' The patch at the end of our ride... Move em out, Hide em down, Sneak em up, Advance em in, Cover Arc.......Rawhiiiiiiiiiide!
  14. 1.01 should address the range at which AA assets start engaging aircraft. So I suspect it will even out a bit more, with more AC being driven off/damaged/maybe even destroyed.
  15. Not sure what you are really asking here, but if I am correct, you cannot "make" anything. Only use (or mod) the existing hard-coded models and/or terrain tiles.
  16. Franko's will always be the way the play the AI. Its really cool now as a TC on a map with an LOS to a target 2000m+ away, using zoom to look through the binoculars.
  17. You basically have that now. Historical and mods are in here, Gametalk is Tips and Tricks, and General talk is the General Discussion Forum.
  18. CMBB aircraft often make several passes if not driven off by AA. They can theoretically destroy a number of things. If your opponent bunches up armor, a large bomb can destroy/immobilize multiple AFV's. Strafing doesn't usually cause a whole lot of damage, but strafing aircraft typically make a bunch of runs, in my experience. As for AA fire, it isn't quite as tough as it should be due to range of spotting issues and a number of other things, but I believe that the 1.01 patch will correct that. Dedicated AA vehicles can sometimes be effective.
  19. That looks very nice. Just need to dirty up those tracks a bit.
  20. Air support can do tremendous damage. Sometimes, its even done to the enemy. Seriously though, because of its unpredictability, I think most players would much rather spend those points on arty.
  21. When you are issuing orders, while plotting movement, hover the cursor over any walls between buildings to see if it turns red, meaning you can't move from one the next while inside. The thing is, some are rowhouses that do not connect to one another on the interior, while some are buildings that do allow access without going outside.
  22. May be an ammo conservation deal. The crew's trained to only hose the area down if they are sure someone will be bathing in it.
  23. A very good question. Maybe they are saying that once a target is declared, then, and only then, can the fuzing, etc be put into effect, and that takes a few minutes. Or, possibly rockets can't be loaded and left ready 'cuz it runs down the battery to electrically fire them , or somesuch. Would love to hear "why" on this from the voice of authority.
