  1. I haven't played BO since BB came out, but despite the fact that I, too, am salivating for CMAK, I feel confident that I will still play a lot of BB over the next year or two. Problem is, in BO, all my later war Panzers and HT's had beautiful ambush camo like this: I have this for the Mk IV and some of the HT in BB, but I really don't love any of the Panther A/G's, Tiger Mid and Late, and King Tiger mods anywhere out there. Any chance one (or more) of you incredibly talented folks would give 44-45 some grace and consistency?
  2. Loving these Zim. Now get the SU-85 and -100 done so they match!
  3. Sorry Dan, 8 x .50s for the P-47, 6 for the P-51, but still no problem breaking tracks, external stowage etc.
  4. Mikey, Your StuG series for BB is absolutely one of the best mod sets ever. I have and use all your redrawn mods. Now back in the day in BO, everyone complained about too many Panther/Tiger mods. But I am a dedicated modslut and I have every Panther/Tiger/King Tiger mod for BB that has come out, and I don't truly love any of them. (Your King Tiger is nice, and very true to life, but not the scheme I am looking for). I haven't touched BO since BB came out, but I still long for the beautiful, consistent ambush paint that all my 44/45 German AFV's and halftracks had in BO. I have that for many of the HT's, but none of the big cats. Any chance of a Panther/Tiger/King Tiger set along the lines of your StuG's? Pretty please with sugar and desert dust clouds on top? Never hurts to ask....
  5. Awesome GAJ! For anyone who isn't using McMMM, as good as CMMOS was, McMMM is that much better and easier. Truly the bomb diggity.
  6. And thanks to the terrain, etc available in 44/45, you'll also have CMBO again, for the most part, with all the great tweaks. I love the eastern front, but I am looking forward to be able to game Africa, Italy, Russia, and the Western Front to boot.
  7. Ok I'm stupid. I see the link but I'm looking for the link on your site to download the mod's. I only see screens. And the data base link is to CM Mod Database (the one that’s down at the moment)?? So my question is do you have a link on your site to download. </font>
  8. Wonderfully ignorant comments from l33t adolescents that it doesn't look good and its not realtime. The horror...

  10. Maybe I misunderstood him, but I feel pretty good that he wanted a Sherman. Was going to watch it again anyway, now I'll have to, hehe.
  11. I watched all the episodes and enjoyed the fact that they weren't the typical rehash of popular opinions, but were fairly well researched and included actual participants. The most interesting part was listening to the British tankers all say they wish they'd had a Tiger while the German tanker said he wished he'd had a Sherman. The grass is always greener...

  13. They seem a bit more understanding if they were with you when it took all weekend to set-up a Map-and-counters wargame and play a few turns. Five or six hours then doesn't seem so bad... </font>
  14. The most fun and challenge to be had against the AI lies in playing by Franko's True Combat rules. You can print out the map in one of the overhead views prior to setup, but once play begins, you are restricted to level 1 only, unless the unit getting orders is on the 2nd floor of a building, in which case, you can use level 2, or on the 2nd floor of a church, you may use level 3 to simulate being in the steeple. You must use Tab and + or - to rotate through your units until you have given them all movement orders, covered arcs, etc. You may rotate the view from any unit to look all around them, but you may not look from a viewpoint other than the unit itself. You may never give them fire orders, the AI will handle that, and you may never click on an enemy unit. Some people use the n key to change targets if a unit is already firing. It takes a lot of discipline not to cheat, but it makes for a rewarding experience when all you have time or circumstances for is a game against the AI. Attacking becomes very challenging, and defending against the AI can actually be worthwhile as long as the terrain isn't completely wide open to see everything coming. The first time you try to figure out where a routed unit is, after it has gone into thick trees as you wonder which way to move them when they recover is priceless. Also, night and fog make things very tense and interesting. Anyway, try it, you'll be amazed. Its best for commanding two companies or less, but it will work for anything if you have the patience.
  15. I also added kunstler's maps to my QB folder but got the version error message when I tried to look at them in the editor. I suspect its a CDV vs BFC issue. Only thing I can think of since I've been running 1.03 from the day it came out, and there hasn't been another "version" of 1.03.

  17. One small thing that can help, and you'll have to do a search, as I don't recall where I d/led it, is to use the blank turn # mod. That way, after a few turns, you kind of lose track, and, as long as your opponent also uses it, the typcial endgame hijinks, though lessened by the variable ending, are even less likely. Of course, if you number your pbem turns by turn number, it will defeat the purpose, but thats a whole 'nother debate that doesn't need to be dredged up here.
