  1. Strike Leader: Read you loud and clear. Strike force this is strike leader, return to base, mission aborted. F-14 pilot #1: Mission aborted? But we can see 'em! F-14 pilot #2: They're gonna let the Japs do it again.
  2. Georgian defense officials have said they are immediately pulling 1,000 troops out of Iraq.
  3. Awesome bike! Is it hard to get parts for it? I'd love to have a bike with a side car on it. It would make grocery shopping a little easier for one thing. I got into an accident on mine last week, so I won't be able to ride for a little while. The bike came out without too much damage. I need to replace the left foot peg and shifter. Once my knee heals enough to allow my foot to get onto the peg I'll be riding again though. The people I work with tell me I need to get a car. They just don't understand.
  4. They kept the gore to a minimum to get the PG-13 rating. Whether that was the right call is certainly debatable, but I understand why they did it.
  5. We have a Keurig machine here at work. They are certainly convenient. They have some nice flavored coffees available for the Keurig, if you're into that sort of thing. They also have some decent teas available.
  6. I really like Mythbusters as well, but you're right John, it can be frustrating when they screw it up. The one that stands out in my mind is the parting line snap back cutting someone in half test. They used steel line instead of a synthetic line and had it swinging out in an arc with a kind of whip effect by cutting it under tension.
  7. I think it might be fairly standard in first aid kits now, at least the bigger ones. We have it in our first aid kits at work, and it's just your standard office environment. We don't handle anything sharp and pointy except ink pens and the occasional scissors.
  8. It's showing on IMAX here as well. I looked into getting tickets on Friday, but every showing was already sold out for the entire weekend. I've never seen that happen before. Hopefully I can catch it next weekend.
  9. I didn't see a parachute. One guy had a small backpack on, but I seriously doubt it was a parachute. With only the arm straps on it, you'd probably fall right out of it if it was a 'chute.
  10. Wait, there are tacos served here???
  11. I don't have a big fear of heights, and most people would say I'm a brave guy, but holy **** those guys are insane!!! What's the name of the song in that video?
  12. Here's a picture of my pet opossum. He wandered into my yard one night. He isn't really dead, he is just pretending. Since he isn't really dead, I figured it wasn't disrespectful to take his picture. He seems to enjoy curling up and pertending to be mangled and dead. Here is a picture of my friend holding him. My friend pissed him off on purpose to get him to growl and show his teeth.
  13. Yeah, get Civ4 + Beyond the Sword. I've been playing it pretty solid since it came out. It's one of the few games that have kept my interest over time (CM being the other one). It would be nice to get one last patch for the game though, to fix the things they broke with the last patch.
  14. Very interesting. Hopefully when the experts figure out what it was the media will let us know too.
  15. I kind of forgot about CMC. It's been a loooong time coming on that one. Speaking of waiting a long time; I'm looking forward to Spore. I guess that's the only one on my list right now; although, if CMC comes out I'll get it.
  16. There is another cheat where you can make your air support attack every turn and never run out of bombs. I'm not going to tell anyone how to do it, but it was used against me once. This could happen accidentally though, so you can't say with 100% certainty that your oppenent is purposely cheating. In the end, this cheat is pretty useless though, because it's so obvious when you see it.
  17. Another reason to get a non-widescreen model is the viewable area of the screen will be bigger. A 20" diagonal 4:3 screen is 16 inches x 12 inches = 192 square inches A 20" diagonal 16:9 screen is 17.4 inches x 9.8 inches = 171 square inches
  18. I like the gridded terrain myself. Some people hate it though (they say it takes away the "realistic" look). It certainly helps me find those small elevation changes.
  19. I played a meeting engagement where both sides lost all their tanks early in the game. Each of us helf the flags that were closest to us at the start, and the infantry of both sides was waiting for the assault on the flag they owned. And waiting, and waiting, and waiting.... Both of us figured that without support the infantry attacking would get chewed up. The game ended in a draw. The last 2/3 of the game was boring as hell.
  20. This is a big one for me. Has a fix been put in for this in 1.03? If it isn't being fixed is there a proper way to switch over so that one player doesn't lose a turn?
  21. Hey Mike, this has happened to me as well. It happened 3 times in the past 2 weeks. In each case I had my opponents resend the file and then it worked. The only difference is that in my case the PBEM starts to load and then when the sound loads (background noises like wind) it loops and the computer freezes with the hard drive light on constantly. I have to reboot. I think the reason that mine freezes and yours doesn't is due to you using XP and me using 98. This never happened to me before two weeks ago either.
