  1. So what's the point in modifying the casualty bitmaps if there's not going to be a lot of blood? Maybe Tiger wanted to make little crosses because he didn't like the bodies lying on the field. Mord. [ 07-23-2001: Message edited by: Mord ]
  2. How is it that everytime blood is mentioned in this game it becomes "GORE" and "FLYING BODY PARTS" and any other multitude of nasty buzz words that make it sound like the requesting party is some kinda blood thirsty lunatic? I find that very funny. I'd like to be able to moddify the casualty BMPs is this possible? We don't need the GORE and INTESTINES hanging out of the soldiers. We don't want to see FLYING BODY PARTS AND PROJECTILE BLOOD VOMIT flying from our soldiers. Your evil and vile and need a psychiatrist you sick puppy. How dare you even suggest such a thing! The casaulty marker isn't even a visual representation of anything in the game. It has no baring on anything in the game. I for one am offened it is even in the game. It insults my fragile and very civilized sensiblities! Heathen! Uh... I just wanted to be able to change the BMPs. Well welcome back Tiger. I wouldn't blame you if you never came back to this board. I'm contemplating that myself. I'm tired of the arrogance. Mord [ 07-23-2001: Message edited by: Mord ]
  3. Well Manx, I think you do a hell of a job on your site. I have yet to see you post any mods that didn't look nice. And everything else is just fine too. I'll tell you, it's nice to have choices. Choice is a great concept and thanks for supporting it. Some people may know more about WWII than others on here, but so what, what is that gonna get them on the street in the real world? It's nice in the fact that you can ask a question and know you will get an answer, that helps for the less informed like me. But for said self proclaimed experts to give you **** for the content you post on your website, well that's pure arrogants. CM is a game that we all love. That's what has brought us all here and makes us visit your great site. For anyone to raise hell with you and to critisize others work because they are not as knowledeable about WWII is a bunch of uppity bull. WWII is one event in a world of thousands of years of events. I find it funny when other people take on a holier than thou attitude because they know more about a particular subject than someone else. Usually these types of people who critisize other's because they are not as smart about a particular subject are making up for their own inferiority complexes or are just assh**es in general. I say take your vacation and don't even think about this. F*ck Them! You do a great job. Have a good time and know you have atleast one guy who supports your's and all the other modders's, scenario designers's, and article writers's efforts. Mord [ 07-15-2001: Message edited by: Mord ]
  4. Mord, Do you mean something like this YES! Gimme! Mord
  5. Has anybody considered going after any of the Churchills/Cromwells in hires? Mord
  6. Great news fellas! Has anybody considered going after any of the Churchills/Cromwells in hires? I'd love to see these brought up to the new high, set in the last few months? All of you Modders have done a great job for us CM addicts and Mod Sluts and are highly appreciated! Sounds like I am gonna have to burn a new Mod CD here by the time all this stuff is done! BTW when the hell is the one man armor factory, Tiger, gonna come outta retirement? If you are out there Tiger you are missed. You are one of the guys that helped reshape the look in which we play CM. Retired but not forgotten! Mord [ 07-08-2001: Message edited by: Mord ]
  7. What do you guys have in the pipeline next? What is up and coming for us all to salivate over. Mord
  8. Also, is there any interest in a mod for my vote of the ugliest tank in the ETO- the Churchill VI / VII / VII / Crocodile? I have started one which is only in alpha stage, but it has been on the back-burner for a while now. Is anyone interested in this AFV? HELL YES! Mord
  9. When I received my copy my feet didn't touch the ground all the way from my mailbox to my apartment. Which is about 200 feet or so. When I opened it up and only saw the book I screamed "Sonuvabitch!" Mass panic began to set in. I thought i'd have to wait for god knows how long to get this corrected. Then all was well when I opened the book. LOL! Along with the wait, I think that is part of the initiation. Mord
  10. Combat Mission:It's all fun and games 'til your Sherman brews up. Combat Mission: Virtual Viagra for the Historically Impotent. Combat Mission:Weeding out the Gamey Bastards one Quick Battle at a time. Mord.....I tried. [ 06-30-2001: Message edited by: Mord ]
  11. I had a decent fight at a four way intersection in a city battle. This was hard fought turf. Their was a rubble tile about one tile from the actual intersection that the germans were using as cover. They kept trying to push back my US squads that were using the surronding buildings on the opposite side of the intersection as cover. One builiding changed hands twice:major hand to hand going on in there. Well to make a long story when all was said and done. 139 or so germans lay in the street and one Panther was knocked out. This was just one area of the over all battle. It was pretty impressive for such a small stake. Mord ADDENDUM: I know alot of the guys on here really get off on the armor to armor battles but for me it's the infantry fights that always stand out. I love the games where it gets hot and heavy and the lead is flying for some tiny little patch of grass or some half demolished building. It even gives me the willies sometimes to think how that must have been! Don't get me wrong, I do like a few AFVs to spice it up though, especially when the Infantry have to overcome it. But Rifle/Grenade Vs Rifle/Grenade is where its at! [ 06-30-2001: Message edited by: Mord ]
  12. I found a book recently at Barnes and Nobel, haven't bought it yet, that is a single volume WWII. But damn if I can remember the name (I think it was just WWII) or who wrote it. This thing is almost a foot thick! Lots of pics from what I saw and some maps and such. I remember that it's in the bargain section for $30.00 bucks, the guy that wrote it is Ex-Military and the cover is a greenish tan? Anybody have a clue as to what the hell I am talking about here? Does it sound familiar to anyone? Anyway if you are in the US try checking the huge ass bargain section at your local Barnes and Nobel. They usually have a section set aside for History. I have made some excellent purchases there. I found a copy of To Hell And Back in hardcover for $7.00. Not a bad price. Mord
  13. Back during the BB crash there was a thread where Steve stated they would begin the engine rewrite after CMBB came out. I remember this distinctly, but I can't remember which thread. It may have been wiped with some of the other threads that didn't make it. Wether that has changed I don't know, but he did say it. Mord.

  15. I just took out 8 episodes of The World At War from the library this weekend and was amazed at how well it held up over the years. I found it very entertaining, educational, and shocking. This is a documentary that is fairly unflinching in it's depictions. There were quite a few visceral scenes. The pacific in particular had some pretty hardcore footage. I didn't see all twenty six episodes though so I can't say how great it is all around. What I did see sure didn't bore me either! I'd say it is WELL worth a watch. Two Thumbs Up from me. Mord.
  16. Or recolor the fog, say a brownish yellow, and have the whole battle field dusty. This would give everyone dust, it just wouldn't come off every vehicle as they moved. it'd be all around, like how it would be once everything goes into action. Mord
  17. No Problem. I like to help whenever I can. Anytime I can answer a question I surely will! Mord
  18. Because the helmet BMP has to be white I don't think a one goes infront of this one. It's the same through out the game. I personally don't like the allied white helmet. I use green with white jacket and regualr colored pants. Mord
  19. Seeing that nobody has stepped up to the plate, I did alittle searching and found these numbers for the Axis Tank Driver Uni. 5030: I am presuming this is the Hat. becareful with this cause it isn't anything like the helmet BMP. You'll probably have to hand paint it or something. 5031: this is the Torso or chest area BMP. 5032: this is the arm BMP. 5033 I think this is the leg. But it might be the side panel for the chest. You'll have to experiment to find out which. And that is all that I can find. Depending on what BMP 5033 is, there is either a leg BMP that is misiing and is shared with another BMP or there is a side torso/chest panel missing that is shared with another BMP. Hope this helps you out. It's the best I can come up with. I am suprised Maximus didn't pop in here and answer your question. He may know more. Good Luck. Mord.
  20. ICM the uniforms that don't change during winter are the ones for tankers and other big armored vehicles. The reason is that I guess no one winterized these unis. The other vehicles that have winterized unis are that way because they take and use the same model that the infantry uses. Just rename a uni to fit the tanker's uni but put a "1" infront of the corresponding numbers. Hope that made sense! A little garbled. Mord [ 06-22-2001: Message edited by: Mord ]
  21. I agree with you on the animations of the units when in a close quarters situation and in general. I am sure it will be improved down the road as the engine progresses. For now this is a part of the game I turn on the super 3D processesor that lies between my ears and I get to see some pretty intense hand to hand using that. Blood I'd like to see. I have always been a sick bastard like that, but only in my games. I don't mean during combat but in the after math of a battle. For me it adds to the visceralness <-is that a word) of the situation. But I doubt it will happen and I can live with that. It was a hotly debated topic here for a long while. And one I am not looking to get into now so hold your flame throwers people. I do hope that the casualty markers will rise above one man per unit in the future. I am very glad that they had that in the game at all. You really get a sense of hard fought objectives when you see all those dead and wounded soldiers laying around in one area after a battle. Many times I have sat back and said "Wow there was some seriously bitter fighting going on for this little piece of terrain!" Oh! Welcome and enjoy CM! There are a ton of mods out there. Head over to Manx's site and check out his listing of them. It'll make your head swim. Mord. [ 06-22-2001: Message edited by: Mord ]
  22. I am starting to wonder if our esteemed comrade Mr. Dorosh has a Jolt/coffee mixture for blood! Does the man ever sleep? He is the James Brown of web masters. Not to mention our ever vigilant Super "where'd I put the No Doze" Ted standing on the front lines awaiting updates. You are the true Forward Observer. Mord. P.S Mike what the hell are you gonna do when CMBB hits?! LOL! Atleast you won't have to do a site for the Finns I think that'll be well taken care of [ 06-21-2001: Message edited by: Mord ]
  23. Just when I think I am all WOWed out and have seen all the impressive stuff I am gonna see with this game, someone comes along and WOWs me again. It's been one hell of a 4 days for CM mods. Unbelievable! Well F**king done! Mord
