  1. Just looking at the picture, is it less of an impassable object than a nice way to expose the underbelly of the AFV?
  2. MikeyD just reminded me... ...prior to the CMBB release I was wondering why I'd want to fight with the small calibre tanks after the monsters of CMBO. But I really enjoy them... ...they allow the infantry to have a chance and make the games more interesting. You can lose your armor without losing the game. Oh, yeah. The Panther is a monster.
  3. Care should be taken though. Know when to cancel an arc (I’ve had some troops get slaughtered because I failed to remove the arc). I’ve also missed an ambush when a tank rolled into my arc, but then rolled out of it just before he acquired. The troops started taking fire and didn’t launch his munitions—but it appeared as if he lost interest in the tank once it exited the arc. Had there been a column of tanks, that would have been a good result (maybe). In this instance, I lost a chance at a kill.
  4. Interesting. This just happened today in a QB. I had a 75mm gun in woods, dug in as a defender. I killed my opponent's AFV with said gun. He complained in the return file about his AFV not having LOS to the gun, but my gun obviously having LOS to his AFV. I called him French for whining so much... ...but me may have had a point?
  5. The patch on Wednesday!!!!! But I want it now!!!! Shuddup ya whiners. Since I started playing games in this series my attention has not been diverted to ANY other games (other than MS Train Sim for my train nut kid!). And will not be until the ENGINE RE-WRITE IS DONE!!!! My desire for it is transcended (in the short term) by my desire for the EXTENDED VERSION OF THE TWO TOWERS!!! To each his own, but my original CDs sit with my marriage license, bonds, and other junk in the fire resistant case. (Actually, my CMBO CD was a backup from BTS because the aforementioned train nut kid took the CMBO CD and it has been nary seen since!!!! And BTS sent that backup on THEIR DIME!!!!)
  6. Kiss your life good-bye. Don't blame me or BFC...
  7. Didn't get screwed either time (BO and BB) and both times I gave them money as a pre-order (the first time well before the game was ready for release!).
  8. Mutual ceasefire, draw. I had sniffed out the AT capabilities without losing armor-- and just as I was going for the jugular in a three pronged attack (including a full coy across the length of the courtyard!)-- the IL-2s showed and killed all my armor. I had taken enough casualties I needed the armor support for the final push. Great little scenario.
  9. The full movie playback is a long-requested feature. BTS is aware of our desires and have yet left us unfulfilled. They did state it was something wanted to get too in CMBB (but ran out of time). Welcome. Both BO and BB are stellar games. Haven't bought another game for myself since pre-ordering BO. At US45 it is a steal!
  10. oohh... like the german version of the game. looks so much more... official.
  11. Headshot-- That's the best. Done. Think we can get Charles to code that up? Tanker pops out, pulls pants forward looking down with horror...
  12. I'm certain this has been brought up before, but after working a hunter/killer team within slinging distance of a pesky KV-1 over 15 turns... ...and watching the brave trooper sling his munitions at the tank... ...and knock it out, I really wanted a little more than a "hit". I don't know what in particular, but I watched the KO three times and each time felt the same amount of dissatisfaction with such a perfunctory declaration: "Hit".
  13. I get it. That's pretty funny. They're canadian! Whoa! That's a laugh riot. (2nd game of CMBO out of the plastic wrap had me incinerating a poor schreck team in a house.) (Candians... that get's me every time...) [ December 19, 2002, 06:22 PM: Message edited by: -Havermeyer- ]
  14. Yeah but your rook and bishop still get worn out too fast sneaking all the way across the board...
  15. Colonel: He means my tree mod at the CM Mod Database</font>
  16. AHA ALL IS REVEALED! CMBB is one of those puzzle games! Never was much good at them myself,I've been stuck in The Hobbit on the Spectrum for the past 20 years!Hope I can figger out CMBB a lot quicker than that!</font>
  17. Haven't seen your issues, Mr. LFool. I must say Steve is right about paying attention to what the TacAI does against your commands. I lost three AFVs in 1 turn thinking I knew how the battle should go against what I thought was a pushover AFV with exposed flank. Fortunately, the TacAI pulled the another three AFVs well out of LOS of the offending vehicle and preserved at least the semblence of my right flank.
  18. I'm having comp problems so my disk is yet unused, though I am plowing through the manual. Haven't gotten to the part about arty adjustment-- but I will pay VERY close attention when I get to it. Please clarify for me. If the rounds (beyond the spotting round) come in way off target, me, the user with mouse, needs to move the line a little bit to get the rounds to fall on target? What's the blinking point of that? I bought fricking the spotter and he's supposed to do that work for me in the game!!! When my tanks miss I don't go back over to them and retarget a line that is on target so they get the idea I want them to hit the target I've already targeted them to hit? Or should I be doing that?
