Looks like one for the eye twitching, mouse clicking crowd. Give me CMBB and quit bothering me with these wanna-bes. Hi Mom! -

Help needed for new King Tiger mod
bfamily33 replied to Gordon's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
WoW! I'm looking in my crystal ball and I think I see tricolor/ambush and hasty camo schemes. Yes? -
That's right, after having made so many mods I never knocked out a scenario, until now. Go figure? Many months ago I created a map for the BoB Stormfront Campaign. Well, I finally got some free time on my hands and I've gone ahead and turned that map into a full-fledged battle called - "TO TAKE A VILLAGE". While fictional, it's one with plenty of action. I'm not sure I got the force balance correct but we'll see. There's nasty surprises if you play as the U.S. and constant pressure if you play as the Germans. Glider Troops, Paratroops, Heer and SS make it particularlly bitter. I can promise that the battlefield will be strewn with above average debris at the end of this one. Hope you enjoy it. You can find it at the Scenario Depot, of course. [ April 02, 2002, 11:38 PM: Message edited by: bfamily33 ]

Hey guys, I think we may be waiting awhile on this. I e-mailed Murpes a week or so ago and no response yet. He must be focusing on real world issues.
-
Murpes: We need that wheat, barley and hops mod now! Is it done?
-
About three/four weeks ago someone posted a nice wheatfield mod. Was it ever released? I can't seem to tack down that old thread. Thanks.

Simulating trenches in CM:BO
bfamily33 replied to Frenchy's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Frenchy: I like your idea. I tried using the rough terrain bitmap but applied the dirt road texture to the bitmap. The result is a more dirt looking trench that acts like rough terrain (cover and bars vehicles). I also applied the rough terrain three tiles wide when generating the map. Unfortunately, that's probably too wide to be realistic. I'll try posting a pic but my hosting service usually doesn't work: -

This all sounds interesting. Can you guys start posting pics of the various choices: Wood/Road; Rough; Rough/Wall; etc. Just when I thought I was done playing Frontovik for awhile you had to go an model trenches -

Makjager: How right you are. I thought that was the side of the undercarriage above the suspension. bf
-
Jorge MC / Eric: Could I suggest you darken up the undercarriage so it doesn't have that splotchy camo look and also darken the tracks on the front and turret. Feel free to cut/paste off one of my Tigers. Other than that, looks real nice.

New " BATTLE OF THE BULGE " mod ! ( large pics inside )
bfamily33 replied to a topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Tom / Gordon: I'm just being a wiseguy. Carry-on. Better yet, take a break a watch the games. Those UmberFinns just placed first and second in the Nordic Combine. I think that supports that other thread about them having two hearts not to mention two Olympic medals. -

Oh I get it now, he didn't mean 10 days, he meant 10 fortnights. I shall go watch the Olympics and check back in a fortnight. At least they have snow! -
That's a pretty impressive field. Look at the crops it grows - the 'U.S.K. STEWUART' which clearly is the product of mixing the DNA from a US M5A1 with UK M5A1.

Apache: Here's the a pic of the vehicles I use for the Frontovik - eastern front campaign. Per above, these are NOT all my mods. Kitty's King, Tiger's Tiger, Max's Panther, Clark's Kubelwagen, Brunelle's Jagdpanther, etc.. -
AAAUUUGHH! What happened to Scipio's Sounds?
bfamily33 replied to Captain Wacky's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Oh no! - the opening tune wil be "Its a bald world after all, its a bald world after all ..." -
The road is Tiger's rutted road. Probably available in Manx's files on CMHQ or at Tom's site.

The difficulties of MODing?
bfamily33 replied to Herr Kruger's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Herr Kruger: Start with something easy. Take the minefield sign. Paint it red and write "Don't Step Here!" in black. Once you've done that, you'll be on that slippery path to mod land. However, kiss your normal life goodbye. -

CMModManager not working under Windows XP?
bfamily33 replied to JigVictor07's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
That stinks! I'm not upgrading until I know XP runs CMBO and the ModManager! Gates better get people working on it. I also heard, on the news, there's also an upgrade / download (from MS web site) to increase the security. Something about the personal / home XP version being more at risk to being hacked when you're on-line. Don't you just hate bugs! Of course, if CMBB doesn't run on my current system I may have no choice but move towards XP.
