  2. My problem of understanding: The attacker has more troops then the defender, because his expected casualities are much higher. So for example: we have only one small flag, worth 100p. The attacker (4500pp) takes the flag, both sides (defender 3000pp) loose the half of their forces: Attacker = -2250 (own casualities) +1500 (enemy casualities) + 100 (victory location) = -650 score for the attacker Defender = -1500 (own...) +2250 (enemy...) = +750 score for the defender That doesn't appears to be okay, but I'm really not sure about this. ------------------ Keine Gefangenen! 3. IMO, and Assault is an attack with around +16% purchase points, while a probe is an attack with -10% pp...so what the difference between a probe/assault and an attack with handicap/opportunity? ------------------ Keine Gefangenen! 4. My great weapon encyclopadia says that around 400000 wer delivered between February 44 and March 45, mostly used on the East Front. A must have in CM2. FG42s - rare. Only 3000 or so of both types were ever made and by 1944 it would be pretty rare to see one in combat. 5000-7000 were produced, mostly AFTER Summer 1944. ------------------ Keine Gefangenen! 5. Well, I won't restart the discussion about the realism of my guideline again , so I better say: it's my personal opinion that the few platoons or maybe a company hadn't usualy heavier support then by small mortars and light 75mm artillery. Maybe it's superflous, I haven't proof all possible cases, but I guess it's anyway not possible to purchase 105mm (or other) artillery in the smallest sized battles because of the lack of purchase points. I only included them for completeness. Question answered? ------------------ Keine Gefangenen! Visit my Combat Mission Sound Mods site! Scipiobase Join the Blitzkrieg Wargaming Club
  6. I prefer a wireless MS wheelmouse. Yes it's a bit heavier then a mouse with tail because of the (storage) batteries, but that's no problem - I don't run around with it. And I'm already a big boy . ------------------ Keine Gefangenen! Visit my Combat Mission Sound Mods site! Scipiobase Join the Blitzkrieg Wargaming Club

  8. OOOHPS, I noticed several errors in the table. I revised them. Please proof them on my site. ------------------ Keine Gefangenen! Visit my Combat Mission Sound Mods site! Scipiobase Join the Blitzkrieg Wargaming Club
  9. Well, if you prefer : I made a guideline to give players with lower interest on artillery a guideline for a balanced purchase. Damned hair splitter . But thanx for the hint. I changed the text on my site to avoid further discussions about the realism. ------------------ Keine Gefangenen! Visit my Combat Mission Sound Mods site! 10. Yep, I noticed it, too. I fire on a light wood with 60mm Mortars, and it catches fire in rain weather. Well, I guess it's possible that some flames sparkle for a minute, but the rain should put them out very quick. Same in other wet conditions like fog and maybe snow - but I can't remember burning wood in the snow... ------------------ Keine Gefangenen! Visit my Combat Mission Sound Mods site! 11. Pals, I understand your arguments, but don't see the sense of the discussion. The guideline is as optional as the rules of 75/76. If you won't use them, don't do it. It was only my intention to offer a clear rule for those who have seen enough oversized barrages. I guess the most of my former opponents would be glad if I had developed the guidelines earlier . ------------------ Keine Gefangenen! Visit my Combat Mission Sound Mods site! 12. Yes, their's a small, nearly unknown sentence about it, but only a limitation of the caliber - I could still purchase a half dozen or more 105mm/155mm in a 3000pp battle (depend on the force type). ------------------ Keine Gefangenen! 14. Okay, I made some tests, and yes, it seems to be 'Idiotic Gunners'. Not always, but sometimes it happens. Well...if I look around how some people act in the real life, it can be seen as realistic that we must have idiotic gunners, too. ------------------ Keine Gefangenen! 15. Maybe some of you get bored (like me) by the big barrages and monster shells that can be seen in much battles - okay, mea culpa, mea culpa . Well, maybe some of you are interested to have a guideline for a - IMO - more realistic purchase. Of course, it's always an agreement between the players. You find it on my site. ------------------ Keine Gefangenen! Visit my Combat Mission Sound Mods site! Scipiobase Join the Blitzkrieg Wargaming Club

  17. Good points, BUT - concerning the 76mm AT - I guess after one or two or maybe three unsuccessfull attempts to take out a tank with normal AP it's really time to try a tungsten-shell. ------------------ Keine Gefangenen! 18. Okay, but we still have the ammo problem. ------------------ Keine Gefangenen! Visit my Combat Mission Sound Mods site! Scipiobase Join the Blitzkrieg Wargaming Club
  19. I'm looking for an overview of all known CM scenarios, the originals included, with parameters for axis/allies forces, size etcetera. ------------------ Keine Gefangenen! Visit my Combat Mission Sound Mods site! Scipiobase Join the Blitzkrieg Wargaming Club
  20. How the Panther vs 76mm AT ended. The 76mm placed one more hit with an AP shell which broke up, then was taken out by the Panthers first shot. That's very annoying BTS, would be nice if you have a serious talk with all gun crews. ------------------ Keine Gefangenen! Visit my Combat Mission Sound Mods site! 21. Boys, it's really frustrating how you answer serious questions. The Königstiger was the first German tank, designed 1916 by Seiner Majestät, Kaiser Wilhelm II. It was equipted with a 800mm canon, weight 1344 metrical tons and had a crew of about 1500 men. It was the main reason why Germany won WW1. BTW, what is a 'book'??? ------------------ Keine Gefangenen! Visit my Combat Mission Sound Mods site!
