  4. That's not correct, there was many foreigners in the Totenkopf units (which was assigned in the KZ), too. About the Waffen-SS, they had some elite divisions like the normal Wehrmacht, too, but wasn't generally an Elite.   5. So much talking about the scale... every arty spotter represents 4 Artillery squads with one barrel. Take a 105mm with 100 rounds, this means 25 rounds each barrel. That's not to much. In my military service, my battalion had 1 staff company, 3 infantry companys and 1 heavy company (where I served), with AT-rockets and SIX 120mm selfpropelled mortars! PLUS several heavy Artillerybattalions from the Division. And that's only the nominal strengh in peacetime.   7. Wow, one day not visited the forum, and I nearly missed the discussion I started . My inital thought was: if the attacking side (the one who wants the flag) wasn't able to take it til a specified time, they should be unable to turn it to '?', but should still be able to turn the flag to it's own color. After reading all the posts, I realize that 'control' is not easy to define. Also, if I don't secured my VL so wise and in a wide area, then it's my problem if the enemy successfully break throught and neutralize it, what can be already an military success! This is an very important point. Let's look at Stalingrad. Non of both sides had really control of it for several month - bud nevertheless, the russian wasn't able to use the river Wolga as transporting way. I agree: we don't have a VL problem in CM.   9. We've already seen it all, in the last minute the opponent starts a storm on the VLs to 'steal' you the points. Okay, I've already done it, too. Nevertheless, it sucks, and I guess it's a bit unhistoric. Ideas? My favorite : from a random point in the last 3-5 rounds, the VLs can't change to '?'. They can only taken abolutly, this means, the attacking side must REALLY take them and destroy/drive away all enemy. Routed/Paniced etc units doesn't count. ------------------ Keine Gefangenen! I whould like to see more custom settings for Quickbattles. a) preset number and scattering-range of the VLs (and also no VLs) troopselection like in the scenario editor - if I buy engineers, I won't buy two flamethrowers all the time, too, for example. c) free set of the purchase points. Why bind them to preset levels? d) skip the difference of probe, attack and assault. At last a probe is an attack with purchase-handicap and an assault an attack with purchase-advantage e) maps with rivers would be nice f) a briefing screen for both players which shows all settings.   16. An interesting question, I never thought about it before. When I look on the equipment they had I can't figure out what kind of troop they should be. If they had demo charges and flamethrowers, I would say 'Assault engineers', but they have non. If they would be equipped with a lot of SMG, MP-44 and LMG, I would think a light infantery assault group for close combat and/or housefighting, but they have mainly rifles. The only reference I could find on Assualt Groups leads to German troops of the WW1, used for small, local attacks. But we aren't in WW1. BTS, can you explain? ------------------ Keine Gefangenen!   22. I can't remember that I've seen it before 1.12, but now I see for several times that roads goes in zigzag lines, what makes it very difficult to use them.
