1.
quote:
Originally posted by Terence: Hey, I just installed your entire sound mod package this morning. It is really really good. As much a change in the game as the terrain and vehicle mods. And if you say the rifle needs to be changed, well, I'll change it, and that right happily! So, should I download the entire infantry weapons package and convert from MPE to wav and copy all of them over, or is the Rifle mp3 or wav one posted separately somewhere?

You have to download the whole Infantry package - I want to avoid a mess and missunderstandings by placing an update package. But of course, you only need to replace the rifle files. It's the files 00000401 - 00000405
 2. Folks, please excuse my incompetence! I noticed that my last rifle sound mod sound like **** from distance. They doesn't even sound like a carbine! I made a new, more 'traditional' sound for the rifles. It's included in the 'Infantry Weapons' package. Download it at WarfareHQ [ 06-26-2001: Message edited by: Scipio ]
 3.
quote:
Originally posted by Captitalistdoginchina: Some more info - whan it starts downloading it shows the file size as about 750 kb or something like that, but after one minute or so the download complete box comes up but the file size is shown as 57.6 KB......me thinks i am not getting the whole package. Anyone care to e-mail it to me? Cheers in advance. CDIC

File transmitted
 4. Hi pals, thanx for your good critics. I'm very happy that you like my sounds . Please excuse the difficulties with the MP3-tool, I have forgotten to put the HowTo file in the zip (it's included now). For all who have already downloaded here's the text:
quote:
After downloading and installing the mp3-tool start the tool and select 'Configure'. On the right side, you can set the decoder settings. Choose outputformat 'wav'. Select the output directory. You can choose the path to the wav subfolder in your CM-folder if you want. In this case you must check also 'always overwrite'. You can also choose any other directory you want, of course. Then unzip the downloaded files and select in the mp3decoder Decode (MP3 2 wav). On the left you must specify the path to folder with the unzipped mp3 files. In the middel you should see then a list of filenames like this "00000200.wav" Mark all files you want to decode, click on '>>' and then on 'decode'. The decoding will take a moment, you should see a status message while decoding. If you haven't choosen the CM-wav subfolder as output directory, you must now manually copy the files into it. You must overwrite the existing files. Don't panic, you have the original sounds saved on you CM-CD. Start CM Enjoy!

[ 06-24-2001: Message edited by: Scipio ]
 5.
quote:
Originally posted by *Captain Foobar*: OK you Audio Geniuses.. someone custom build me new ambient sounds!!! I want some variety.. Heck, just rip off some other video game, or movie soundtrack.. I want this finsihed by the end of the weekend. Thank you very much, now get to work.

Foobar, I would do it...the only problem is, the 9 or 10 ambient sounds makes a 100 MB download. I won't think about it before I find a free MP3pro tool to pack/unpack the files. This would reduce the files size below 10 MB, I think
 6. Folks, Scipio Base closed the gates. I have all my mods now available at my new home WarfareHQ And much more important for you : I added a bunch of new sound mods for rifles, MPs, Pistol, tank/AT guns... Enjoy!
 7. Omar Bradley here... should I now change my callsign?
 8.
quote:
Originally posted by DasBaron: ...One of the things I like the most about these type of games are the people. Cream of the crop in my opinion. And it seems this game has started a deep and interesting fan base...

Sorry, this is a big missunderstanding! This is not a fan site, it's a self-help group for addicts

 14. Only an idea I had in the bathtube . Wouldn't it be nice if we had additional to the Summer/Spring and the Winter textures a third set : Fall? Of course I don't know how difficult it would be to revise the game engine for this - we already have something similiar for the trees - but I guess BTS doesn't must think about the bmps itself. CMBO was delivered with only a few winter textures, and now I don't think that a single of my units wears a summer uniform in snow . And BTW, is it possible to give the Gebirgsjäger a completly own texture set?
