Perhaps a group of "beta testers" could be started. These testers could receive mods from mod authors or site authors, and test them out for those pink lines and accuracy. To do this the tester might well need a colour book of WW2 AFVs. kmead: No need for 'pologizin', I just bumped the topic and added a comment.

SHERMAN PLAIN PACK OVERLOAD
M. Bates replied to PawBroon's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Connection failures with both links. -
On the subject of the "look" of tanks... The Sherman to me looks quite good. It looks like a "workhorse" type of vehicle which I suppose it was. Some of the German designs (Jagdtiger, Tiger II, Hetzer) look alien like, very futuristic. Then again when you look at the Jagdtiger and the Maus it's clear to see the depths to which German design had sunk.

New ALLIED Images!!!! Come and See!!!!
M. Bates replied to a topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Patriotism tends to give otherwise sensible people stupid ideas about their own country in relation to others. It's good to view WW2 objectively. It was two generations ago, I don't really see why I should sympathise any more with a Commonwealth general or soldier than an American or Soviet. -

But Rupert different countries and cultures have their own "flavour". Some are more nationalistic and some less so. -
Isn't this thread the equivalent of chasing a burgular into a crowded street, getting tired, then pulling out a gun and shooting everyone in the street? I can clarify if need be!

Don't expect European efficiency. Having said that I expect that some corrupt, mad, slavering postal worker on the east coast of the USA is enjoying your copy of CM right now! HAHAHA!

The top one looks like a postcard. "YEAH I HAVE SENT YOU THIS POSTCARD, I SAW LOTS OF BUNKERS IN NORMANDY. THE LOCAL PEOPLE ARE NICE AND THEY SPEAK FRENCH. CHOW!" -
Bergman All U.S. Sherman Plainpack RELEASED!
M. Bates replied to Old Dog's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Any chance of getting a link to these Shermans? so far we've had 3 topics of hype on these mods and no one can get them yet. -

Doesn't sound right. I think it is Command + Shift + 3. -
All of you hypocrites should shut up or jump off a cliff or something Seriously, you all whinge at his language and tone yet here half the forum members are, stoking the thread up still further! As soon as someone steps out of line and says stuff which he will no doubt already regret, an avalanche of vicious snipers line up to "kick the sh*t " out of him and seek to get him banned!

Aha! but you are pre-supposing that he has never downloaded mods before, when in fact he might already have the Maddog packs and PT's houses, Tiger's vehicles etc. etc..... ------------------ Rugged Defense England Team Website: http://combatmission.portland.co.uk For all our AARs ------------------ "I drive over farmyard animals in my farmyard tractor, then I laugh afterwards."--CavScout [comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.war-historical]

Imperial Eagles: I want a Napoleonic CM !!!!
M. Bates replied to Blenheim's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Count me in for a Napoleonic game!! Imagine the massed cavalry charge... The game would sound fantastic, especially the French and Scottish troops! Napoleonic CM might also appear at a time when the CM engine is capable of more than 2 similtaneous players... -
COMBAT MISSIONS: Update to Tigers "Allied Guns" Mod
M. Bates replied to Manx's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Hmm another revised mod(!) -
Photography Mission: Urban Terrain In CM
M. Bates replied to David Aitken's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
It would be a good idea to have buildings only entered from certain sides. Dunno how that would "look" in 3D in CM2 tho. -
CM Mod Quiz, Have you seen this one.....
M. Bates replied to kump's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Must be annoying to release a mod and see it butchered in a forum topic the same day -
Battalion Defense Tutorial Part Three posted...

Bump again some nice work there mister! -
Mike, I think that Allied soldiers often mixed up the Tiger with the IV. Both are "boxy" and are not entirely disimilar at long range.
-
My theory is that CM's game exit noise was actually used in WW2 to torture POWs.
-
AT guns are bastards, for sure. I suggest smoking them with off-board or on-board mortars OR with a tank if you can get the angle. THEN area fire HE shells at the AT gun. Should do the trick. Spotting AT guns shouldn't be a problem with arty spotters, sharpshooters etc.
-
Aha! BTS just might call it CM2: Russian Front. CM2: War in the East is good also.
-
Sten I absolutely agree, this kind of thinking is wrong. However - the Swedes although quiet of late - have raped and pillaged in the past. I suggest that all coastal areas of Europe hold an unreasonable grudge against Sweden, backed by PC propaganda fed to school pupils and local peasants.
-
I concede that this may be the case. <Looks at watch> isn't this where MadMatt enters and says, "okay guys I think you are all wrong, and you are all right, but I'm locking this one up for obvious reasons Hmmm. All I will say is this: there seems to be a "cult" made out of the German soldier or fearless panzer commander and I can't quite put my finger on it. Perhaps there is nothing in it or perhaps there is, who knows.
