  1. I think I have worked out how to upload to the Scenario Depot II http://www.the-scenario-depot.com/scenario_details.html?command=search&db=scenarios.db&eqskudatarq=480 Please note I am not the author but just the organiser and the following are the authors: - LB01 Frederick C. Brandt (Fredrock1957) 2005-2-28 LB02 & LB04 Andrej Gaspari LB03 George McEwan Cheers H
  2. Right I have the scenarios in a Zip and they are all unprotected so can be played by anyone without the passwords. E-mail me if you want them sent direct. I will see if I can get them posted onto a web site. They are all worth playing but if you only have time for one the last one is one of the most balanced games I have played in a long while and is a real humdinger. "Fog Over Fedyov" by Andrej Gaspari. 30 turns of pure joy with plenty of options for both sides. Cheers H
  3. Hi Sorry just seen this. Yes I had better do something. Now that I have a lot of time on my hands. Let me sort something out this week and see if I can get a bundle together. More later.. H P.s. Only just seen this so sorry for lack of response.
  4. Nice to see such empathy, maturity and understanding. H
  5. Canuck All I want is the feature and if you want to reduce your opponents to those that don't pause then fine your choice. Choice is the word here and arguing against choice seems a bit daft. Anyway from Moon's comments it might not be a clickfest and hence pausing is something to do rarely. Tarquelne's points are good too. Saving a game so you can restart it the following evening or after a meal break is neat and has to be the way forward. H
  6. Hey RMC if some people want a feature and you feel you don't need it then don't try shouting people down when you could turn that feature off or not use it. A pause feature is essential IMO for multiplayer as everyone needs a break and if that aint your cup of tea don't use the feature. I am totally with Moon on this one and as long as he is putting that view forward I just hope it wins through. You have to bear in mind that in a four player game people have different thought processes and if some people need slightly longer then I would rather have a game that accomedates that so they have a fun game as well. Now if you set up a game that you don't want to use that feature then fine, just limit the number of people that this will appeal to. Traditional RTS = ClickFest Lets hope TOW = NOT A CLICK FEST and steps to a higher level so more people can play and want to play. H
  7. Read the other thread about why pause is a bloody useful thing to have. Do you have a wife? Do you ever need to answer the phone? Take a piss? There is a pause feature in the game already so back off and stop trying to tell me I don't need it. H
  8. Fine that is your POV but this game is moving us beyond the traditional RTS and opening it to more players. As mentioned in another thread there are more than a few ways to implement it. Just because it is not in any other RTS does not mean it should be there. It is in CMBB and CMAK and works fine IMO. If it can be done it will help widden the appeal and not lessen it. Not everyone is a hot shot with the mouse so allowing those players a few seconds more will enhance the game play and ensure you are getting decent opposition IMO. H
  9. Pause is for me an essential feature and if you are playing with people that you don't respect to use it wisely then don't play with them. Not everyone has lightining reflex's and it is a game not war. So those arguments about war happens in real time hold no sway with me as it is a game and people want time to give orders. It ehances the quality of game play. Now if the feature is there and you can disable it all fine and dandy as those who don't want pauses can ensure that is the case. For me and the friends that I play, pause is IMO essential. By the sounds of it Megakill has a different idea to some at Battlefront. I just hope it can be resolved as this enables a full range of players rather than those who can respond fast with the mouse. H
  10. Cheers Moon. That answer indicates a lot in itself. H
  11. Would really like this one answered if possible. Cheers H
  12. Congrats and I am nearly converted. I like Jim am a bit old in the tooth but the pause feature seems to be the Dogs B's so will give this a go and might even pull Jim and Andreas into it as well. Guys just think of the fun we could have. I just need to upgrade my PC and I think her indoors might like a new video card. H
  13. Sounds very very good. Pity tis not ready yet as I am between jobs... Ohh well maybe it will take me into the New Year to find another job.. Cheers for the response Moon. H
  14. I would be interested in the answer to this as well. I am an old codger and click fests cause me RSI. Too much wrist action when I was younger and I need to take things slowly now. H
  15. As Allies you have mobility, use it to win. Don't fight on his terms, move and manuver to get flank shots, Use smoke to get yourself into that position, be bold you can lose a few Shermans for every Tiger / Panther killed. Your turrets are super fast compared to the Tiger and you have to use your strengths to out play the Tigers. If you get into a frontal shooting match you will die unless you are using that to allow something else to get side shots. Remember that if your vehicles are close in moving fast the Tigers turret can not keep track quick enough. H
  16. ROW III scenarios a players guide. Based upon what you have said you want I would go for the Beast or the River Bridgehead both will take you for a grand roller coaster of a ride IMO. The Beast by Harv A terrific game and pretty well balanced. I had a blast playing this one, hard fought and very good. Christmas Battle by JWXSpoon Less said about this the better. But others really enjoyed it. Hosszupalyi by Kingfish This is a good solid design and fun. King of Debrecen by WWB Ok but not inspiring. Mind you I have been spoiled by other designs. Rearguard Action by Rune This is a tough nut and while I enjoyed the challenge it gave others lots of problems. Koltov Corridor by Kinch This proved my undoing, a good design and worth a bash. The Petroskov River Bridgehead by Kingfish This is an excellent game and highly recommended. Innovative design and really tests both players. I was pulling my hair out with this one.
  17. Yada Yada Yada Get a phone line and data link sorted and send me a turn. I want to see your Home Guard squirm under my jack boots!!! H
  18. Hi Mav1, Because there are a lot of people who don't know better and just take the tripe they are fed by others who don't know better. Also, there are lots of people who make gross generalisations and expect others to take those generalisations as fact. What category do you fit in?
  19. And what area of expertise do you hold in the field Mav1? How do you arrive at what is more realistic? What's your sources? H
  20. Do a search as someone did a lot of trials and his conclusion was that drive fast so you get out of it quicker rather than having more chances of bogging by being in it longer. I.e. 10% if you drive fast (1 turn in area) compared to three chances of 8% by spending longer in area. I did not do the tests and this is all from memory of a thread that must have been at least two or more years ago. H
  21. From what I remember of the thread several years ago the best way to cross terrain that might cause you to bog is as fast as possible as it minimise the time spent on that terrain. See if someone can do a search on the previous thread. H
  22. Great Map. Looking forward to playing this one. H
  23. Hmmmmm Maybe this is the airborne op I wanted... Looks good... H
  24. CMAK would be good. Thanks for the two suggestions so far. H
