  4. Marcus, Awaiting your return from the East to get my hands on your mod. Sincerely, Charl
  5. Also running Windows 98SE, and for some reason my F5 shortcut does not work. But Fast&Secure is working, the best thing since sliced bread. Fuerte, Question: How do I make sure Fast&Secure mode works inCMBO? Reading your notes, I see that F&S for CMBO has been added in v1.3.304 already, so I assume that just naming the PBEM file with the prefix "2-" will do the trick as in CMBB? Earlier in this thread you mentioned some file that has to be copied to enable F&S in CMBO. I assume this excercise is moot now? [ October 07, 2003, 04:03 AM: Message edited by: WineCape ]
  6. Not to take away from the point you are making, which I agree with btw, but it was the South Africans who surrenderd Tobruk following the battle for Gazala. </font>
  7. Yup, I'm South African and I know about that one, thanks for the reminder Michael. More specific, it was General Kloppers, the most inexperienced of SA generals in North Africa, with his first fighting command, that surprised everyone, including the South Africans, by giving up without a fight. But he had his reasons. Sincerely, Charl Theron
  8. Touche! Give us more spice and all things nice. Please do NOT subdue it, unless as an extra option. In fact, I am deleting my few Pz.IVJ's that I have right now - all of them J's - to await this stripey addition to my HDD. 9. Tools, May I be forward and ask that you e-mail me at WineCape@global.co.za as soon as you are finished with this beaut of a model? I need to install this in my /bmp directory as of yesterday... Absolutely stunning! This is akin to JorgMC's(?) octupus green striped Tiger, and I have requested (from AndrewTF) before that he or any other modder spice mods up with various distinctly colour striped armour versions, even if these models are not completely historical, which it seems your mod is anyway. A double bonus. Send my sincerest gratitude to that Irish man that helped you out on this one. Beautiful, beautiful. B_E_A_utiful. 11. Godspeed friend. Many thanks for the sweat and effort of the first Rumblings of War (RoW) tourney scenario's. Sincerely, Charl Theron
  12. Good idea, to abandon a heavy weapon or HMG nest if things hot up too much for said crew. Painful to watch them get decimated just because they're too slow to move/withdraw with their equipment, more so when you know in advance that your carefully prepared defensive HMG's are about to be slaughtered and all that is left is to fight 'till death do us part." I'll settle and hope for the above in future CM's; programming CM for the "re-crewing" of such weapons will be a bonus too, but as stated in above posts, MIGHT be problematic to succesfully implement into CM's engine (extra man-hours needed to do/verify all possible programming paths/possible side issues) Yes, a neat idea for the heavy weapons/HMG crews to get lost before hell breaks loose; it seems to be a cleaner coding path? 19. Digging up some saved data on my HDD that crashed last year, I discovered this WarGamer article by Martin Turewicz that got me interested in CMBO just before the release of the demo. CMBO's demo was a killer! Can still remember VoT or "Valley of Trouble", playing Americans and the nasty surprise of that Pz. IVJ (was it?) rolling over the hills toward my beaten-up troops in the village. Those were the days... Remember this? I'm ever so grateful for Martin for leading me onto the path of nirvana!
