  1. Review of the documentation good and thorough, easy to read, informative.
  2. If you guys can wait about 12-14 days, Small Battles, Vietnam Primer will be up at the Depot.
  3. ah yes, ebay would undo it! Really no way to get people to do reviews except to actively encourage reviews and to give out "best review" awards. You don't actually get anything for reviews so they remain sporadic at best.
  4. For Cmx2 we should arrange for a constantly changing password that locks up the game if you don't get the new password by writing a review once a week.
  5. Hey I just remembered. One of the fanatical CMak players who I'll call the "Armoured Car man" sent me a rather weird but great game CD for designing "Small Battles, The Sullen Well of Taleh" for him - looks like I lost my amateur standing!
  6. Hey I said it too and not one ditto of me...left out again [sob] ; ]
  7. No, no I felt guilty getting the free CD from BFC. Its just a hobby I actually enjoy making the scenarios (because it makes me read obscure military history books) more than playing the game-and I LOVE playing the game. However I DO think it might be nice to have prizes given out for scenario design by BFC but they have more important things to do.
  8. Thanks, after you've hunted down and killed this rogue BMP how about a review of old East of Elba?
  9. One way to put a 'map drawing' grid in the editor is to use the small burning buildings to mark out or draw roman or arabic numbers on the terrain, awkward but it works. Another way is to use one type of terrain, crops or water to make a grid
  10. Kobal has the technical answer below, these Italians were RSI, still fighting for Mussolini, the fascist dream and the so called 'Republic of Salo"
  11. Question for our German language/German army grogs What would be the German term for an officer brought out of medical retirement back to active service? To explain, if a German officer was in WWI, gravely wounded in 1916 and medically retired in 1919 was then brought back into service in 1944 what would his status be? In America he would be called a reactivated medical retiree, what is the German term for the same thing? Thanks
  12. Mu ha ha ha ha I like the idea of the passwords but the ability to insert a separate txt file is not doable (AFAIK) at the scenario depot. On scenarios that use the delayed message technique are Decision at Juvarra, Rest No More and CM Gunfight 1881.
  13. I have some nice AH Afrika Korps and Tactics II counters that have a nice patina on them too
  14. I have some nice AH Afrika Korps and Tactics II counters that have a nice patina on them too
  15. uh huh, just remind Charles that his previous idea to have large dice rolling across the terrain should NOT be followed
  16. Hello to the Dutch players If any of you gentlemen have CMAK I have good news. My Dutch associates (Stoffel + Hugo) and my lowly non-Dutch self are doing a series of Dutch based scenarios. The first Dutch scenario is already up at the Scenario Depot as an Operation, Small Operations, Waalhaven 1940. We are presently working on a defense of the Grebbe and Hoornwerk against the SS attack to be followed by a few battles set in the Dutch East Indies and other parts of the Netherlands. If any of you have any Dutch based materials that are CM worthy please let us known. We could also use a few more play testers. The first operation is in English with a Dutch inset but we'd like to do them in English and Dutch so we could use a bit more Dutch language support. Hugo has contacts with Ministry of Defense so we are hoping to get some maps and other materials to assist. Contact us at my email: Wayne100@emirates.net.ae and put CMAK in the subject line.
  17. A good method if somewhat complex. A less complex and also less secure system is to use an extended series briefing. Below is an example from the scenario Small Battles, Decision at Juvarra, if you continue to scroll down you will see messages that are time coded. From the scenario: .................. Scenario notes: On turn 8 return to the briefing and read the 'next message'. In CMAK you can see the briefing again by using the alt B keys at the same time. DO NOT READ PAST THIS POINT AT THIS TIME. S T O P DO NO READ UNTIL TURN 8 Read on turn 8 Your radio operator reports: (not to worry to avoid spoilers I changed the message) "Enemy has broken contact with C & E Company and has headed west, I say again, west. Estimate two mechanized and two tank company. Estimated time of arrival at Juvarra, ten minutes." I've used this method several times and it works well.
  18. Kwazy I've heard a rumor you guys are working on some sorta' wargame?
  19. Kingfish is correct it is lost BOFHK
  20. you can put mines, bunkers and most anything into any such terrain using this technique
  21. I would agree that the French were cut short by their government as were the Belgians and Dutch. I would also say that in general the French didn't fight with the same elan that they did in WWI. The reasons are complex but poor senior leadership was a key point. At some points in history certain nations just fail to fight in the way they had in the past, ie the Swiss & Venetian against Napoleon, the Greeks against the Romans, etc. Somedays a nation has a 'bad' day. Like the Prussians against the French in war of the fourth coalition.
