  1. Joachim, yep I'd already set up the g's and your idea about the tungsten is good too
  2. Whoa had a computer fault there I think! How about using a Pz IV with long 75 and give the Egyptians the Sherman III with tungsten to simulate the thin armour of the AMX?
  3. Thanks Paco, that makes it a bit easier to find a substitute!

  10. Yeah Sergei I was looking for that Puma earlier! The Israeli Amx's seemed to have 90mm but I'll check again. Big gun, thin skinned but fast and turreted...hmmmm Thanks MikeyD, good suggestion
  11. Looking for a tank grog recommendation on a substitute for the French AMX 13 from the existing German/Italian(?) vehicles in CMAK. This is for a 1956 scenario with Israeli AMX-13s engaging Egyptian Sherman IIIs (M4A2s with 75mm)and Archer tank destroyers near El-Arish. One of the German 88mm SPs? TIA Hans
  12. Interestingly at the time I first played CMBO I was playing the talonsoft series and I thought the QB (generating terrain) was just the thing for a Napoleonic small scale game. It would require a re-write of the coding of course which as I understand BFC doesn't release....but once CMx2 comes out they may change their minds.
  13. Hans: Oh as a rabid capitalists myself I would say keeping my hobby and money separated is probably a good idea-nothing kills fun faster than arguing over money.
  14. Yes the editor was one of the main things that attracted me to CMBO.
  15. I'm sorry to say but they did (I only looked at 3) seem to suffer from hasty disease. May I ask why these were rushed? From my experience smaller scenarios are harder to perfect than unit heavy ones due to the play balance. The basic idea was very good but the result weren't as good as they could have been. I would suggest a re-issue after gathering up some more details on the good and bad aspects of each scenario.
  16. Well there ARE game companies but in this reality scenarios are being created for free and very easy to get to. To make "paid for" scenarios successful you must provide or consider: 1. a highly superior product, beyond that provided by the free scenario designers. 2. you must somehow restrict people sharing the scenario (the napster syndrome). 3. it might be possible, having thought about it for awhile that people might pay for a complex campaign game or something that isn't being produced by the free scenario makers. However as I understand these are being run at this moment without fees. 4. you now have a environment where free scenarios are the norm - you'll have to fight uphill to change that since that 'culture' is now set after 4+ years. 5. feel free to send me money for any of my scenarios you like! 6. conduct a market survey to see what (better coordinate that with BFC however) on the boards and see what people say. I'd be interested in the answers.
  17. smaller battles, 500-1000 on a huge map. Love artillery-but only if I have it!
  18. Hello Willbell Well taking under consideration the design specifications of the request your probably looking at a 30-40 hour production time. If you were to "sell" it, you might sell a few but most would players would end up with pirated copies. Would I buy a scenario? Nope-would I buy a CD with lots of scenarios on it? Nope-as long as you have a site like SD the idea probably isn't viable in this present environment. (I rarely play scenarios anyway) Considering the inability of anyone to pinpoint what makes a good scenario you'd have a lot of frustration running thru the customers. You might want to look at the business model of miniature players who seem to be able to sell booklets of scenarios. Are you aware of any game where scenarios by third parties are purchased? Hans
  19. That's what I thought, usually the default is okay but in my present operation it looks out in the wrong direction and mis-orients the player. It would be a bit tacky to put in a label that says "look to the right moron the bad guys are coming from over there!" hmmmmmmm
  20. Is it me or is it NOT possible to set the starting view for an operation as it is with battles?
  21. Hi GJK Thanks, I understand the territorial issues I believe the Admiral has good communications with BFC and could probably raise the issue with more success than my lowly self. Such a link shouldn't be overly difficult as long as the player has the internet on. Heck they might even put a button on the review interface that says, "recommend the scenario be returned to the Proving Grounds for further testing".
  22. Admiral a suggestion for CMx2 When a scenario ends and the game summary comes up why not have a button there to whisk the player to SD for a review? Or another button for a "quick review", that would ask for general feedback.
  23. Hmmmm, actually I can see an auto link to the SD being a doable add on. Will mention to the Admiral.
  24. Hello Royal Dragoon Guard, if you wait a bit the Malaysian scenarios (Slim river, Kampar and Khora Baru) are in production. For bunker busting in Burma I would point you to two existing Burma scenarios in CMAK: Small Battles, Marubouai, Burma Small Battles, Burma Relief With your handle of Royal Dragoon Guard may I also suggest, Small Battles, First Blood 1940 which deals with the 4/7 Royal Dragoon Guards. Hans
  25. Actually I did have an idea as part of the upcoming Cmx2 why not have an automatic feature that would come up after the battle summary that would whisk the player to the scenario Depot for a review? Or better yet a button that would take the player thru a "quick" review.
