1. I think the confusion is that there are several Schultzes in Kampfgruppe Shutz. Both Andreas and Joe are correct. It's interesting, though, that neither of you mention Leutnant Sepp Schultze, who singlehandedly captured a pillbox manned by elite British molemandos, after having been wounded twice by attacking owls. This omission clearly demonstrates your lack of education, intelligence, professional acumen, genetic variety, and moral fiber. For shame. ------------------ Soy super bien, soy super super bien, soy bien bien super bien bien bien super super.
 2. I still say that the Volesgrenadiers were the finest fighting rodents of the war. Hell, even the Volessturm did some amazing things towards the end of the war. And when you consider than their units were consistently underequipped with food pellets and exercise wheels... I mean, imagine how brutally glossy their coats would have been if they'd been properly equipped. The mind boggles. ------------------ Soy super bien, soy super super bien, soy bien bien super bien bien bien super super.
 3. AVREs blow up buildings right quick. I *think* (although I'm by no means positive) that building demolition in house-to-house fighting was the AVRE's primary role during WWII. I haven't tested the AVRE's gun against pillboxes specifically, so I can't speak to your question there. But every time I've had one target a building, it's brought it down within a turn. ------------------ Soy super bien, soy super super bien, soy bien bien super bien bien bien super super.
 4. I'd personally worry more about the clutter than about the performance hit. Some of the larger scenarios have thousands of men running around. Well and good if you're playing at realistic scale. But it's nearly impossible to see units at any sort of distance using realistic scale. Which means that you bump the scale up to +3 or +4. Can you see where I'm going with this? It'd be impossible to see the terrain, let alone pick out individual units from the throng. This is naturally just my take on it, and I know others feel differently, but I think that BTS got it right with the three man squads. ------------------ Soy super bien, soy super super bien, soy bien bien super bien bien bien super super.
 5. Apologies if I wasn't clear. My point was that I see very few one-shot-one-kill engagements except at close range and not always even then. In my experience, gunners take 2-3 shots to achieve the first hit, let alone kill. Obviously this varies for range, experience, and gun, but the trend I've seen tends towards more shots and fewer instant kills. ------------------ Soy super bien, soy super super bien, soy bien bien super bien bien bien super super.
 6. Personally, I don't think AT guns are excessively lethal. I've bounced 88 rounds off Shermans at 100m, I've had Fireflies fail to take out Pumas and Lynxes, I've had perfect stern hits shatter or ricochet. In my last QB, I had a Marder III and a Churchill IIV ping shots off each other's front armor for almost 5 turns until the Marder finally said screw it and went into defilade. That said, I've had lucky shots from Stuarts brew up Tigers. Luck, and all that. ------------------ Soy super bien, soy super super bien, soy bien bien super bien bien bien super super.
 7. I'm new to this forum and haven't noticed any hostility towards me. As people have pointed out, the search function works well, and it's often less time-consuming to do a search rather than post a question. And it certainly saves everyone else time. ------------------ Soy super bien, soy super super bien, soy bien bien super bien bien bien super super.
 8.
quote:
Originally posted by Stuka: Maybe the time delay could be extended according to the distance the target point is moved from its original point.

I'm not sure if you're taking this into account or not, if you are, my apologies, but CM does model just this. Adjusting fire within a certain distance does impose a small penalty. This accounts for "walking" fire. If you try to adjust your fire more than a few (50? something like that?) meters, it's treated as a new fire mission, and takes the full amount of time to call it in. So, a small adjustment takes a little bit of time, whereas a big adjustment takes a lot of time. About this being a big problem, I agree with Kingfish. Unless people are shooting the big monster rounds at me, I'd rather deal with a bunch of spotting rounds scattered all over the place than a full-on barrage. ------------------ Soy super bien, soy super super bien, soy bien bien super bien bien bien super super.

 12. I agree with Squirminjoy. The only way to find out what your squads are really capable of is to check the unit. In addition, I think that a bunch of numbers floating around the screen all the time would be cluttery and distracting, and since the game already gives you several ways to determine unit size, I don't see a need for a change.
 13. Wwwwait. Does this mean Star Wars didn't happen either? ------------------ Soy super bien, soy super super bien, soy bien bien super bien bien bien super super.
 14. Gamespot.com's review. I'm too lazy to post a link. ------------------ Soy super bien, soy super super bien, soy bien bien super bien bien bien super super.

David =D

Are you implying that the P-22 was some kind of joke? The P-22 (which, as I have stated before, was the American designation for the British FPE-7 "Thadwhapper") saved many a brave soldier's life. I'll quote, if I may, and I may, so I will, Sgt. Bradford Bloomingfork, from Harry McPuffappee's book Thadwhapper: The Tragedy and The Glory "The Thadwhapper saved me bloody life, it did. A poor little bird, crazed from the sight of Captain Hogworth's naked bum (which is another story entirely), flew straight into me Thadwhapper. The thick papier mache restraining wall held the bird until I could shoot it with me Sten. Without me Thadwhapper, I might've spilt me tea, or worse. As it is, I got a nice little birdie dinner out of it, what." I'll thank you not to refer to this excellent product of British industry as "a laugh." ------------------ Soy super bien, soy super super bien, soy bien bien super bien bien bien super super.
 17. Well slap my face and call me Slappy. Plagiarism bugs me like nothing else. Well, you won't see me defending people anymore, from now on it's mockery all around! Seriously, Skorzeny, don't be such a twerp. ------------------ Soy super bien, soy super super bien, soy bien bien super bien bien bien super super.
 18.
quote:
Originally posted by Cort: This is a game forum that is a movie

Yeah, but it is a World War II wargame forum, and there are people on here who'd probably be interested in reading Skorzeny's piece. People start OT threads all the time. This is no more or less connected to the game than most of those. In addition, Skorzeny made it clear at the beginning of his post what the post was about. Dunno, I just don't see why a post like this would be a problem. ------------------ Soy super bien, soy super super bien, soy bien bien super bien bien bien super super.
 19. This has been brought up many times. BTS has stated that it's not going to happen any time soon. ------------------ Soy super bien, soy super super bien, soy bien bien super bien bien bien super super.

 21. Andreas, Joe, you are both clearly out of your leagues. The P-22 was merely the American designation for the British FPE-7 "Thadwapper" mantle, and not a variant on the P-21 "Sasquatch" mantle. I'd advise you both to check your sources before you embarass yourselves again. ------------------ Soy super bien, soy super super bien, soy bien bien super bien bien bien super super.

Laters, I say.

Not so! Every passing day strengthens my already nearly-godlike mental acuity! Additionally, in adjoining time, I expect that, with a bit of poking and prodding, liberal alcohol rations, and the threat of direct violence, I can train my slowcoach troops not to run at the first sight of danger. Rest assured, however, my tactical idiocy will remain supreme, guaranteeing my lock on the moral high ground! ------------------ Soy super bien, soy super super bien, soy bien bien super bien bien bien super super.
 23. BTS has stated that they're not going to release sales figures. However, they have gone out of stock twice(?), so I think they're doing just fine ------------------ Soy super bien, soy super super bien, soy bien bien super bien bien bien super super.

And as for you, Verminboy, your foul, camel-like stench may distract weaker men from noticing your staggeringly ignorant statements (I still can't get over that Hague thing. I mean, really) but I am undeterred! The venerable Birdstuff is a master of his field, and just because you have Kartoffeln for brains gives you no right to abuse such a distinguished and learned gentleman. In response to this, that, and the other, I invite you to send a setup for a PBEM game, whereupon your ill-begotten Kameltruppen will surely wreak havoc with my standup young men, THEREBY proving my moral superiority to all! My will is strong! My thoughts are clear! My tactics are horrendous! In losing I shall prevail! Which is possible. ------------------ Soy super bien, soy super super bien, soy bien bien super bien bien bien super super.
