1. Here's the problem with big, pretty, multi million dollar tanks. You send a tank out. Yay. It does some stuff. Then along comes a helicopter and the tank gets blown all to hell by a $50,000 missile. Bad trade. I think that the day of the MBT is probably coming to an end. Of course, it all depends on your point of view. I've talked to tankers who'd burn me alive for posting this, so... ------------------ Soy super bien, soy super super bien, soy bien bien super bien bien bien super super.
2. Thanks for the welcome, all. Mr. WW - I'd be happy to play you in a PBEM game, but it's going to be a while before I'm able to do so. I'm moving in a couple of days and unfortunately my new apartment doesn't have an internet connection. Until I bug my phone company to come install a new line, I'll only have very infrequent internet access.
3. As far as I can tell, snipers don't have a minimum range per se. However, like with most TacAI decisions, if the sniper thinks that opening fire will be obviously dangerous or fatal, it won't take the shot. I've had hidden snipers refuse to open up on units 15-20m away.
4.
quote:
Originally posted by Mortiis: How do you know if your sniper took out a leader in a squad?

I don't think that individual squads have leaders, do they? The only units I've noticed with distinct leaders are vehicle units. In which case, if your sharpshooter takes a shot, the vehicle buttons and either stops dead in its tracks or starts bumbling around like a panicky schoolgirl, chances are you've killed its commander.
5. I've been reading this board for almost a month now, but I received my copy of the game last Friday and I just registered on the board today. I've been playing a ton of QBs, and as soon as I feel confident enough to not get beaten like a stepchild, you'll all have someone new to whack around in PBEM games
6. Sharpshooters can be very effective if used well. They're no more durable or fragile than any other one-man team would be. If they get shot, they die.
