  1. MD, aren't you the one who said he doesn't want the game before June? Who is paying you to say these things?
  2. I've always thought that squads could be represented as fire teams and weapons teams instead of individual soldiers. While watching a platoon march across the field I sometimes think, hey there's 10 men that could just as easily be a squad - three groups of three and a squad leader. Each man in a squad could be represented without having to model all 8, 10, or 12 of them individually.
  3. The answer to "whose grass am I using" in CMBO. [ November 27, 2003, 07:39 PM: Message edited by: Pvt. Ryan ]
  4. I've seen (and heard) my sharpshooter kill several TCs in a game only to see that he caused no casualties when the game was over. There are obviously other ways a TC can become a casualty, but the sharpshooter is not getting credit for his kills.
  5. I think CMBB and CMAK have a lot more voice files for each nationality than CMBO did. CMBB introduced many more phrases for certain situations.
  6. Well, obviously, I was joking. Also I always thought most Japanese switched Ls and Rs. In Goodbye, Darkness, by William Manchester, the author says the Japanese said, "You die, Maline!" I'm pretty sure that's how he wrote it, but I'd have to seach the whole book to be sure. He then mentioned how the American passwords were created to take advantage of this difficulty.
  7. MGs will clear. There's even a sound file where somone says "weapon clear."
  8. They didn't sound like Americans doing Australian accents, they sounded like Americans. Maybe the Dingo Ate Your Baby [ November 24, 2003, 08:46 PM: Message edited by: Pvt. Ryan ]
  9. How many different ways can you say "Bonzai" and "You Die Maline"?
  10. Weren't all of the Allied Forces in a plot to kill Hitler?
  11. I believe the current state of self unbuttoning tanks is a result of CMBO's tanks staying buttoned - so that the AI's tanks never unbuttoned once they were buttoned. It gave too much of an advantage to the human player against the AI. I believe this was changed early in CMBB, but tanks would only stay buttoned for a short period of time. Then it was changed so that tanks would stay buttoned for a whole turn and the player could reissue the command if he wanted to, as it is now.
  12. I think they liked them so much because they were better than most of what they had, and there were a lot of them. As you can see in the CMAK demo, the Grants/Lees were able to stand their own against the Panzer IIIs, but the limitations of their main gun made them too vulnerable and they were no match for the 75mm Panzer IVs.
  13. I thought they spent their money on axle grease.
  14. I keep banging my monitor on its side, but the pictures in your screen shots still look totally screwed up. Is anyone else having this problem?
  15. Very nice! Is the license plate behind the front wheel of the 250/11 supposed to be there?
  16. I e-mailed an Acrobat version of the file to you.
  17. Hopefully Gordon and Marco will reemerge to do their magic. I guess I didn't speak fast enough - http://www.battlefront.com/cgi-bin/bbs/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=30;t=000368 [ November 24, 2003, 12:15 AM: Message edited by: Pvt. Ryan ]
  18. That will look nice for the one turn it isn't burning.
  19. Some of the American voices sound like the sound pack that Rob released for CMBO.
  20. If you act now, BFC will send you a whole disk full of demo scenarios in about two weeks.
  21. Half track crews kneel when buttoned instead of digging their feet into the ground Flintstones style. At least I never noticed it in CMBO or BB.
  22. I'd hate to be the driver in that thing. It looks like almost any shot that penetrates the front is going to split him in two.
  23. As we all know the AI cheats and can see those tanks even without the dust clouds. I would think BFC has given the AI the ability to react to dust clouds; otherwise the AI would be at a serious disadvantage (and it still kicks my ass, so I doubt that's the case).
