  1. Yeah that could be cool. Hey Nzer are we a CPXer? Hmmm. Anyways the only problem I see is that one side would not have say your custom sigs and such. Still it would be cool to have your units have insignias on them. ------------------ Sir are you sure you want to go to red alert...it would mean changing the bulb -Priest
  2. Always interested. My email is in the profile. Also send it to CMpost if CMHQ is too busy. ------------------ Sir are you sure you want to go to red alert...it would mean changing the bulb -Priest

  8. I mentioned this in defense of a gamer a ways back. I would have to say that there is a realism group and a gamer group. Now there are factions within each group that either get along or not. There is no way to guess numbers because I doubt the majority of players post to this site. I think that in the future all can be made happy. Think about it, if Steve and Charles (and Kwazy and Matt) take some time and expand on the graphics of the game then the gamers will be somewhat pleased but then wait so will the realism guys (at least some of them) because now not only does that explosion look better but maybe the treads on the Panther A look more realistic with more depth. Maybe the new graphics engine allows the use of trenches thus increasing realism. It is all linked in the end. It is not how much time BTS spends on each part of the game but that they take the same attitude towards the making of the game. Well those are my thoughts. Great thread. ------------------ Sir are you sure you want to go to red alert...it would mean changing the bulb -Priest

  11. Another 100 here I was 900 and something!!! We are falling behind Dues Ex CM RULES!!!!!
  12. I pre-ordered the game and it has not left my CD ROM except for when I bought the new PC for...well better CM performance. The game engulfs my life so much my girlfriend has given up trying to compete (it is amazing she even stays). Canuck much luck to you but I have to brag *He-Man Mode Engaged* BY THE POWER OF BTS I HAVE CM!!!!!!!! *He-Man Mode disengaged* ------Status normal------ ------------------ Sir are you sure you want to go to red alert...it would mean changing the bulb -Priest
  13. To connect to the internet you click on the icon on the desktop right? That opens your browser but also accesses an internet account set outside the browser. If you go into my computer and click my network connections there should be a connection called MY INTERNET CONNECTION or something of that nature. Click on that and it should connect you w/o opening a browser. Should that matter, I do not know for sure (I suspect not) but at least it is a start. Also is a NIC card installed on the machine?
  14. Okay guys I know I have not posted here for awhile but here we go. Lay off 'list for awhile. It is unfair to pound someone for a serious question. As far as search...sure you should have but it now seems like you have so you question has even more valididty. Lastly back off the comments on strategy and stuff boyos. I am a huge "student" of the WWII era and plan to have a bachlors degree in early 20th century history just for the WWII classes. More importantly I recognize that while you can run real tactics for WWII and simulate quite a few tactical aspects in CM, I prefer to use the game's engine for a testbed to develop tactics that may or may not have worked and tactics that use unit compositions that may not be realistic but could've been if the org. chart was different. Now do I use 12 Pershings a battle? no. Do I try to find UberWeapons? no. I try to find interesting combinations of forces to implement tactics so that I may find interesting advantages and disadvantages in the combination of various weapon systems. Now that puts me in the middle of the Reality folks and the "THIS IS A GAME" folks. Really I could care less. Reality freaks bring it on. Gamers come get some. Either way as long as you have fun who cares. ------------------ Sir are you sure you want to go to red alert...it would mean changing the bulb -Priest
  15. Hey Pnzer Why are you opening a browser? When I play over the internet I connect to my ISP (this does not require your browser to open) and then open a DOS box that allows me to find out my IP address (if I am connecting to someone else) or of course the game will tell you if you are the creator. Also check to see if you have a virus scan running. Are you on a LAN? Who are you trying contact? If you reverse roles does it work? Just questions that may be pertinent. ------------------ Sir are you sure you want to go to red alert...it would mean changing the bulb -Priest
  16. uhm you guys are unbelievably cool! By the way i just wanted to state that I am lucky enough to be participating in the CPX and it is the greatest gaming experience ever. Thanks for providing the inspiration. Hope you guys at BTS check into the CMMC every once and awhile and see what is going on. ------------------ Sir are you sure you want to go to red alert...it would mean changing the bulb -Priest

  18. A tragedy really (said very seriously). ------------------ Sir are you sure you want to go to red alert...it would mean changing the bulb -Priest
  19. NOOOOOOOOOO! When it comes down to it Steve and Charles make CM what it is. Their attention to detail and research is what has allowed CM to please so many. As the games developed went farther away from them the quality would spiral downward. Now this is not always tru. Half-life was never interesting to me but my Rainbow Six friends tell me that CounterStrike (based on the half-life engine) is excellent. but generally it goes down hill. Although Steve and Charles could always expand and keep hiring guys like Matt and Kwazy. That could span the workload and keep the quality because these guys would be as fanatic.
  20. The most realistic way is to buy this strange DeLorean car from a whacked scientist and travel back in time to 1944 and storm this one certian beach in a place called Normandy. I bet that would be a realistic experience! (please note playful sarcasm) ------------------ Sir are you sure you want to go to red alert...it would mean changing the bulb -Priest
  21. According to the books i read in the Bocage fighting the American used armor to isolate the ends of a hedgerow (usually mg nests)and then the infantry would advance and take the hedgerow. The tank would come in with support after the infantry. This is just my understanding. I personally am using this current tactic. I use a recon screen (exact composition varies) to locate the enemy, pin it with artillery and move up armor with infantry in tow. After the armor further pins the enemy and is in a good position the infantry proceeds to take the position. This effort is covered with an AT screen. Those are my thoughts. ------------------ Sir are you sure you want to go to red alert...it would mean changing the bulb -Priest
  22. The reason (before anyone asks) that the support for the Banshee doesn't matter to the problem is because if it wasn't supported you wouldn't see anything whether it be the opening movie or a hull down message! ------------------ Sir are you sure you want to go to red alert...it would mean changing the bulb -Priest
  23. I am a computer engineer and can tell you that it is not your PC. The Banshee AFAIK(as far as i know ) is supported not that it would matter. Also I believe there is no option to change or modify the hull down situation. Try the wall scenario above. ------------------ Sir are you sure you want to go to red alert...it would mean changing the bulb -Priest
  24. Tero if I am not mistaken (and this is probably out of CM scope) but thank god that Steve and Charles didn't simulate the Piper Cub. How would you like your American playing opponent to start the game with a lot of german symbols showing up as a result of what the Piper Cub saw a 1/2 an hour earlier? Just a waker upper! ------------------ Sir are you sure you want to go to red alert...it would mean changing the bulb -Priest
  25. That would be good also. Kinda an offshoot of the reinforcement rule. I like it. Cool anyothers?
