  1. Yes, I tend to agree. I don't believe he reads the posts within this forum much either. My last file sent to Shock Trooper 2 days ago has now been sent to you Kingfish. Regards Jim R.

  4. Just to advise that it unfortunately is extremely unlikely that Squeezing the Melon will be finished by the 14th due to the difficulty of getting timely files done when there's a 16 hour time difference. On the positive side, I still hope to finish both Vevindi & Metema on time (just). Regards Jim R.
  5. The record's stuck, the record's stuck, the record's stuck, the..... (Matching Tie & Handkerchief album) Regards Jim R.
  6. It all becomes clear now. When using "Acme" brand products I'm actually using the pinnacle of that particular product's development. Mind you, Wile E Coyote seemed to have awful trouble with them! Regards Jim R.

  8. Apparently the BOYS ATR's were quite useful as sniper rifles at a pinch. Suffice to say, once hit your target doesn't get up. Regards Jim R.
  9. Ooooh...double touche. Tch, tch. Regards Jim R.
  10. No, but I'm hoping it will be June 30. Pretty please? Regards Jim R.
  11. Speaking of the English penchant for weird/quaint naming of various instruments of war, the name given to that "fine" early war armoured car has to get a guernsey. Marmon-Herrington just reeks of upper class snobbery yet is used as the name for an armoured car. I'm sure the reason was the vehicle was probably designed by just such an individual with that surname but surely the army could have thought of something better than this. "Rabbit" perhaps, befitting its fast but avoid danger at all costs design comes to mind as an appropriate name for it. Next you'll know they would have had a "Barrington-Smythe" on the battlefield. Regards Jim R.
  12. I see Rob & the guys at BFC have been co-operating well together. Another question. Will the ammended ORBAT for Australian forces be included in a patch to the commercial version of CMAK? Regards Jim R.
  13. He was mentioned earlier but only in passing as a possibility. Regards Jim R.
  14. You could throw Churchill into the mix as well then. His almost fanatical pre-occupation with the so called "soft underbelly of Europe" being Greece & the Balkans cost alot of men in futile operations in both the First & Second World Wars. Regards Jim R.
  15. I'm amazed Marshall Graziani hasn't been mentioned yet. If you want an absolute stinker he certainly fits the bill. Regards Jim R.
  16. Wasn't Milligan the guy responsible for Mussolini's downfall? Regards Jim R.
  17. Getting back to that classic game Sniper! does anyone remember playing the "supersoldier" rules? Could never be killed outright, had unlimited ammo and in fact was so virtually invulnerable the super-soldier could drop a hand grenade at his feet and not even suffer a scratch no matter what die roll you threw! Every time I played those rules I pictured Vic Morrow for some funny reason. Regards Jim R.
  18. Ahhh...the memories. Thanks for the suggestion about the brew Michael, I'll do my best tonight after squash. Interesting co-incidence isn't it Jon. I think we were lucky to be introduced to the hobby by such a good wargame company. I only bought Fortress Europa when I was well into my teens & never really got into it due to diversions such as SPI's Sniper! and subsequently, Squad Leader. Regards Jim R.
  19. Yes you're right Michael, my memory was failing me. I meant to say my first wargame was The African Campaign by Jedko Games which I received for my twelfth birthday. It kept me going for months on end. Although it was good for its day it was far surpassed by the absolute classic subsequent release by Jedko of The Russian Camapign. This particular wargame was a gem & became one of Avalon Hills best sellers for its day when they took over the title. Regards Jim R.
  20. My first wargame was also Afrika Corps but that was before Avalon Hill took over the original Jedko design. They hardly changed a thing apart from double printing the counters. An excellent introductory game to the world of board wargaming. Regards Jim R.
