  1. Told ya! Still makes no sense...hope its just a quickly fixed oversight.
  2. Forum is running slow and got the Flood warning for the first time in years. Everyone write down their member number for future reference.
  3. I sure hope you are wrong. I'll try a hotseat test and check it out.
  4. I haven't been able to hide to work. Its greyed out when I click on the waypoint.
  5. Itael, sorry for digressing your thread. jogr, that is an excellent point. We are just used to CM's TACAI being a little smarter.
  6. I had a US squad listed as routed but it didn't move. I actually went into the editor and brought is morale down to the lowest setting to get it to do it.
  7. Especially after the issues TOW had with dual cores.
  8. I remember the day after CMBO came out, there were at least 20 new user made scenarios floating around. Given the limited number of included scenarios, I thought for sure there would be a more kicking around for CMSF.
  9. I don't care how good your troops are, if the plan says your forces advance to X position by Y time. And the human enemy follows a completely different path and schedule, the AI will probably not compensate for it.
  10. Exel, that is exactly how I felt about TOW. It was BFC for Chrissake. I cut them a lot of slack on that one becuase they weren't the developer. I sit here and wonder whether I am being unfair by not griping more because BFC is the developer on CMSF. But looking back, CMBO had a lot of issues just as glaring, but people's expectations weren't as high. I think there are some critical issues, only a few, but they are incredibly magnified by the newness of the design and its differences from CM. I am play and enjoy the game. I also know the BFC guys are right now on conference calls prioritizing for the patch.
  11. Does hide override the arc command. The was the way it was done in CM and it worked perfectly for ambushes.
  12. I am surprised its taken this long for someone to ask the question. Must be world record.
  13. Only if they are french Hummers I haven't seen them and don't think they are in, whatever they are.
  14. This is correct; the AI reacts to the clock rather than to enemy movements, situation, etc. </font>
  15. You know I never even considered the C2 part of scenario design. That may be having a huge effect on how the AI is reacting on the Syrian side. I just don't know. Someone from BFC is going to have to clarify how things like that work. Just like in CM, the AI has moments of absolute brilliance, and moments of sheer stupidity (like me). It just seems in CMSF there are extremes and it is also more dependent on the scenario designer.
  16. I have a feeling its not the size, but the design of the "plan" for the AI. It may because the AI plan is all about timing, the smaller scenarios are more predictable and the human is less likely to fall off the timed schedule that keeps the AI going.
  17. But why allow facing at the end but not hide. That doesn't seem logical, it almost seems random.
  18. If you look at some of the AARs out of Iraq, insurgents typically don't fight to the death unless surrounded. That is why on an operational level the Army and Marines have to put blocking positions in place on offensives into towns. They may not run away screaming, the enemy in CMSF stand and fight when almost any other human would be crawling away.
  19. I would think it was like in CM or any other game...the scenario designer has to put it in the briefing.
  20. It seems, to me at least, that everything is time based. Am I missing something. I think that is why some of the scenarios seem screwed up. I you get outside the intended schedule of the scenario designer, the AI is porked.
  21. It would be all the Syrians have going for them. It is a huge tactical advantage for the US against low tech opfors with no thermal imaging. So in a major assault by either Syrians or US, doctrine would prevent them from dropping at least mortar smoke or WP. Don't still carry WP for 81mm mortars in the US?
  22. See, my point exactly. CMSF does not ignore double posts. I always counted on CM to do it. I am selling CMSF, my house and my dog then moving to Tibet.
  23. I think the old CM ignored double posts so much better. I want to right click and ignore double posts and the TACAI should do it for me. CMSF sucks at ignoring double posts and I am pissed I preordered. Sorry, stuck in the booneys in China and can't sleep.
  24. I think BFC has pretty much locked down the unit data. There is not going to be any chewing up of that. They have explained themselves numerous times, including in this thread. I respect that decision. They have clearly stated that they will support and even help with texturing and art work. Steve has posted this several times and even in this thread he said they setting up a tool to support it.
