  1. Just to add.. These explosions are probably closest compared to arty rounds (maybe 81mm?). But only three, and all in a row is unusual!

Ok the kanga got hit by a rifle grenade from the flank, it didnt immobilise but it did shock the crew, it was at the end of the same turn that I see the three explosions - they are too big to be 50mm mortar rounds and they wont be an aircraft in a 300 point QB so I'm none the wiser - I cant wait to find out what it was..
  3. Get this the plot thickens! I've just checked and five men have surrendered to me, 2 from the LMG team and 3 from an infantry squad - so it defo wasnt demo charges, there isnt anyone near enough, and they wouldnt chuck charges on themselves would they? Whats odd is that these men were in the house that just got hit by one of the three blasts! So it suggest random indirect fire? But I didnt think the AI was capable of that?
  4. To this day the more I play CMAK the more I appreciate it. I come across something really quite bizarre in a tiny 300 point QB I like to play from time to time. Ok it sort of goes like this - I am British infantry, advancing on my target - I can see a light machinegun team directly ahead of me along with some pioneer troops slightly further back - I am advancing my kangaroo with squad, and it gets taken out by what appears to be a series of small explosions. 3 in a row to be precise - now the battle hasnt finished so I cant tell who or what was responsible for knocking it out but the sounds were like demo charges? but three in a row? Its also like a smaller straffe or something like that by an aircraft, but theres no noise to represent it. So I'm puzzled what this could be - its not a AT gun either. I guess I will find out shortly but I just thought I'd share this - its cool. The joys of Fog of War!

  7. I've just been playing an 8000 pointer and its awesome - you have to use almost totally different tactics when you're trying to organise a larger force - or rather I do : - )
  8. So then Tanks, can we expect to see a full "Normandy" style mod coming our way, with greenery et al to suit? From what we can see it looks excellent!

  10. Come on guys, any resolution to this? I was playing some Normandy scenarios yesterday, one in particular that was the best battle I've ever played but it looked so out of place with Italian buildings and yellow camo halftracks etc..
  11. JuJu my friend I have every single one of your fine mods already - I'm just looking for something like Magua's overall Normandy mod to really immerse myself in the game when I'm playing the Dday scenarios..
  12. yeah I got it that time, I was searching via the user-selectable menus. Still no sign of a normandy type terrain though :-(.

  14. Hi guys, what do we have to play with regards Terrain for CMAK? I've just reinstalled it and after a couple of hours staring at the grass I've gone boss-eyed. I've looked through cmmods but they dont seem to be that much available?

  16. I played Invasion 44 briefly, way back last year, it is VERY good at conveying the total confusion that must have been felt! I remember being pinned down by german rifle fire and tracer in total pitch black! You could only just make out some buildings and stuff if you looked hard enough. It was pretty smart actually, and its good to see that it is still in "progress" - shows that these guys take it seriously. I have to agree with Michael that it's a pretty poor performer in terms of realism, but hell was it fun

I'm trying to suss out exactly what it is that makes CM tick - at the moment I've got a very high spec pc but I am still finding myself having to wait for up to a minute for the blue bar to compute in larger scenarios. My current spec :- AMD FX53 @ 2.7ghz, watercooled so its totally silent, (very important to me), ATI 9800XT, 1GB PC3500 ECC, couple of 7200rpm drives, optical drives etc. Basically, pretty top spec. Now will 2GB make a difference to the computation time do you think? Or would RAID 0 on two 10000rpm Raptors make any? Or would both features help? I'm prepared to invest some cash in this to get it right, so any advice would be welcomed. #1 CM fan.
  18. It died on me about an hour ago, havent been able to get it back since. I hope its not gone awol again, COG does a superb job but it always seems to run slow to me.

  20. Well I think its a great idea - lots of potential there, and great publicity for BF.com. Maybe the new OOB etc can be made into a free patch - who knows.
  21. Just to let you know also, none of the "default selection" icons work on mine either - I get that same error as before.
