Survey: what years should be included in CM2?
Frenchy replied to Mace's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
"A large bottle of Finland 1939..." That should go well with CM. 1939 was a good year for bottled Finland! -
Marines are crazy...!? Naw, just extremely dedicated. They haven't conformed to the politically correct way to train troops in boot camp (sensitivity training, etc...). They train them to the job they are supposed to do..."to uphold and defend the constitution of the United States..." Don't worry about your weight...I weighed less than that getting out of Parris Island at graduation. Best shape I have been in! I use the same card. When I installed it and uploaded the latest driver it's worked like a charm. Explosions, smoke, etc. all look good. Reinstall the latest driver. ------------------ Webmaster http://www.trailblazersww2.org http://www.vmfa251.org -
As a grandson of a WW2 combat engineer (270th Engineer Combat Battalion, 70th Infantry Division) and author of their unit history, I can tell you that engineers are worth their weight in gold. Used properly, they'll clear a minefield (be sure to provide covering fire) and they will put a hurtin' on a pillbox or tank. Engineers during WW2 found themselves in both roles (infantry and engineer). They fought the enemy, the same as infantry, but are denied the Combat Infantryman Badge, simply because they aren't infantry. IMO, they should have it. ------------------ Webmaster http://www.trailblazersww2.org http://www.vmfa251.org

Mortis, when placing units when building sceanrios and you don't want them to move, make sure you lock them in place. Click on the unit and choose lock. ------------------ Webmaster http://www.trailblazersww2.org http://www.vmfa251.org -

FOR BTS - New Option for next Patch or CM2
Frenchy replied to Frenchy's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
As for points, as my PBEM opponent suggested, any flags (points) currently under the withdrawing player's control would be lost and be awarded to the other player. It's assumed he would move in and occupy the newly gained teritory. ------------------ Webmaster http://www.trailblazersww2.org http://www.vmfa251.org -
Currently, there are two ways a losing side can end a scenario: surrender or call for a cease fire and hope the other side does also. I'd like to see a third option: withdrawal. I am currently in a scenario that I would like to do this. I don't want to surrender (I still have troops left) but not enough to win the battle. The point allowance I leave to you...but I envision the side giving up the field to earn a bit more points than if they had surrendered. Also, as my PBEM opponent has suggested, lose the point value of flags that one has in his possesion when the withdrawal occurs. Perhaps BTS will consider this. ------------------ Webmaster http://www.trailblazersww2.org http://www.vmfa251.org

Ahhh...another Marine joins the fold! Welcome aboard. You will find it very difficult to stop playing once you start.
