  1. I am always amazed by the mods people make, a little envy I think. Great work to you Gunslinger, very creative and a huge step in making a already great game better. The same to all of you you make any kind of mods. ------------------ -kill 'em all and let God sort them out-
  2. I have played just about every RTS game that has been out, and the past year I got burnout on the hectic feed troops to the masses. And he who builds first and most wins, regardless of tactics. The first turn-based strategy game I played was this year and that was HOMM3. I found the slower, more thoughtfull pace actually more tactical than most RTS games. I find the WEGO actually more tense than any RTS game, teh 60 second run, and you can't do anything, it all comes down to how you planned your move before. This causes me way more tension, than any RTS game I have played, you live with your mistake, you can't act on your decision immediately. Most RTS games you just lick your wounds and build twice as many units, troops, etc. And throw them at the enemy. I still enjoy a few RTS games, mainly AOK, just bought Jagged Alliance 2, looks like a good turn-based tactical squad game. I think CM is the perfect blend of planning and action and thinking, things many newer RTS games lack, IMO. ------------------ -kill 'em all and let God sort them out-
  3. All your mods are over taking my Hard Drive! Keep up the great work, love those mods and the very creative people who make them. ------------------ -kill 'em all and let God sort them out-
  4. Tech Support answered e-mail game going now, dis-reguard. ------------------ -kill 'em all and let God sort them out-
  5. Hello, everything was fine I had some mods installed and the v105 patch, meanwhile I had a non game related Hard Drive crash. I thought I had everything in Combat Mission backed up, but now I know I didn't. I re-installed the game with no mods and patched to v105, but now in both Quick Battles and Scenerios I have no enemy, in this case Germans. The info box on bottom of screen lists no morale or victory % for enemy. I tried everything, I am afraid that I am missing a file, have un-installed and re-installed 3 times to no avail. Anyone have any ideas? Totally bums me, my favorite game, the crash was enough hassle now can't play CM. Thanks ------------------ -kill 'em all and let God sort them out-
  6. I have been mainly playing Quick Battles, to learn the game better, since I have more control of the battle setup. I have played some mod scenerios which were great, keep up the good work. When I have the time I really want to play a Campain, also when I know how to play better. I think I get over whelmed at the number of scenerios, yet I keep downloading more, and can't stop. Which do you play the most of? ------------------ -kill 'em all and let God sort them out-
  7. I agree to the random terrian, I find myself always chosing my favorite, fall, large hills, sunny day, sometimes night, village, medium trees. Don't really like the snow maps, but if the maps where random, it would add some more suspence and suprise. ------------------ -kill 'em all and let God sort them out-
  8. I noticed the same thing and have lost units past the 60 second ending. But it also works both ways, so its a draw. The gameplay should end right at the 60 second mark though, to be fair. ------------------ -kill 'em all and let God sort them out-
  9. I know what you mean, I have had some QB games that have came right down to me having a few troops left and the sit looking grim, only to rally and win. For sure a adrenaline rush and nail biter. ------------------ -kill 'em all and let God sort them out-
  10. I use the colored bases, and left click on each unit to double check their orders, before "go". I rarely miss anyone, although I always seem to forget about one of my 50cal men, cause they are so slow. The colored bases work well, but kind of take away from the realism. I just try to be very methodical in keeping track of everyone, and double, triple check their orders. ------------------ -kill 'em all and let God sort them out-
  11. The "big boys" like Blizzard, EA could take some custumer service lessons, and game making lessons from BTS. Again my hat is off to a great game and those who made it, and continue to support it. ------------------ -kill 'em all and let God sort them out-
  12. You also have to remember that in combat the old adrenaline pump is working overtime. People are capable of amazing things when bullets are flying and the adrenaline starts pumping. Many in combat go along time without food or sleep, and even carry on with wounds, that outside of combat would put anyone down, ------------------ -kill 'em all and let God sort them out-
  13. I got hooked on the damn show after about the 3rd episode, just plain mindless fun entertainment, like most tv. I really thought Rudy would win, if the show really was about survial, out in the boonies, then he would be the one I would pick to win. Have to figure at his age, when he was a SEAL it was alot tougher then, than now the guy is hardcore, and funny. ------------------ -kill 'em all and let God sort them out-
  14. People I have talked to said it is VERY hard, there are 100's of units fighting and it gets overly chaotic. The screenshots look good for a 2D game, but I think it is going to be way to hectic for me, at 51 my RTS gaming days are close to ending. One preview even wondered how anyone could control up to 1000 units on the screen! This is what the developer said, that many units. CM would be very very hard to beat, its better than any RTS game and TB game I have played. ------------------ -kill 'em all and let God sort them out-
  15. King Tiger22, what I find that interests me in a game and what others do, can be different. I don't think wanting to "relate" to one side is ridiculous. Since members of my family served in the Western front, and as a kid watching war movies where about this area, it simply interests me more, and I can relate to it more. I get more enjoyment out of a game whether it is a wargame, RPG or football, when I can at least identify with one side or the other. I am sure that most casual non-wargamers will agree. This is not to say I won't enjoy CM2, but that I won't enjoy it as much as CM1 because of the subject matter. I think the majority of the public knows about the Pacific and Western Front in WW2, but very little about the Eastern Front, me included. So sue me, I like to relate to one side or the other in all games. To each his own. ------------------ -kill 'em all and let God sort them out-
