  1. Isn't it the case that the chipset is part of the motherboard on the iMac but not on the G4? That might be part of the difference. ------------------ "Don't lie to me, Gustav! You're a stinkin' Mac user!"
  2. Thanks for the reply, Charles. From what Jobs said in Paris, it sounds like the Radeon card is going to become available for Macs. I hope that's true, and that CM will work on it. It would be a real step up in graphics capability. ------------------ "Don't lie to me, Gustav! You're a stinkin' Mac user!"
  3. Hi Charles... Is there any word on the problems folks are having with the display of text with the newer ATI Rage 128 cards on the Mac? This will really put a crimp in Mac sales if it can't be fixed. ------------------ "Don't lie to me, Gustav! You're a stinkin' Mac user!"
  4. Damn! I was hoping you'd get it to work. Hey BTS: Any word from ATI about what's going on with this bug? ------------------ "Don't lie to me, Gustav! You're a stinkin' Mac user!"
  5. Anything is acceptable. However, some players might consider it a little gamey, especially if it's done just to optimize your forces. I don't believe multinational forces fighting battles on the scale of CM were not the norm in the European theater. ------------------ "Don't lie to me, Gustav! You're a stinkin' Mac user!"
  6. If your video card has less than 16 megs, the grids won't work. I have an iMac DV SE with the standard 8 meg ATI card, and the grids won't show up. But at least I don't have the dreaded ATI "I can't see the text" bug. Hope ATI gets its act together on that one soon. ------------------ "Don't lie to me, Gustav! You're a stinkin' Mac user!"
  7. Here's a case where BTS is damned if they do, and damned if they don't. They made the Ambush markers stickier for v1.05 based on complaints that troops released from the ambush point too easily in 1.03/4. Probably not a perfect solution here. It will always depend on what you want in the moment: "No, damnit, don't fire yet!" "Shoot! Shoot! Who gives a damn about the Ambush marker?" ------------------ "Don't lie to me, Gustav! You're a stinkin' Mac user!"
  8. Okay, thanks for letting me know. I hope it works, although I suspect it may be the chipset itself that's the problem. Good luck! ------------------ "Don't lie to me, Gustav! You're a stinkin' Mac user!"
  9. Yeah, I've done the portrait mods. Definitely a fun addition. ------------------ "Don't lie to me, Gustav! You're a stinkin' Mac user!"
  10. LOL. Great smilie, HnH3_cm!!!! ------------------ "Don't lie to me, Gustav! You're a stinkin' Mac user!"
  11. Hey RudeLover, I'm a little confused. The Amis don't have fausts...do you mean rifle grenades, or zooks? Just joshing you. ------------------ "Don't lie to me, Gustav! You're a stinkin' Mac user!"
  12. Don't despair, Dave, we're using them and loving the results. Just too busy playing. ------------------ "Don't lie to me, Gustav! You're a stinkin' Mac user!"
  13. Hey Dave, you know my answer, but I'll say it anyway: "Yes, yes, a million times yes." ------------------ "Don't lie to me, Gustav! You're a stinkin' Mac user!"
  14. Hey lucero: Both Dave and Brian have said that they would respond fastest to direct e-mails regarding problems with either of the Mac mod programs. Dave wrote MCMMM, and Brian wrote Mac Mod CM. So, give 'em a shout. You can get their e-mail addresses in the other Mac Mod thread. ------------------ "Don't lie to me, Gustav! You're a stinkin' Mac user!"
  15. A rifle grenade is essentially a grenade that has a propellant. It can take out AFVs, although it depends on the thickness of the armor. It is not nearly as much of a tank killer as a faust. ------------------ "Don't lie to me, Gustav! You're a stinkin' Mac user!"
  16. Have you tried just double-clicking on the CM Mac Mod icon? Does the program open? If so, you should be able to select the .bmp files that way. I know that at least one other person reported a similar problem on the thread about the Mac Mod programs. I'd suggest you post something on there, because both Dave (aikidorat) and Brian (bsoplinger) are likely to check it. Don't worry, they'll eventually help you figure it out. ------------------ "Don't lie to me, Gustav! You're a stinkin' Mac user!"
  17. The HVSS system, although I don't know the technical details, reduced the likelihood of bogging. If you look at the unit details, you'll see that the HVSS tanks have a lighter ground pressure, and hence are less likely to become immobilized in damp or snowy terrain. ------------------ "Don't lie to me, Gustav! You're a stinkin' Mac user!"
  18. Hey gibsonm, did you receive the e-mail with the ATI software? If so, did it work? Antonio, that's very disconcerting to hear. It sounds like it has something to do either with the ATI chipset or the software. I'd like to hear from gibsonm whether the software versions I sent him make any difference. Everything works fine on my iMac DV SE, but I'm not sure if it's because of the chipset or the software. I'd be glad to send you the software if it works for gibsonm. ------------------ "Don't lie to me, Gustav! You're a stinkin' Mac user!"
  19. LOL. No, Gustav, although the original Dilbert cartoon that contained my signature might have been written just for you. ------------------ "Don't lie to me, Gustav! You're a stinkin' Mac user!"
  20. I think that's right. I've seen fausts used more often when the armor stumbles on my infantry. It is then akin to an ambush (even if you don't use that command). It helps if they are in prepared positions (i.e., foxholes), and in CC. ------------------ "Don't lie to me, Gustav! You're a stinkin' Mac user!"
  21. Hey, Gunslinger, nice work! Are they high-res or not? Those of us with weak-kneed graphics cards are dying to know! ------------------ "Don't lie to me, Gustav! You're a stinkin' Mac user!"
  22. Easy mistake to make, I've done it myself. Glad to be of help. ------------------ "Don't lie to me, Gustav! You're a stinkin' Mac user!"
  23. No, if it said spotter, it should be an FO, not a mortar. If you're right, then I'm not sure why you're having a problem. Be sure the target line says Area target, you can't target specific units without LOS. ------------------ "Don't lie to me, Gustav! You're a stinkin' Mac user!"
  24. Just a thought, but are you sure it was an FO and not a plain mortar? I haven't had any problems getting 81 mm FOs to fire indirectly. It's not terribly accurate, and so often a waste of ammo, but it does work. ------------------ "Don't lie to me, Gustav! You're a stinkin' Mac user!"
  25. Thanks for supporting us stinkin' Mac users, Matt! And double thanks to Brian (aka bsoplinger) and Dave (aka aikidorat) for their work on these programs! Mac users, get those mods! They look very cool! ------------------ "Don't lie to me, Gustav! You're a stinkin' Mac user!"
