1. What about the bug where my poor infantry gets slaughtered when it's out in the open??? There's this one scenario (Swatting at Tigers) that's supposedly takes place in Italy and there is very little cover for the Attacker, (it's pretty mountainous and bare) and once I start taking my men either through the mountain pass or up the mountains they get slaughtered by distant fire or crossfire from ambushes. Boy I hate to see what CM3 has in store for us. Infantry is gonna be the side show and Armor will be the Juggernauts.
2.
quote:
Originally posted by brooktrout: I would suggest dropping the internal modem and buy a router for your DSL that has a serial connection and then hook up an external modem as a backup for when DSL is down. That way either PC can use the external modem without having both PC's turned on for ICS. SMC and Asante have broadband routers that have the serial connection for modem sharing.

And don't forget the gigaplex of the gigahertz and the dual parallel port I/O and then use a common digi-converter to up your amptitude of the sin curve to enable superior ultra-hertz. Geez! Ever see those commercials where someone is rattling off a bunch of Network related jargon that the ordinary human wouldn't have a clue to what they were talking about???
3. I've got a complete set of Hi-Res, Hi-Contrast uniforms. Both Winter & Normal.
4. You might wanna check out Madmatt's thread concerning a strange Crash to Desktop bug. It has been fixed however, but I just had one and it is the FIRST crash of CM I've ever had.
5. Hmm, since when did the "Jerries" have that much Air Superiority against US forces???? What a joke!
6.
quote:
Originally posted by Madmatt: Crashes to Desktop that indicate a ERROR: Unit.cpp line 571 entry in the errorlog.txt This issue has been fixed. Madmatt

Yep, just got one of these. Very strange indeed. Messed up my desktop even. I tried doing a "Refresh" and it did the same action as a "Shutdown", not a "Restart", you know when it says, "It is now safe to turn off your computer." 7.
quote:
Originally posted by Napoleon1944: I had 2 elite snipers enter the same building and they coulden't spot each other! I recreated this. In the test I set up several elite snipers in or around a building. Some were seen right away, and some were not and combat ensued. I still had 2 US snipers and 1 German in the same building. I could see the sniper and target him (indicated crew) but the AI would not fire. I move right on top of him and still no combat.

Buildings are assumed to have rooms, so it is possible for enemy troops to not spot one another, haven't seen this often, but supposedly that's the way it works.
8.
quote:
Originally posted by Napoleon1944: During a night battle on TCPIP I noticed that one of my units targeted a freindly. I hope this is not a bug. Realistic feature!

That's a feature that has been in since the VERY beginning (I mean post-Beta Demo), it's most prevelent in night battles as you can imagine. Doesn't happen very often, but it is a possibility. There's a feature about that buried deep on CMHQ by now though. Ah found it, go check out the New Features section on CMHQ about Dynamic Friendly Fire.
9. Actually that's a good question. In the same manner, the SPW251/16 (Flamthrower) HT can't Hunt either, if I'm not mistaken.
10. Yeah, I actually played my first b22 game last night with armor and did notice an excessive amount of bogging. Glad to know it's fixed. EDIT: Ground conditions were DRY. [This message has been edited by Maximus (edited 12-17-2000).]
11. CrazyCurt, CM2: Barbarossa & Beyond (Eastern Front) CM3: War in the Med (Mediterranean Front-North Africa, Italy, Greece/Crete) CM4: Blitzkrieg! (Early War-Poland, Low Countries, France) CMII: all new game engine. (Not to be confused with CM2)
12. You're here dude. You're at the site that you buy it from. That's why they say, "Only available from Battlefront.com" You're here dude! Go click on Order and enter your info and in 10 days or so, you'll have your game.
13.
quote:
Originally posted by ianc: FAQ you all! ianc

NO! FAQ you!
14. Looks like Tigers vs Churchills in North Africa???
15. They're showing "Tora! Tora! Tora!: The true story of Pearl Harbor" now.
16. Subvet is correct. His twins are 3. His youngest is 18 months or so. 11 x 3 = 33 the last time I checked.
17. I'm using a SB Live! X-Gamer. I use the "Forest" setting as well for CM. Now one question though... Where do you position the rear speakers of a 4-point surround speaker system on your computer desk??? I don't recall floating invisible shelfs behind me. I do however use MidiLand speakers with a subwoofer.
18. I was working on making winter versions of Fernando's Hi-Res Panthers. I've also made winter versions of his SPW251 halftracks. These look pretty cool, IMHO.
19. Well it's like waiting to upgrade to a PS2 from a PSX. A no-brainer. I couldn't comprehend playing CM with the stock CD graphics. In fact, I don't think there are very many original textures left. And that's only do because no one has done a mod for them.
20. If you use a dial-up connection, it changes every time you dial-up. The first three sets of numbers stay the same, that last set changes.
21. I don't know about monopolies and all that stuff, but I'm not one to say I told you so, but......
22. Hell a lot of people threw a **** fit when the "dead body" casualty marker was added let alone about adding blood.
23. I've done a slight modification to the map on my computer. I've added some buildings on the other side of the river making it look more like it did in the movie.
