TankDawg replied to Old Dog's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
(everyone, in cadence) Bump, Bump, we want this mod! Bump, Bump, we want this mod! -
oops, sorry. I thought they were asking for your worst scenarios. read the subject to quickly. but what i meant about this was:
quote:
Originally posted by rune: I suggest you look at the elevated roads the XXX Corp was forced to travel. They were single lane roads on top of an elevated dike to keep them dry from the lowlands.

SPOILER: The Churchills that come in as reinforcements are placed as such that they can not move - they are stuck on this Jagged Road that is too steep for them to move forward or backward. It is a bug. That is all i was trying to say.

Hi, I thought "Highway to Hell" was a big dog. Woof, woof! (did you see the road some of the allied reinforcement tanks are placed on?- they could not move due to cliffs) He makes great scenarios, but this was not one of them.

Also, don't forget both of the magazines put their print articles, with screenshots, on their web sites usually about 2 weeks after the magazine hits the newstands. So whether or not Battlefront posts those pictures, they will be on the web in about a week or less. -

Heinz!!!! (Andre') Where are you my friend!?!? Been trying to reach you via email so we can continue our PBEM of "Hell's Highway." ------------------ Jeff Newell TankDawg -

I don't think it is really that tough to portray scouts in CM. We are all using some sort of scouting in just about every CM Scenario that we play. Why not just make it a little more accurate? I mean if we have "Security Squads," why not scout teams? Very, very limited firepower with great morale and no command radius needed. Just give me 4 teams in the average scenario and it would be great. I would love to see it in CM2. ------------------ Jeff Newell TankDawg

How many Pbem games are you simultaneously playing ?
TankDawg replied to Crockett's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
4 Have had as high as 7 going at once. But ScoutPL always flakes out on sending turns and Andre in Norway (Heinz) seems to have fallen off the planet. ------------------ Jeff Newell TankDawg -
Great Book!! The visual training aids that the Germans had in 1941 are better than the ones I have right now to train my platoon! ------------------ Jeff Newell TankDawg

Waffen SS: Let's dispel the myth.

Why?? Good discussion so far. NO one calling names. These types of things need to be discussed. ------------------ Jeff Newell TankDawg -
Waffen SS: Let's dispel the myth.
TankDawg replied to Maximus's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Max, you are kidding here, right?! You are comparing a scene in a fictional movie to real - life war crimes? I don't know what to say. I can not even reply to that. ------------------ Jeff Newell TankDawg -
Waffen SS: Let's dispel the myth.
TankDawg replied to Maximus's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Yes - the History Channel is often incorrect. Fact of life. And not ONE Waffen SS vet claims to have EVER witnessed or participated in a crime. Their company line is always "It was the OTHER SS groups, not us. We were all just soldiers." Max, don't belive that crap. ------------------ Jeff Newell TankDawg -
So what's the story with November 44

Waffen SS: Let's dispel the myth.
TankDawg replied to Maximus's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Good Post Babra, Waffen SS committed more atrocities than any other force. And yes, ALL nations and combatants committed atrocities. But the Waffen SS were NOT just another branch of the Army. Give me a break. ------------------ Jeff Newell TankDawg -
Actually, Reynolds is quite pro-SS in his books. (especially the one on Peiper) His admiration for them almost becomes worship in his descriptions. All his books have that similar underlying theme. But they do have GREAT descriptions of ferocious armor fighting. ------------------ Jeff Newell TankDawg

It does happen too often. Atleast once a game. Seems pretty amazing. ------------------ Jeff Newell TankDawg -
August Bank Holiday-WOW!!
TankDawg replied to Treeburst155's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
This WAS a great scenario. Both sides lost over 60 vehicles!!! And beleive it or not, we did TCP/IP 10 turns(of course I have DSL and Blackhorse has a T1) I only like blind games, but would play this one again! ------------------ Jeff Newell TankDawg -
CMHQ FTP Server and Scenario Depot are BACK UP!!!
