Thanks for the input. Definately not under fire. Yes, I know there are even more mines waiting for me. Oh well, just have to trust the CM engine. THanks for all the replies. ------------------ Jeff Newell TankDawg

Hi, Yes, I DID search first..... Having trouble clearing an antitank minefield on a road. Have had an engineer squad within 10 meters for 3 turns. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance, ------------------ Jeff Newell TankDawg

Hi, Trying to reach Maj. Chris Carnes (aka Blackhorse). Think we might be on TDY but has not responded for 2 weeks - usually he hits the list once a day and is great with email replies. Anyone heard from him? Thanks, ------------------ Jeff Newell TankDawg

Hi Tom, Yes, it was 'ironic sense.' And no, there is no NAZI symbolism in showing a King Tiger. I have just commented a couple of times on this list's obsession with the German War Machine. I mean, look at the argument going on in this thread about what to call a PZKW IVe. Cracks me up. ------------------ Jeff Newell TankDawg

hmmmm, What a surprise, the last vestage of Allied units being showcased in CM(Cover photo of Sherman and troops) gets replaced by German Tank. Why don't we just remove all Allied units, user names and everything else from this product and discussion board that is not German or SS. I will start. I am no longer "TankDawg," just call me "PanzerDawg." ------------------ Jeff Newell TankDawg

Sniper School 101 - Dead-eye Heinz
TankDawg replied to Mannheim Tanker's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
Hey Mannheim Tanker, I resemble that remark! Er, I mean, resent. I saw your sniper twice, for 1 second each time. It just flashed on screen and then vanished. Kind of creepy. Anyone have any ideas how to combat this? ------------------ Jeff Newell TankDawg -

Also, Where was that sniper? I would still love to see that screen shot. ------------------ Jeff Newell TankDawg -

ITS TOTALLY GAMEY!!!!!!! Damn it, I lost both my Spotters (105 and 155) and my Firefly's TC. Just kidding. Paul, they were devasting. I did not feel that it was gamey at all. Although I have no idea how I would combat it in the future. Just imagine how much more I would have kicked your butt with that Arty coming down. ------------------ Jeff Newell TankDawg -
ASL Vet, As a huge CM fan and avid ASLer I completely agree with your comments. Tiger, We would be lucky on this discussion board to attract more ASLers. Their email(discussion) list is now 9 years old and boasts way more contributors than this list. So an occasional ASL/CM post shouldn't mess things up too much. ------------------ Jeff Newell TankDawg

Germans, Nazis and SS -- oh, my!
TankDawg replied to L.Tankersley's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
Come on Specter! The Soviet Union had already moved it's industrial core to the east and would not have surrendered simply due to the fall of Moscow. I know the board will correct me if I am wrong, but I thought that this was pretty common knowledge. ------------------ Jeff Newell TankDawg -

TankDawg replied to Dr. Brian's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
Hi, Back from dinner. Time to lock this up. I don't think either side is going to budge. It is important to once again state that neither Dr. Brian of myself said anything close to equating 'playing the Germans means you are a nazi.' Really simple. Just like the Confederate Flag, offended many and was removed from the SC State Capital, user names offend some. CM is only a game, but user names to some, have a greater meaning. That is all. Good night. ------------------ Jeff Newell TankDawg -

Hi, Me again. It is only a game. Using usernames that are from war criminals is not funny and has nothing to do with this great game. I am going to register as Adolf Hitler for my user name and see what happens. This a great game. I am just tired of all the NAZI user names. ------------------ Jeff Newell TankDawg
