  1. That was my guess yes. I read that the jägers got deployed remarkably many times from ground. Maybe this was because the germans lost air superiority?
  2. I know this is a CM forum but I couldn't help post this thread on the CC forum. I haven't checked the forum for over a week because frankly I don't play the game anymore but I checked the forum anyway. Here's some of the replies I got: Posted By: Jim (12.77.61.242) Date: 11/28/99 17:07 : It would have been nice to have the Nebelwerfer in CC-4.I would rather see it then the Wurf. Posted By: Mad Bunny (171.215.165.36) Date: 11/28/99 20:54 :A man after my own heart! (this guy works for Atomic) Posted By: Howard Bjerke (193.217.238.139) Date: 11/28/99 21:02 I'd rather not seen any of them. Posted By: Mad Bunny (171.215.165.36) Date: 11/28/99 21:04 Ok, no nebelwefers, just for you Mr. Bjerke. Posted By: Howard Bjerke (193.217.217.148) Date: 11/29/99 08:49 Jeez.. that was easy why couldn't you just asked me before you made the game in the first place. If you'd kept you eyes and ears open you'd found out that It's not just me that don't want all this rocket stuff you're throwing in. Btw I'm not Mr. PS. While you're at it can you leave out all the flamethrowers and fix the german voice cues too cuz I already know who the bad guys were ? Posted By: Brubaker <queenrocks@esc.net.au> (203.109.235.10) Date: 11/29/99 16:48 Jeez that was easy. Well if that's the case I would like some Belgian peasant farmgirls for my soldiers to 'entertain' whilst not out fighting. Brubaker.(The opinions of the psychotic above do not represent this board or forum and are not meant to represent any person, living or deceased.) Posted By: Howard Bjerke (130.67.232.111) Date: 12/3/99 10:23 Haven't checked this board for quite a while and now I see why. So anybody that got the audacity to have an opinon that differs from your's, anyone that's posting something on a board that doesn't say the same as all the others are a psychotic? So there's no room for people that have other thoughts, beliefs and things that bothers them. I wonder who's the psycho Brubaker (last time a person with power who had the same opinons about a democracy as you governed a country he sat europe on fire). Yeah that's it for now.. sorry about posting that here but I couldn't help it I must also say that Brubaker isn't the average user of that forum but then again there wasn't any other posts telling Brubaker he was out of order. Feels good to be in a forum were grown up's are posting.
  3. That's funny... a wrestling man. Anyway I've never heard of grey uniforms for panzer units. Could it be that some StuG's were issued to the Luftwaffe perhaps?
  4. I don't think cheating will be much of a problem with CM because of it's supporters. Somehow I don't think wargamers like to cheat like players in games like Diablo and that kind of games. What's the point in cheating in wargames anyway? It's no glory except the glory for yourself as I see it and if you cheat you cheat yourself. You'll get low self esteem because you didn't vanquish your enemy without cheating. Deep inside you will know that YOU didn't beat him, YOU weren't good enough. I'm not trying to show superior morale here only stating a fact. I must admit I've used cheats for all the weapons or full ammo etc on action games but never on multiplayer, it would be the ultimate disgrace being taken in cheating.
  5. I don't understand why you guys even remotely compare CC with CM and speak of the games in the same sentence. CM is mile away from CC when it comes to realism (even if Atomic continued on the CC2 path). There are some good things about CC tho. That's easy to get into for regular non grognard type of people and that the gameplay doesn't try to be realistic (despite what Atomic may think). This all adds up to that CC4 is for regular pple. Btw if someone wants to have a nice laugh go and read the review by www.game-over.net on CC4, I was laughing so my stomach hurts. Somehow I don't think the reviewer was a WW2 history major on preschool.
  6. chaos: I was thinking about freeware music I'm not going to buy any music CD's anyway. Thanks for the link nevertheless
  7. Jgdpzr: Try popping smoke if you're exposed and attack from another angle.
  8. What's wrong with you pple I think that smoke joke I pulled was funny I feel like the guy that told a bad joke to von Paulus after he was told he was to "stay put we'll come and get you".
  9. That's comforting to hear because magic shells (remember JFK anyone) that knocks out a couple of tanks plus ricochet's to kill a SMG squad isn't in my "book of realism". I've heard dozens of incredible stories during WW2 too so if a 10.000 to 1 ricochet could disable a tank or blow up a halftrack it would be cool simply because it could happen.
  10. -the German Uberweapon, Das Obelisk of Licht, introduced by German scientists late in the war, those responsible for the Rocket Tank! Foobar that just cracks me up
  11. Excellent music Greg. I love the WW2 propaganda music. Anyone know about a site that got WW2 music somewhere ? German, Russian, English and US that is.
  12. heheh... yeah and lot's of flamethrower crews with a really cheesy evil "Target eliminated" german accent.
  13. Jgdpzr: I usually drives one StuG at the far left, one in the middle and the last to the right by the forrest. The one to the left should be put hull down overlooking the small hill and road (excellent for side shots). Let an MG and a shreck unit ride with the middle StuG to take position behind the church (let them crawl and hide in position on the second floor) with the gun rotated against the field. Finally the last StuG should be hull down on the ridge to the right, pop up maybe shoot a sherm if you're lucky and reverse. This should draw some towards him and the others will finish off a couple of Sherms for you from the flanks. The shreck in the church almost every game take out a sherman. With this tactic you'll end up with 2 stug's after the smoke has settled (usually).
  14. After CM? Well I don't know about you but after I'm done with CM I'm goning to take a shower, say hi to my gf, eat something and sleep a couple of days.
  15. I'm not sure about WW2 tactics on this but I know that in modern warfare they blow up just about anything to get good LOS, including pretty big areas of forest. In the Norwegian army we never leave on maneuvers without chainsaws e.g when preparing for defensive stances.
  16. If ricochet's are tracked in the game all the better for CM. What I fail to believe is that ricochet's often took out Tanks during WW2 and if they occasionally had a hit it was pure chance that's all. Mostly ricochet's goes straight upwards anyway because the front armor of Tanks are directed that way (unless it's a side shot). And Madmatt it's a big difference if you're aiming for me than if you're shooting at a tank. If you'd hit someone with a ricochet I bet you could fire another 200 rounds again before you'd got another kill. I simply will not change my mind about that because it's contradicting all logic (but hey it could happen but then again I could get hit by a meteor). As far as shooting HE rounds on tanks I know that veteran german gunners developed a tactic against the awesome armor on the JSII tanks where they shot a HE round to shake the soldiers (maybe destroy sights etc too) inside followed by AP rounds, done several times until it penetraded.
  17. Well from Fionn's post I thought hide was the equivalent of "target armor only", I'm not english so I guess I don't get all the meanings on different issues sometimes I know that it's been said earlier that in the final version it will be a "target armor (& maybe AT guns) only" and I really think we need that. You're loosing valuable seconds and you get exposed by shooting at infantry.
  18. Thanks for correcting Mattias, now if only you'd elaborate it more for me I would be most thankful
  19. I don't care how long your posts are as long as I can learn something new. Very interesting board BTS got here because much of the facts I've gotten here I would never think of looking up myself. Keep up the good work guys
  20. JonS: Then they should simulate the possiblity of a meteor striking a tank too or the driver getting a heart attack, simply because it could happen
  21. JoshK: That's interesting. I've also heard about MG42's killing armor from multistory buildings with AP ammo. Soft armor on top of some tanks.
  22. I would say the early zooker's were a rocket proppeled shaped charge. At least the Faust is.
  23. I've discovered that many times a hotseat game can answer a lot of questions. Fionn said that if you put the tank on hide it wouldnt fire at anything than a Tank (well he's got a later version tho) but I tried it and it fired on everything in sight. I like the fact that the AI asks if you want to use the main gun if you're shooting at infantry tho.. could save you valuable time if a tank showed up. Don't have to reload to AP.
  24. Excellent site Slazzari, never seen that one before
  25. -I took out the Tiger and found myself looking closely at it, searching for any signs of the exact point of penetration (I figured that I could not rule out BTS’s sense of realism, minute detail and craftmanship coding). Funny but I did the same thing the first time I tried the game. Great men think alike I guess
