  1. Was my understanding that tanks could go through the bocage but no other units. Is this wrong, if it isn't how do you get them to do it? maybe i'm thinking about brush or something like that.
  2. Ol' Winston had made it quite clear that all major german towns would be gassed within a short period of any use of gas or other chemical warfare by the germans. Interesting note that the british almost used it anyways, but an air marshal persuaded winston not to do it. The german generals in fact wanted to use gas desperately in 1943 but hitler wouldn't let them. Remember that he was gassed (though lightly) in WWI with mustard gas. Germany did have Gas units, but also the effecctiveness of the gas was deemed inneffective because at first the gas would have hurt the germans because of their rapid advance and later they really didn't have time to setup adequete attacks because of the fluid nature of the front. Ironic little point, Chlorine gas was first created by a German Jew who wanted to proove he was as much german as any german, his wife eventually killed herself (she was the first german woman to hold a Ph.d in chemistry) over the fact that he was widely wanting it used. In the end he died in the early 1930's but not before creating the gas Zikon-B, which was the gas used to kill so many jewish people during WWII.
  3. Hey well maybe your carefully laid out plans in reality were sucky ill conceived mistakes. If the computer kicks your butt that badly, I think you should be re-examining your own strategy rather than blaming the game and the programmers.
  4. Bah a lot of your so called "facts" are nothing more than overstated exagerations. Most people would be willing to show the "proof" that backs up their "facts". Just for example, I don't know anything about british arms, but if the sa-80 is the STANDARD british assault rifle, i'd be really interested to see where you saw a article that said it only works in a "clean room". It'd be like saying that just because the u.s. had a prototype 1 wing aircraft "similar to the stealth bomber" in the 50's and 60's, that the u.s had them as a widespread plane in their airforce. Get some proof to backup your "facts" or the only real fact is that your full of it.
  5. When you park your car you always park backwards, so that you keep your front armor facing the enemy.
  6. Steve when will you guys charge our credit cards for our orders?
  7. Oh i know whats the problem. The imac has a fundamental problem with the fact that it is still a macintosh. Serious gamers need IBM clones. Solution: buy a IBM clone, costly but super effective. I personally recommend the pentium III with the 128 ram setup.
  8. Hey steve can you tell us now exactly how many preorders you guys got?
  9. Ok now I'm a little confused on how to work this. With the pre spotting reticle does that mean you can position your 150mm and your 81mm mortars behind the hills? and when you target do you just target at that spot?
  10. Just curious steve, but i've heard a lot about your weasel, lets see some pics of it with ya driving it. Come on we're family!
  11. Ok now it has NOTHING to do with my interest in the game, but in my WW II history class, there is a mention in one of my textbooks of how the germans would have done much better to have mass produced one certain type of tank, instead of going with SOOO many different ones. Think of it like this. Sure the panzer MkIV wasn't the best tank, but it was a tried and true tank. It could get the job done. The better question would be, would germany have had a better panzer corps if they had stuck the main mk IV design up untill the panther, then switched over to the panther? They could have even had the Jagdpanzer cuz it had the same parts as the MkIV. Its just soo many different tanks, with soo many different types of ammunition. They had logistic problems with it all. Just another contributing factor to their overall defeat.
  12. Hey steve, 2nd thought. that program that refreshes every second, is that even legal? Sounds like something like that situation when yahoo, cnn, and amazon.com were brought down by just people hitting their website. Just food for thought.
  13. Hey Steve, My theory on this is that a watched pot never boils. Truly believe that CM will be the best of its kind ever but not since February have I been checking all the time multiple times a day. You know what? I came in from work today to get a pleasant surprise of the gold demo email. I'm happy, I have the demo, and so I can't really defend those guys who hit refresh every two seconds.
  14. hehe wouldn't be a long war then SS had what 15-20 divisions? And that being at the height of their operational status? The regular army probably had like what 40-80 divisions? just rough guesses
  15. Well personally I think the allies wouldn't be screwed, I do think they'd take far greater casualties, but they'd probably still retain air superiority. Also think of it another way, how long would it take for russian troops to transport themselves across germany? But the biggest difference is that America would still be the industrial superior to both germany and Russia put together. This could lengthen the war a few years, but then the british would have their jet fighter into the war action, the p-80 would also see combat. But even if they did extend the war into 1946, 1947, even without the German scientists that were captured in the time between june 44' and the completion, the americans would have had the Manhattan project completed. Unlike Hitler, i think the German generals at the sight of Hamburg, dresden, or berlin, being oblitterated by a nuclear bomb, would have shown that they were up against too much. Remember: Truman I don't think would have thought twice about nuking the hell out of anyone opposing us at that point. Possible outcome: Germany surrenders, russia fights on. Multiple cities in germany are bombed with nuclear devices, Japan probably the same situation as did happen historically. Eventually Lenningrad or Moscow is bombed by a nuclear device as well. bonus: no cold war. Allied control of all of germany, probably a lot of russia, those eastern block countries wouldn't have been under horrible economic conditions for the latter part of the 20th century. Minuses: probably at least 100,000-500,000 more american casualties, with equal percentage losses by britain per capita.
