No. The countries representatives told what programmes they used for their army. There were no actual showings of games. Only talking about what/how/where they can be implemented ass additional training tools. But I do have told them how my tactical skills have improved by using Tacops

I have been to this exhibition and visited some of the workshops. Interesting one was about the use of commercial wargames for military training purposes. This was hosted by several people from many countries. The teamleader is Michael Woodman(us marine corps) Main discussion items were: To determine a bussinessmodel/best practice for the exploitations of games To determine a common requirement definition for games and the exploitation of game usergroups to support training and exercise. I was very surprised to see that there is a lot of understanding and a high degree of cooperation among all NATO members,a huge step forward. Been an interesting discussion, where I was able to have some input too. Biggest surprise to me was that I met the Australian army representative for battlefront(tacops and Combat mission) Its a small world after all Henk
  3. Hi Major, From my experience with several visits at roadshows and exhibitions,I learned that visitors often like to play theirselves. We always had a standard scenario running on a projector screen and had another available to let visitors play, mostly on 2 or 3 laptops. Surprisingly though I saw their that many low ranking soldiers planned/executed their mission better than most of the visiting officers...
  4. I have made a battle for the switchback operation. The Germans had a army HQ there responsible for picking up stragglers of all other services fleeing from belgium and france. When I start digging up the OOB of the force present during switchback I found out the Germans had a total of nearly 500 guns ranging from Mg 42 to big calibre 210mm Naval guns in a 3 km square area.............lots of them were 20/37 and 75 mm guns. Needless to say I had to tweek the OOB a little. I never use much artillery, especially no rocket or any other type of FO above batallion level. If you do use such FO's than give them a very low % for showing up as reinforcements, this might add some realism since not all requests for artillery fire missions were succesfully delivered at regimental HQ's.
  5. Like to have it too Email is in the profile.
  6. I would love to play on this one,but RL,work and the Onion War campaign take away most of my time. I would ,however like to read AAR's and other stuff to see if this campaign is better than ours We are now playing the 4th version of the campaign which gets better and better in terms of fighting,logistics,C3 and so on. version 5 promises to be even better...... You can find general info at: www.onionwars.net Btw Elvis,if you are so good, how come I have never played against you?
  7. Hi, the scenarios and maps you mentioned are made by McAulife. They are very accurate ,as are his scenarios. For CMBO his switchback operation is also historically accurate. I can say you should try all of his battles. For CMAK I hace created a battle about the openingstages of the Battle of the Bulge, named Clervaux ,deathtrapp for the 110th infantryregiment. Try that one too if you have CMAK
  8. Btw Hans can you email me? I have the info about the japanese attack on Kalidjati. Sent to me by the army museum I have everything, absolutelky everything about the attack, the forces, their locations and so on. henk

  12. To me its not a real pain that the big masses dont play this game. We dont have that much geeks and little children around on the forums, most are adults willing too help a friend/fellow gamer. A small group of enthousiastic people also contributes nice things like mods and scenarios. Let the big masses stay away from our game

    Weird Maps

They all work in the normal courts in the heague. I think the building will be ready next year. Prisoners are held at the Scheveningen jail. You can also try the map that Ralf made for me its from the sector my former batallion had to defend against a mixed Polish/Eastern German army. Its a map of the River Aller area. You can also get an OOB from me once I am home again. Henk
  14. you should also check this site for the actual weather for that day. http://www.knmi.nl/voorl/ should be an english part too.
  15. cd sent yesterday, should be at your place around saturday. total shipping cost 3 euros,i leave it up to you if you pay me anything for it maybe when you come to europe one day you can buy me a drink Henk
  16. I have a link to the Dutch meteorologic services. They provide a list of all data about the weather since early 1700 in the Netherlands. My guess is that the French have that too. I think you have to find out what the name of that service is and you should learn french too
  17. I have a german copy,if you want to have it its yours you only have to pay for the stamps on the package, you can have the disc for free. henk
  18. name of the scenario is: Clervaux deathtrapp for the 10th regiment If you send me an email,I will send it to you.
  19. Hi Uzi, the original CMBO map for Marnach was made by Mc Auliffe from Belgium. I have made a new revised one of the area for CMAK covering the entire area from Clervaux to marnach. Download my Clervaux battle from the depot andd you see what I mean. I have visited the area myself and I can say that this huge map turned out to be a exact replica of the real terrain. Henk
  20. One of the problems with ADSL modems is that the IP number given to you by the program is that of the modem itself. Not your pc's IP number. You should change the settings in your modem manually. I think that will solve your problem.
  21. athkatla and the major are right about this issue. I have been an infantry soldier myself and I dug quite a few of those (two man)fighting positions. We had to fill little sandbags too to make the sides stronger. Work took us about 8 hours. Most of the time we got 24 hours to dig the pits for the platoon and the vehicles, place mines and barbed wire and to dug communication trenches.
  22. I would advice you to look at the map from my operation, its as accurate as I could make it,given the restrictions of the editor. I used on old ww2 era map which I found in a book.
  23. I advice you to do a search on this item,it will give you a few topics with a lot of usefull info.
